  1. Ah, so you are using the 555 as a key for the relay. I was wondering how you could switch ac(audio) with a dc device. I have been tinkering with this for several months trying to accomplish this with no external relay. There actually is an IC on the market that will switch this and handle about 10 watts of power. Problems are twofold though, it is SM, about the size of a pencil eraser and only available one place in the world with a 10k mini order. If I knew what to do with the other 9,998 of them I would order!
  2. I have looked the schematic over several times, I do not see the out put or the second input. That IC and components should fit into a 3" x 5" x 1" box shouldn't it?
  3. Downsize it a bit, put it in one of the Radio shack plastic project boxes and sell, sell, sell! I have done a similar thing but it was no where as neat or sophisticated!
  4. Weather is looking funky down south; http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=40511 http://www.wunderground.com/US/TN/Knoxville.html I'm at work already, been here a while, the shafts are looking pretty involved, don't know if even 11am will work
  5. We have an emergency breakdown to make a couple shafts for, when you get to Lexington call me at 253-2259 and I will advise if I can ride to the state line with you.
  6. Thunderstorms expected across most of this area tomorrow. http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=40511
  7. If moving the wires helped then it is an inductance problem. Try rerouting your wires as to where it comes across a plug wire or near the coil that the offending wire is as close to 90º as possible to the wire that is feeding your voltage. Possibly even try running a shielded feed line. Make sure the shield of the feed line is grounded on both ends.
  8. I stopped smoking a couple time in late 80's, after smoking since 1970. On January 17, 1993 at 11am I quit. Cold turkey, almost 2 packs the day before, none since. Second and third day were the worst. My wife smoked on through the years until December of 07, she too quit cold turkey.
  9. If you come down US 68/US62, in Maysville at the intersection of hi ways 62 and the AA hi way there are a couple motels, if you turn left there and head towards Maysville there is a Super8 or Motel 6 behind the McDonalds at the second light. If you get away from Cleveland by lunch you'll be there just before dark, roughly 200 miles, maybe 7 hours if you hang all 2 lane
  10. I live in Paris, Ky, which is on the path(US 68) that Dennis has just indicated. If you want or need any thing don't hesitate to call, my number is in the assistance log, I have truck, trailer, tools, etc. I may even get lucky and be able to ride with you to the Tennessee line, won't know that until Friday eve.
  11. That is setup on a 9" Ford axle it appears. It has 4 bolts the hold the pinion bearing retainer in and this appears to be mounted there. What axle are you using on your trike? One of the popular units is a 7½ Ford, like a Ranger/Mustang/BroncoII. It would be easy enough to manufacture. Noisy as the devils band but effective.
  12. I'm with you on this, for sure. I have been told many times the municipalities do not get to keep any portion of traffic ticket revenue, but it does figure into their grant from state/federal for next year. For the record, on the interstate I ride with traffic up to about 10 over. On ALL other roads, I try to stay right on indicated speed limit, knowing my Vulcan is about 6 fast and the Venture is about 4 fast, so I am staying under limit.
  13. Sorry, I fixed it. i did manage last night to get them to stop overflowing, but now one of them appears to be dead, so off they come again, for the third time.
  14. So, those are 32mm carbs on ebay? I can't mod it to use those, now if this were mine,,,,not only would it get big carbs but the cams too. That is very impressive what you did.
  15. This the one advertised as supercharged?
  16. This guy in Ohio has 5 sets of carbs, all claim to be 2000 or newer. Looking at the pics he has there are subtle diffrerences, the diaphragm covers on mine are chrome, with 4 bolts, and the enrichment knob is cable operated. The 2000 units appear to have plastic covers with 2 bolts and the enrichment plungers appear to be a solid rod activation. Can't see the throttle position sensor so unknown as to whether it is same or will interchange. Any one care to hazard a guess at any chance they'll work?
  17. This guy has 5 sets of carbs, the whole setup is cheaper than Yamaha wants for the needle/seat set for all 4 carbs. Just to clarify my find, it is not a free bike, but just like the 86 I have, who knows how long I need to "keep it rideable" for him:mo money:. I have had the 86 for 10 years now, with the actual owner only putting 450 or so miles on it during the whole time.
  18. Friend has this 99 Royal Star TD, been sitting uncovered in his garage for9 years. He has had out one time, put 43 miles on it. Bike has a total of 1,402 miles on it. I have never seen such a filthy specimen in my life! I have it in my garage now, trying to resurrect it. I need 4 carb kits. ANy one know where they can be bought without going to the stealership? This thing will be a beut once I get the ½" of dust and crud off of it. Dang its good to have friends who own stuff they either don't want or are scared of.

  20. Have you ever got home yet? Not sure I have ever seen an original
  21. Does the 1st gen and 2nd gen use same headset wiring?
  22. And this is a factory mic? Sounds wired wrong to me. I had a mic for my 1st gen before I got helmet sets, a radio shack mic if memory serves me, it would work like that until I rewired it.
  23. They have a what?!?!
