  1. We use AT&T for our cell phone service, they are bad about that too. Direct TV (satellite) will fail to send you a bill at least a couple times a year, just so they can get the "turn on fee" As with you, any of these companies can look at our history and see we always pay on time, providing of course we actually get a bill.
  2. So, where are you? You cannot come into Ky without saying hello to us.
  3. Interesting reading, sounds like it has a few good points we could all adapt to our own
  4. Never heard of this guy. Maybe I should have years ago. I subscribe to my fathers way of finance, pay as you go and you won't owe. Everything in my machine shop is paid for except one lathe and one mill which are leased, house paid for, 10 year old and 13 year old bikes paid for, all 5 of our trucks-paid for. Now who is this guy, Dave Ramsey?
  5. I see you're a ham too, missed seeing you in other ham related threads
  6. Sounds spark related. Have your plugs been changed recently, to a non resistor type plug or the split fires? Those dual electrode plugs are notorious for that.
  7. If you can get to it to grind the head off there should be a nub sticking out when you actually get the bag off, then grab it with the Vise-Grips™ and twirl it out.
  8. Actually yes, I did go out and shoot that just a few minutes ago just to post here, now! Nothing is too good for friends, right? When I had a clutch issue out in Utah a couple members(Condor, and Utadventure) here broke their typing fingers to help me, and one of those guys (Dave)opened his garage and supper table to me, and gave immeasurable amounts of help in fixing it. So, there we are, my small attempt at returning help! I'm pleased I could do it.
  9. Look here; Lift the little flap up and you'll find the bleeder valve http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/Bob_Myers/?action=view&current=VID00005.flv
  10. If brakes work somewhat when dry and near not at all when wet they are either contaminated with oils or glazed. Replace them with the aforementioned EBC and you'll be very happy. Replace all three at the same time and you'll think its a different bike.
  11. Hows that coming along? Any talk of removing or fusing it yet?
  12. Yea, and it had an oil leak too. Must've got the oil leak fixed.
  13. The pictures taken on the slab where the orange sign poles are, is that in Albuquerque, NM? Haven't been there since 89. Sure looks familiar.
  14. As is your right to pay an unjust ticket, I would have to exercise my right and fight it. Especially with the info you just gave about the cop/manager/ wanted man. Seems like harassment since he grabbed you and not people who were ahead and behind you. I would make that a relative point at my trial.
  15. Interesting. I would like to see this method. Sounds safer and easier than what I did. When I did the 86 I sat it on the center stand, slid a 4 foot(app) long piec of 4" channel iron under the front wheel. I then tied off the handlebars side to side like I was tying it down for transport, then used a hoist to pick the rear up far enough to remove just as you did, with only removing one muffler. Pure redneck engineering, but it worked and was very stable.
  16. I'm glad I had not read any thing about needing to remove bags when I replaced the rear on the 86. I may have done it the hard way if I had. MikeM I do believe that T&E would be my new point of sale from now on too. If you start showing your face and buying nik-knaks from them they'll start doing you even better as a loyal customer.
  17. 3 guys, in a cage? I used to run Seattle to Savannah turn every week by myself, 6500 miles, was home in Ky every Saturday night. Did that for 18 months, solo. Missed 2 weeks of that turn. Easy. If I only had the time I would try it solo in my pickup
  18. If I only had the time, I would be there. I can't take off for a whole week though so i guess I'll have to pass
  19. Got sweet tea? I don't work any where without access to the tea pitcher.
  20. that would be enough light temp to melt paint on a car in front of you at a stoplight, or see double life as a tanning bed
  21. Post us a link for some of those that don't require you to buy 5 or 10k pieces please. All I can find are special run houses. If I needed 10k I would run them myself. I need maybe 25 or 30 pieces.
  22. Several years ago I took my then 20 year old son to the AMA museum and on the way home he fell asleep. I tried talking to him via the intercom but he was dead to the world asleep. I nudged him with my elbow and when he awoke he jerked up and sideways, we went from right hand track of right lane to emergency strip on the left side of the interstate when he did that. When i got control, and back into my lane we got off the next exit and he went for a walk, ( a very long walk actually) that combined with his life flashing before his eyes was enough to keep him awake for the other 2 hours home.
  23. McMaster-Carr does not list such an item, Fastenal website nor catalog list either. Even if you retap to sae you are limited to small sizes only with SS and socket head. And even then they are realllllllly pricey, like $20.00 each or more. You may be faced with 2 options here, drill them out larger and use right hand on both sides, or go to the dealer where those came from originally. If you are not holding mirrors and such then retapping for a right hand would be no biggie. I too would like to have stainless left handers for several projects I have in works and i really don't care if they are metric, although 10mmx1.25 would be perfect. Good luck, keep us posted as to what you find
  24. Fell down the bleachers when I was in school(yes Dave, they had bleachers back then), broke mine too. It was several weeks of learning new ways to sit and lie in bed, butt, it did heal and I only vaguely remember what a pain it was to ride my then nearly new '67 Honda S90. I do know it was several weeks before I could actually ride it though. If memory serve me, squatting down and then standing was usually enough pain rush to make you pass out.
