  1. Thanks for the updates all. My wife was sure I had been surfing some where i didn't need to be, and picked up an internet STD
  2. Ok, that certainly works around the problem. I just answered a PM and used your idea. After first word, hi tenter then backspace and all worked well. Why does this work?
  3. Running Chrome browser on 'puter at work, tried this at home, same problem on IE & Chrome. It is only on the VR website that I see this. If i reply to a PM my spacebar does not work. After typing out message I can use arrows to go back to where word should have break and space bar works. Has any one else seen this before?
  4. Matt,Istill have 2 left of the last batch i ran. They are not polished, but can easily be if you desire. If you want, PM me and we'll arrange shipment
  5. It should work OK, if they ever actually get any Honda ones to sell. Harley has been available for about 3 weeks, Honda is still on the boat some where Both Yamaha and early Honda wiould interchange on headsets, so it should work
  6. Linda Hammond is her name, She got it towed to a shop. And when they started to diagnose it, the dang thing fired right up, and has been running fine since. As best i can tell that was yesterday(Monday) when it started running again. And yes, it is an 1100 shadow. As of an hour ago she was in Idaho,, heading west
  7. One of the very first ones I made went to Oregon,, and this may very well be it or a clone of it. I may have stumbled upon those 3 or 4 near finished ones i spoke of a while back. Let me know if you are serious and I'll check the place where I saw them last
  8. the way the plenum looks to be design mimics a tunnel ram type setup, if there was a way to reduce the interior volume of that, with plates or baffles to make it as small as possible you may find your carb adequate for the job. Another thought is to used a staged 2 barrel like on a 4cyl pinto/mustang/ranger, they will give excellent throttle response up to about 2/3 throttle because the secondary only comes on the last third of travel.
  9. What inside piece do you need?
  10. If you have nothing and want it all,, all at once the total investment is at about $580. There are cheaper ways to do it also, like one piece at a time, and such. What ever you do, it is recommended that since you have nothing you may as well start with what is the best on market today so that unlike me you won't buy 2 or 3 different setups looking for the "one" that works for you. The 20S will do multitasking, in that it will have a hot intercom all the time and still allow you to listen to your music via either my harness and module or about any other listen only device you wish to pair. And to this, you can add the Zump BT if youi have Zumo, and the telephone if you wish. If you add the phone, and it rings, should you choose to answer it, it will cancel all other inputs and you hear it alone, when you end the call everything comes back on as before. The SMH5 and SMH 10 both are excellent units but unless Sena has developed some fancy new software they only do one task at a time, either intercom or music, but the phone still works, and cancels every thing else.
  11. Now would be the time to convince her to turn loose of the funds needed to upgrade to BT for both helmets.I have negotiated with a Sena Dealer for a really good deal on a pair of Sena 20S, today they are basically the best on the market, tomorrow may bring something new and better and we'll move on to that then.Presently you can save near $100 on a pair, making my $75 harness better than free. With the harness sale you get the dealer name and code we need to access this deal. You can convert just her helmet to BT, and use the harness to adapt a second unit to the bike, she could then be unwired and you wired. Is using the Cb important to you? If not I do have a much cheaper alternative to allow listening only, to anything the bike will do now
  12. I have a cable that will plug into the 5pin and a "elcheapo" BT unit you can pair with the Sena to hear whatever the bike stereo will do.
  13. Wish i could get away with only 3 times. I carry a manual with me on each bike, I will constantly need to refer to something in it! No one reading ever "sticks" with me You referenced an aux cable earlier. Does your bike have this, what does it feed to? Do you have a 5pin headset connection? i have a cheap alternative if all you want to do is listen, and have a 5 pin connector for headset
  14. very few GPS will connect with Sena. You have to be able to enter a code for them, usually it is "0000". No where/way to do that on Sena, or a Garmin 765t. You would think they would program that in under the GPS or second phone pairing option. you would never get it in time but,,, I do make a harness that will plug into the 5pin headset and allow you to become toatally BT, ven transmit on CB if you have one The Zumo will pair to your Sena, but they are almost as much as another motorcycle
  15. But you got a 2 year warranty with your purchase. 85% of the ebay sellers are selling stuff that Sena will not warranty. Had a long drawn out battle with a seller and Sena to learn this. Be sure and fully charge the units before use, and register them with Sena , download and install the latest firmware. You will be happy with them
  16. I have been looking for actual info on your units, and can find nothing as to what system they use. IF you can pair those with a Sena SMH10 then yes, the Cb becomes useable again via BT
  17. It is possible that the person on the other bike could pair with the SMH10 mounted on your bike also, and could theoretically talk on your cb if you do the PTT for them, and listen to your music
  18. Yes Don, Sena claims a distance much greater than i have ever seen work, maybe 100 yards separation at most. Clive, The drawback to using SMH10 on the helmet is exactly what you described, you have to "tap" the jog button to turn intercom off or on, the 20S does not do that, it is capable of multi tasking, and depending on how you adjust the settings it will either mute the music or drop the level when intercom talks. Like all Sena if the phone is paired and it rings it take priority over everything
  19. That is correct Clive,, "somehow". it is all magic, with smoke and mirrors, and like everything else electronic, if you let the smoke out, it stops performing magic for us. No, you were not left behind, i just had not explained it concisely.
  20. Yes, the 5 was a good unit when tested, but wasn't tested hanging on a helmet. If you wish to do so, I am not trying to con you into buying my setup or any one elses, I will explain as best I can what I have learned, the long, expensive, hard way. If you have Sena 20s on both your and wifes helmet, we'll call them 1 for you and two for her cause I'm lazy and slow when typing. And you have this SMH10 mounted on my modified clamp you can ; 1) PAIR 1 AND 2 then you hear her, and she hears you just like wired intercom 2) PAIR 1 AND 2, together and then pair#1 to the slave unit(SMH10). You hear music and Cb have ability to talk on Cb, although she will hear you yak on CB, she hears only you when you talk through the intercom. 3) Pair 1 and 2, pair 1 to the slave, and 1 to your phone. She can then either listen in on your music or plug in an MP3 player to her headset, or ride along in near total quiet. With the SMH10 and adapter harness you can plug into 5 pin din connector and do all of what the wired headset will do, or as little as you wannt, in either helmet, at any time. Plus answer the phone. If your GPS is BT enabled, you can pair to it too, or leave it wired as you have now.
  21. The SMH10 module goes onto a helmet clamp i modify and build a small circuit board to adapt to the bike. So, no SM10 needed. SM10 would work,, if you don't care to key two PTT switches at once or build a latching relay system to interface to the bike PTT. Still a couple more dollars than the harness I do and a SMH10 Sena does not list a SMH20, they do however have a 20S. It is far and above a better unit than the SMH10, it will multi function, as in intercom and media connection simultaneously, SMH10 will not. SMH10 does one thing at a time, and it does it very well, I wanted 2 things at once though.I was sold a set of SMH 10 with the information it would multi task. I kept them less than a month, bought a Sena 20S and been very happy And yes, you only need one of these adapters with a SMH10 module to pair to your headsets. You then can do via BT anything the wired headsets would do, plus answer the phone and have the audio in your helmet
  22. You would only need one of these, providing you both have BT helmet headsets. The Bt headset will allow you to operate phone also without the background noise associated with just linking it to the GPS. I have negotiated with a dealer who will sell the Sena 20s as a pair, and the needed SMH10-M01 module to people I send to them for far less than most dealers are even paying for the units/ With my adapter, and the 220S headsets, plus one SMH10-M01 you are at $575 total, shipped in the US. The Sena units, being bought from dealer actually carries a full 2 year warranty.
  23. To revive an old thread,,, yes this can be done today, using Sena unit, and paired to about any BT headset your helmet has. I have produced one cable adapter thus far, plugs into 5 pin headset cord, driver or passenger and will allow you to become fully BT enabled. If you have a Goldwing, then the one I do plugs inline and the headset cable can be deleted if you wish
  24. This will plug into the headset cable and allow a BT helmet to do anything you could do when wired, including talk on the CB and answer the phone. Of course the key ingredient here is to have BT headsets in your helmet(s).
  25. prednisone is likely what they injected. I am allergic to benadryl so that is what i get if the ivy gets me. One thing I learned about the stuff is to take a COLD shower, and use dawn dishwashing detergent to clean any area you think you may have exposed. The cold water closes the pores and dawn will dissolve the oil.
