  1. Red River Gorge is located about 12 miles East of Natural Bridge State Resort Park. We can about be guaranteed it will be wall to wall people there for the weekend. Just off the top of my head, and Dennis be sure and chime in if you think this is too much to pack in for a day. We have led groups on a "tour" through there many times. With exit 110 as Point "A", we would ride US 60 to Winchester, through town to KY15, to "Bowen", where we would turn left on Ky 77, proceed through the NADA tunnel(it was carved out in the late 1800's for a logging operation that went on there and later converted to a KY hiway), up to Ky 715, the Sky Bridge rd, and out to Pine Ridge, continueing on 715 to Zachariah and left onto Ky11 to Ky 498, right on that one until we met up with Ky52, or, we could continue on 11 to Beattyville, there is a good sized DQ:cry: on top of the hill before entering Beattyville. Onward to Ky52, right to Irvine, then Richmond, and finally back to Lexington roughly 170 miles as best I remember. Or, back to the original theme for this ride, we could actually ride roads closer to Lexington and drive through the areas where the horse farms are. I have called Claiborne Farm and Lanes End Farm and neither are receiving visitors that weekend. Knowing a little more of how many bikes will actually be present may make splitting into 2 groups more relaxing for every one involved. High probability that there will be 3 of us, Tina, Ray(guy who works for us) and myself. With Dennis taking half and Tina and I taking the other half. This is not something I am recommending nor advising against. Just personal observation is that 6 bikes are easier to coordinate stops and pic opportunities for than 12 bikes would be.
  2. Factory brace is very thin and hollowed out in the back. The guy who works for us can actually bend one of those with his bare hands.
  3. Only one I can come up with right now. There used to be a KOA camground on exit 99 but I can't find any info on what it is called now, or if it still there. Here is one to start with though; Riverfront Rv (859) 626-1330 8950 Old Richmond Rd Lexington, KY 40515
  4. Actually that is how we ride, have never been lost, almost late once. It is hard to get lost if you don't care where you are going.
  5. I might advise you to start calling for reservations now. If you pm me with a number for an acceptable rate I'll make the calls for you, since I'm local. Advise how many rooms, how many nights, how close to restaurants, etc. I will get best deal I can and pm back the figures.
  6. Until I actually talk to Dennis and see what his last plan is I won't make a solid plan. I know you do not want to see the same things both days. While I am at this I do have a couple questions, what type roads do you guys want to ride? When we rode the "bridge ride" with you I was right at home on those roads, is that your preference for roads? Easy enough if so.
  7. I WAS there, and wish we could do it over again. It ended way too early
  8. I have bid, but it looks like I am not going to prevail
  9. Tina and I really enjoyed this vid, even with the shaky start!
  10. Picture of one please?
  11. My hat is off to you on that one!Anyone that can stay on an FZ for over 12 hours is definitely certifiable!
  12. Yep, 82º here yesterday, I had to push start my86 twice. Lotsoffun. not Put me on the short list if there is room, advise when they will be ready and I'll paypal.
  13. That is exactly what I thought in the video you posted week before last! I'm sure glad others can hear it too. When, not if, but when there is a full cd of his music I want one(or more)!
  14. You've had some time to really use this. Still working like it did last summer?
  15. Did an Iron Butt saddle sore and a bun burner last August, part "a" of the trip was Paris, Ky to Laramie Wyoming, 1290 miles, in 20 hours, finished the trip (part "b")to Salt Lake City at a total of 1734 in 29 hours. If the VR had held more fuel it would have been a better mph average, stopping every 125/150 was the pits. We did all but 2 stops and never left the saddle, splash and run.
  16. Hmm, this I would like to see pictures of.
  17. I recognize it now, the little lane that you see on the right is Coulthard Ln, it is only about 3 miles north of Paris.
  18. In the picture where you are 3 abreast, if you come on down that road to the next stoplight(11 miles) and turn left, I'll be home and the coffee will be ready in 5 minutes. Don't recognize the road with the double yellow line and hill.
  19. bumpers:rain2: here now
  20. The radio itself could be mounted any where it can get air, yet be out of the elements. The face/control unit is remote so it can go any where up to 30 feet away. It snaps onto the holder and by using a cat5 cable and male/male connector you can easily facilitate just unplugging and walking away.
  21. Can i do that? I would think a bunch of those being sold here would not be looked on as favorable. i'll contact Don and see how this should be handled
  22. So, we were at a lull in our work, waiting on a PO to start the next project, so look what I whipped up for a gentleman in Wis. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/Bob_Myers/P4140011.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/Bob_Myers/P4140012.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/Bob_Myers/P4140013.jpg
  23. I bought a wrecked Vulcan for Tina, she looked at it while it was still wrecked and said she would never give up her KZ550 or her 454LTD for "that thing". When it was finished and she sat on it for the first time the look in her eyes was what dreams are for. We sold both of her other bikes! Now she swears she will never give up the Vulcan, ever, not for anything. Since she is my riding partner and bestest friend, I let her have her way. Point being, I tried after wards to convince her to get a new bike, the more I harped on it the more she withdrew from me on that and other things. I saw what was going to happen and dropped the subject. Maybe some day she will want another bike, maybe some day you will want another bike. Until that day comes I support your decision 100%.
  24. That is so cool, I am quickly becoming a fan of your work, there is to much natural talent in your vids, such great subject lines. This one is by far the best one I have seen of yours. Watching this you can almost feel the things that Mr Moore is singing of. And speaking of Mr Moore, he has a Kristofferson influence that really makes you listen closely.
  25. Bring the engine and oil up to operating temperature first.
