  1. I wish I had known about this site last Friday night! I just rode last Saturday about one third of what you guys are talking about. I left Paris, went 64 to Charleston WVa, then 77to Parkersburg, 50to Hillsboro, 62to Maysville, then 68 back into Paris- alone.462 miles in 8 hours, on my Vulcan800. Would've liked some company, but most folks don't like to ride with me because I never stop any where.
  2. That second one is Suzuki only
  3. Cocoa Beach/Space Center area, 528 west to US 27 north. Us 27 north to Cincinnati, Us 52 west to Indy. As you cruise through Lexington and Paris give us a call and we'll join you for a meal somewhere if we can get away without holding you up. Mileage is unknown but easily calculated, I've made the same trip before, in partial legs. Cocoa to Chattanooga is a long day, Chattanooga to Cinci is another long day. Cinci to Indy is only 2 hours via 52
  4. Description says one piece but picture shows a two piece. It looks identical to the 8144ff that I bought 2 of.
  5. Only one I see on that link for under 60 is a one piece-non removable cord. Mine for 69 is a standard 2 piece with removable cord
  6. Shame you are so far away. I have an American Steel building, similar to yours except they call it an "A" building, 24 x 25 that I have never erected. Would sell it cheap enough to ship to you in Iowa from Ky and still have some insurance left over for a new bike lift or two.
  7. Where did you find that for $59.00? I thought I was doing good for 69. At your price I'll buy a spare for the odd chance I lose a helmet. I have a older, cheaper non disconnect headset that is approaching 8 years old and it finally has a wire broken inside. J&M is good quality merchandise.
  8. Those big black ones? They are ground wires, I cannot even fathom a guess as to where those go though, sorry.

  10. Before you actually go to the trouble of mounting and building your interface you may wish to give those a real world test. That is a GMRS radio and if my memory serves me correct they are 450-470 MHz.This coupled with a possible 5 watts will give you maybe 3/4 mile range. At that high of a frequency you need 30 watts to make a 10/15 mile carrier heard. Possibly, and i mean this with knowledge of communications equipment, possibly 500 yards on flat terrain. The mfg so overrates and over states those thing it should be criminal.
  11. trailer talk, trailer tech, I did not post any thing I thought of tech value, just random observations. I will look deeper into it and if I am able to conclude any thing worthy of a tech article I will post it there, thanks.
  12. I have done a bit of research on an electric disc brake. I'm building a single wheel trailer to pull behind my Vulcan 800. All that I have found have such an amp draw that the standard wiring on a stock bike would need some upgrades. Using it continuously like in a car would compromise the battery pretty quickly to. If it were set for just a slight drag instead of actually locking a wheel it may work.
  13. Actually it is possible to receive some protection from a short via a diode. If it goes to ground and pops the diode into "open" condition you will be safe. Most diodes you find on the shelf at the Rat Shack are only rated for about 1 amp any way. If it melts from heat and shorts internally you would never know until the trailer backfed. Why put your bike at risk with filament bulbs? Use LEDs and never worry about it backfeeding. Presuming of course your wiring skills are sufficient to wire the trailer.
  14. Northern Hydraulics has them online also, possibly for less than those linked above
  15. At it again? I did not know they ever ceased! I use paypal a lot, I mean alot, last year was over $50k. I get 2 or 3 of those evry week. Same from ebay, get at least one a week. The more active you are the more often they target you I guess.
