  1. Yea, me too!
  2. Its not mounted backwards, the tongue is on the wrong end.
  3. How in the world do you get that Sportster on there when it quits? Man, you must be a champion packaging guy.
  4. Tina already calls me that, how wonderful it must be to lead such a sheltered life!
  5. Finally , after shipping several sets I have a picture(or2) of these. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/Bob_Myers/DSCN1895.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/Bob_Myers/DSCN1894.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i301/Bob_Myers/DSCN1893.jpg
  6. I see nothing wrong with doing that. My only hesitation is the adhesive used on the piece attached to the cover, and the effects of whatever chemical is used to remove the adhesive.
  7. If I am shooting video with my handheld and I meet a bike I wave with the right hand. Is that so strange? Maybe someday I can buy a Drift cam like Snaggle has and I won't need both hands to operate it
  8. Formica counter tops make fantastic workbenches, either build a stand or buy used kitchen cabinets. Or, if you are lucky find a laboratory or such remodeling and get their metal under counter cabinets. Used to be a place in Lexington that sold standard 25½" wide stuff for $5.00 per foot. Best I'm finding now is about 10 per foot.
  9. Dennis, where is the covered bridge located? Looks familiar but cannot quite place it. Yea, I would rather been with you too versus here working all day both Saturday and Sunday. I am near sure I saw you guys fly by my house Saturday morn around 10;40 or so.
  10. BG parkway to Versailles, pick up US 62 in Versailles, run that all the way to Columbus. From Versailles during a week day you can make it in about 3½ hours, give or take about 30 minutes. Or, since you are only a feww feet off of US68, run 68 to Maysville and then 62 to Columbus, maybe 6-6½ hours from Hoptown. Back when I was trucking I would go 68/62 from Paris and beat the guys to Columbus who went to Cinci on 75 and up 71
  11. These aluminum stubs/mounts are likely to be called "Snagglemounts" from here out. If any one is interested there will be several pairs shipping today. One is drilled/tapped 5/16-18 as per Snagglemounts father:rotf:, and the other is plain. If my bolts get here in time there will be a button head screw in place to close off the threads until you want/need them.
  12. I'd love to see some video from this camera, I'm always looking for a better cam for our trips. I use a FLIP now, which is fantastic-for a handheld, only records an hour though
  13. Not too much vibration there?
  14. I'll have material tomorrow! Should have a few ready to ship on Friday.
  15. And when you decide to do that you may consider giving some earlier warning! Even though I am still quite busy finishing our move/building and filling the storage building I would have jumped in with you at I75 exit 95 in Ky and rode to Ktown and back with you.Had no idea what time you would have made it through here or I may have been waiting to join!.
  16. Yep, I really like grouprider!
  17. Presumptuous of me to think so but I also figured Kingston Pk, Knoxville Tn Unless he reads of the road closing he may be somewhat dismayed at the extra 3 or 4 hours it'll take to get where he wants to go. if he is going to Kingston Tn then US 27 from Somerset would be the way to go any way
  18. Here is a link to the latest detour advice from the DOT; http://www.wkyt.com/home/headlines/Revised_detours_for_southbound_I-75_151947785.html
  19. And I know even less about this wood butchering stuff but,, the kit builder told us to leave a total of 2" on the ridge for air gap, from gable to gable. Had we closed it up to zero there would have been only 3/4" overhang. Since he sheeted his with OSB(why?) then he likely has no air gap at the ridge. Common practice there is to butt it up tight isn't it? When I built my Gamble roof garage 18 years ago that is what I was told to do, then cut vents in roof. I'm quite sure that neither of the methods I mention are actually code or common building practice, just did what I was told like a good little sheeple. I am illiterate when working with wood.
  20. My metal was 1 3/4 too long, before we cut we ask the metal/truss supplier why it was long. They claimed just what Trader said, so snow and ice will slide off over the gutter without ripping it down. With a 5" gutter there is still over 3" of clearance for the water to drop, if it is coming off the roof hard and fast enough to overshoot that then we have more problems than just gutter effectiveness!
  21. Every time another person comes into the picture the problems compound exponentially. Two people aren't bad, 4 people may make it interesting enough. Are you aware that I75 is closed on the Southbound side in Tennessee?Detour out 25E and then south into Lake City. Count on very heavy traffic. Another option would be to get off at the 59 exit in Ky and go to Somerset, then south on US27 to Wartburg, left on 62 to Oak Ridge, then the Pelissippi Pkwy back to I 40. North bound I75 side is open, should be no delays
  22. Not being real familiar with the forks, even though I did swap springs and had them totally apart for seals(years ago), I seem to remember a spacer in the lower side between the springs. could you not pull that spacer out and reinstall it above the upper spring instead of below?
