Highly likely that went from one side of the frame to the other, as you say, beneath the bike. Tie both sides of the frame together for stiffness without stressing either component. I'll try to shoot some pics for you tomorrow, 24ºF in my garage right now

I'm not likely to be of much use in designing what you need to make it work but if you can draw it, I can make it
-
right hand saddlebag on the bike. They're hard bags more like a danged box than a bag, I just misname them as a box
-
the fuel cell looks just like the one in my Wing, it too is a Champion. On my GL1500 it is in the right side box. I've not had an opportunity to fill it yet, but I'm hoping it is more than 3 gallons.

They supply the plate, when i was machining on mill I supplied plate so that made the savings even greater. If you are making several parts from same thickness and they can be easily nested to maximize cutting time(laser on, travelling to next cut at a minimum) then likely it would not be $100 for each but rather a total batch price. If you have a DXF send it to me and I'll get my guy to quote it for you. I do lots of work with these people, they do my laser and plasma work, I do their machine work so my pricing "should' be better than others would get. If holding a tight tolerance isn't needed we could possibly do the High Def Plasma, it cuts butter smooth up to about 3/8, and pretty smooth up to about 1". Cost is about 60-70% price of laser

This plate is made from .25 plate. When I first started making it the mill time was roughly 34 minutes per part. Had to fixture it twice, once to cut inside, once to cut outside. At that point they were costing me app $34 to make. I am having them laser cut for less than $6.00 each. Huge savings, they hold +-.002 on the large hole in the middle too.

With your pattern a digitizer scanner can generate a DXF file. As long as it is 2 dimensional it will be a snap. If it has angular features on the sides or a step, etc then it may get weird to scan. Most laser house' have a $100 minimum or so. You be highly surprised what you can buy for that min fee in quantity.

I have a friend who has a digitizer/scanner to make a DXF from a part. He scanned a parking brake lever for me and generated the DXF in under 2 minutes. It took me longer than that to start measuring it. We had 100 pieces laser cut from his DXF and they were absolutely perfect. The hole in the end even transferred within .0025" So, find someone with a digitizing scanner and they can generate the DXF or DWG whatever you need

Do you have pictures and app sizes for these clamps you need?

Good news, Ashley has been found because of a car accident, she is okay, the car not so, she is up in northern Indiana She was alone, and we assume he is hiding, the police are continuing their investigations on the man involved and we hope charges are soon brought upon him. Thank you to all who wish well and prayed for her safe return!!!

In the last day or so she has accessed the internet from Huntington, W Va area and is suspected to be in the company of Matthew Wayne Pebler of Huntington area. This was ran on the Ashland Ky news last night;http://www.wsaz.com/home/headlines/Police-Searching-for-Missing-Endangered-Teen-240644171.html This is a picture a car, identical to hers

I would normally never spread this type of info without a very good reason but a friend of mine, a motorcycle racer and fellow amateur operator is missing his daughter. https://www.facebook.com/bringashley.homesafe She disappeared on Monday, from Georgetown Ky. , no word, no idea where she was headed. It is likely she is in the company of a guy from New Jersey, all the info is on the facebook link I gave. Mods, if this is unacceptable conduct, to post such heart breaking please then please forgive and delete, thank you.

I remember also reading parts of that. With the FTM you can mount the control face anywhere, it is waterproof. I found a unit called "MiX-It2", it is for combining 2 or more audio signals, and having one of those become "priority", it will enable my Sirius and Kw to act similar to the way the factory radio does now. I set one up on my Goldwing using the Aux input and a MiX-It2, works beautifully, next project is to do the same to the Venture. I have the radio mounted and working 100% already , just waiting for me to tap the PTT switch.

No, I wish!. I have several times thought about taking an "on glass" and stick it to a plexi windshield just to prove to my self it won't work. If by some feat of magic it did i would have wasted an antenna on a scrap windshield.

I was hoping you discovered something I been dreaming about for years

Nice! I am a great fan of self supporting towers.

2m-440 on my Vulcan YaesuFTM10r Kenwood TMD700 with APRS on my venture. Fitting another of same onto my Goldwing

TS 2000 160-70cm, 39 foot tower with 3 element 6m beam and ringo 6m vert. TYT 1.25M rig with vert on same tower at 30 foot. 56 foot heights fold over tower with 2m beam, 1.25m beam and dual bad vert on top 256foot long 80m loop strung between the towers and two trees for HF

You have a glass mount on the bike?? I was under the impression the capacitive coupling only worked on glass
-
If you study the "advantages" of going extra you may find the gains are not quite worth the effort. What are you going to use for HF? I did a 80M dipole at first, then not quite satisfied with that I built a 80M loop. Amazing difference, lots less noise, much better signals, almost 100% non-directional like a dipole

Even Phoenix Az is under a freeze warning for the night. Lots of folks out there don't even have heat in their house!

Kevin, We appreciate the kind words but really we didn't do any thing for you that you would not have done for us or any one else. It pleased me immensely to be able to help you and Sue, would have done more if you had let us. We were all ready to drive you home if you had let us! You and Sue are both delightful people, we look forward to breaking bread with you again soon. Tina has mentioned several times that it is unfortunate that you live so far away, she would like to spend more time getting to know you folks

Using my Kenwood radio on the 86 I have noticed tha occasionally when I first key the mic, or if the APRS unit post sometimes the bike will skip a beat, tach goes to the right hand peg and bike will cough and then clear up and go. Thinking it was a coincidence I can replicate it sometimes. So, yes, these devices are closer and cheaper and more reliable than "the man" wants you to believe
