My wife never thought she would A) like sitting that low either, B) not riding her own but she loves it and I will take advantage of her new found desire to ride again at any chance I get. Good luck and riding withe the trike, on the flip side of the coin, they hold their value very well if desire to trade up or sell ever strikes you.

So no consideration of a sidecar rig for roughly 25% of what you are spending? Plus it can be removed in an hour or less if you so desire.

WIfe and I wanted a trike. looked far and wide for a used one, everything we found was mucho$$$. More than I was willing to part with. We found a 'Wing with a Champion sidecar, as Brian said earlier,, I never rode in one or drove one before I bought this. We love it, the wife has began to beg me to take her riding again(like she really needs to, but I "let" her beg me just for appearances), which is something that dwindled several years ago. Since we bought this, for roughly half of what you mention a trike kit is, her bike has not even been started, nor has my Vulcan. We did a week trip back in May, we cut it short at 4 days since we had already ridden everywhere we intended on going before ending up at home. Yep, wing and sidecar made a week long trip in 4 days, no shaving og miles either. Only thing I DON'T like is when I stop for a redlight or traffic, I forget to stand up and stretch my legs and bad hip and knee.

Oh, so you did that on purpose to see if I would notice? I was about to pull up my drawing and change the location but I guess I better not.

Yes, it just looked like the wrench hex was a long way from the bar. Looks like that hex could be scooted over a bit to provide a wee bit more clamping room.

Did you remove the nut and screw those on?

they were likely RAM mounts, I have one for my Nuvi350 and it wraps like you describe. Found one for a Tom-Tom, it also wraps around.
-
I had one of those, it fell off my Vulcan up in Indiana some where, if my gps had not been wired it would have been road trash instantly. Like most, I use the sandwich bag method, rode through adownpor today, uncovered and it didn't affect it at all-this time

Jeez, there was a lot of people there for a Wednesday. If you find yourself with no where to ride again, come on down, i lead you through Red River Gorge area

MAMA there is no town called Mystery, but there was a community called Nobob, Ky. I found the abandoned/closed Post Office

Surging, low speed miss
Bob Myers replied to Bob Myers's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yea, mine does too, again, now. Although I have never been red line in 4th or 5th, I just don't have that much nerve, or life insurance. -
In-a-Godda-Da-Vida!!!!!!! First album I ever bought. Mom hid it because I would play the whole 17 minutes over and over. The drum solo would move furniture up stairs

Surging, low speed miss
Bob Myers replied to Bob Myers's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Intersting turn of events, bike had not cleared up any more at all, still surging and missing at low speed. I had an Iron Butt Ride to participate in this past weekend, sort of my Birthday present to myself. Yea, I know I get me strange gifts. Any way i knew it was going to be 95% above 70 mph and that is where it runs best(with the surge and miss), so i loaded my junk in the trunk and off I went. At about 375 miles it sort of had smoothed out when coming in for a landing for fuel, I noticed immediately after fueling the idle was higher, smoother too. At about 825 miles I ran into some traffic and had to detour to avoid construction, the route took me through 6 or 7 stoplights. Thay all saw me coming and turned red when i got to them. Hmm, bike is idling really smooth, pulling smooth down low with no apparent misfire. Rest of the ride went smoother, faster so I paid no more attention to it Today i rode to work. Smooth as it ever was, pull smooth in 5th gear from 1500 all the way to my nerve closing the throttle. Now this same thing happened when I rode the first Iron Butt ride 4 years ago, it was surging and missing, etc. At about 900 miles it smoothed out and ran like silk, except for a clutch issue( thanks again utahventure!). Conclusion is that running it short distance and letting it sit and idle heavily doped with seafoam did it some good but not as good as running the snot out of it on the interstate, with no seafom. -
Thanks guys!!

No,, I did it on the Venture. I like being able to just lean back set the cruise on 90 or so and take a nap. Kinda irritating having to stop every 125 miles or so to fuel, but considering I don't lose any time fueling(compared to guys I ride with) I can deal with the miniscule tank

Completed my 3rd Iron Butt Ride at 11:45 last night. When I finished my ride I had 1255 miles in 20 hours, including the 210 miles to and from the start /finish point. All inside the Commonwealth of Ky!! My birthday present to myself!

Covers for Radio/CB?
Bob Myers replied to alien_bug's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My 86 has a cover for both, had it come off once when a truck passed me going the other way. He was pushing a LOT of air around.Luckily i caught it before it fell overboard. Post up about your impending trip, maybe some folks along the way can get a ride in along side you -
What could any one say that these guys have not already said. You're a good man Eck, no matter what others say about you

Ford 4.6 triton COP Question, Just change them all?
Bob Myers replied to RSTDdog's topic in Watering Hole
Interesting question. My Dodge hemi acts the same, surge/misfire feeling. No one on the Dodge forums has answered a similar question from over a year ago. i watch it closely hoping for a magical cure. -

$148 bux for the larger one is rather pricey!! -
I have a drift(standard), uses AA batteries, gets about 6hours from regular, 5 hours from rechargables. Also have the Drift HD, lith-ion batteries, last about 12 hours, can video roughly 6 hours before needing to swap cards

Surging, low speed miss
Bob Myers replied to Bob Myers's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Just had an exchange on facebook with the wife concerning this issue; Me; broke belt on air compressor, leaving here shortly to get new one, will be coming on home via Tates Creek Road. Need to ride this bike slower than interstate speed so the seafoam can wash out the varnish in the low speed jets getting it up to operating temperature and let it sit and idle for a few minutes, shut it off and let it sit for a couple hours, then repeat does wonders for clearing it out and dissolving the varnish build up in the carburetors. Tina; by "ride this bike slower" does that mean you'll be home sometime tomorrow evening? Me;yes, that is correct Tina; okay, have fun! Chat Conversation End -
Surging, low speed miss
Bob Myers replied to Bob Myers's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
old plugs looked good I could pop those back in and run it for a while then put these back in. I'd guess these have less than 125 miles on them
