Sorry --Forgot about the trailer, to much on my plate. If anyone is interested--I live just west of Toledo. (Swanton) About 15 miles off of 475 or 80/90 ,either one. The trailer is about 1 mile from me. The trailer is made of canvas and has an add-a-room. 419-654-2969 is my cell number. Gil Pictures in the first post.

Boy--talk about HD riders bashing other types of bikes and / or riders. This forum is open to the public. Same as standing up at a poker run and speaking into a microphone as far as I am conserned. I for one don't care what you ride, as long as you ride and treat me like you would like to be treated. Everyone can't get along with everyone, that would be almost impossible. Yes--some bikes are ugly or look cheaply built--and I may state my oppion, but I try to do it in a nice way. As for saying HD's are junk---Anyone reading on this web site that didn't know anything about the RSV might come up with the same impression about the second gen's. Just look at all the posts about the little problems with them and the warrenty/dealer complaints. Never had all these issues with my 86, sorry, and didn't hear much about alot of problems with the 86 and newer 1st gen's. Maybe I'm hard of hearing. This thread wasn't started to create a debate about how good or bad a certain make of bike is. Was just wondering why HD and Honda and maybe some others are ahead of Yamaha in introducing their 2010 models. As for the 09 RSV, I couldn't find it on a dealer floor anywhere around here untill April of 09. On another note--I was telling my wife today on our ride, that I feel like I'm taking 3 steps back looking and comparing the other tourer's to our 86 VR. The only bike that I haven't looked at closely is the BMW.

Not on the touring models---but at least they have all the gauges, EFI, and a CD player,6 speed trans. Yamaha and Harley both have proven engines. I haven't found a bike out there yet that doesn't have quirks and a few problems. The RSV, if it didn't have the 5 yr warrenty , would be a problem for the less mechanical enclined. Some say the Harley is just as bad. My 86 VR that I love, I can't get parts for anymore unless I go to fleebay. The Harley's, At least you can still get parts thou they may be expensive. They HD's, you have more than 2 paint options for each yr. Sticker price on an 09 HD was $3000.00 more than an RSV yesterday, and you have to remember, that on trade or selling you will get that back in the end. I like both bikes---I bought my 86 new, and I hope I don't have to keep another new bike 23 yrs but I am looking at both right now. Of course, a 23 yrs old harley in good running condition is worth alot more than my venture.

2010 Harleys are on the showroom floor. Whats wrong with Yamaha ? People were looking and pricing and trading yesterday.

Had mine out 3 times today. Put about 200 miles on. It's midnight and just got home. Heading for breakfast about 9:30 in the morning. -
Been thinking of a new bike for the last year. Hope Yama lets something out of the bag by the end of Sept. Right now its a tossup between yam. and the ultra classic. Sometime between Dec. and Feb. I'll really be looking.

Prayers being sent for a speedy recoverery. Thoughts and prayers with you and the family also.

Bump Bump Camper is still for sale if anyone is interested.
-
Now I know why the two of you wanted a camper trailer for behind the bikes. Looks like you two are doing fine.

When in Memphis, you need to see Graceland if you haven't been their before. Bowling Green, Kentucky--Corvette Museum is a nice stop also.

If I agreed with you, we would both be wrong. I would be tempted if the second gen came in Marshall Gold and Black.

Really have to watch my mouth on this one. Carry permits are issued so you can protect yourself from bodily harm, its self defense, protecting loved ones. If I felt threatend, I sure wouldn't roll my window down, I would roll it up and shoot though it if nesessary. Everyone thinks that they are the most important person on the road or wherever. As an example, I waited one day for a person to come out of a gas station for 15 min. , their car was parked at the pumps and I was next in line. After awhile I thought maybe they were in the restroom and needed to be there. I had the boat trailer on behind and that station its hard to back up to move. When the lady did show up, she didn't come from the station, but from the ice cream shop next door. I told her what I thought of her in a nice way and when she told me off I told her off in a royal way. She really didn't know or understand what I was so upset at. She and her ice cream was more important than blocking the pumps. This woman who shot the man, needs to be put in jail, and an example made of her and a statement made to all that just because someone yells at you, its not a cause to shoot them. As for confronting people, we all need to be extrememly careful and watch what we say and how we say it, or better yet, just turn our other check and thank god that nothing happened as far as an accident and that we are able to still ride. Well , you all got more than my 2 cents worth that time.

Its been 3 weeks, are you and Dale still recovering ? PM being sent.

I had to watch what I posted so this would not go south. Son and I love to listen to his songs as we both listen to country. Like so many said, Sometimes truth hurts.
-
Ok--now you got us all wondering what names she has in mind. Give them up
-
The guy has guts singing a song like that. Alot of his songs are very truthful. Son and I both thought it was a funny vidio.

Just call her----STAR.

Boy--I know how Craig feels. Monday morning on a ride at the international rally, I hit a dog going about 40. I had just came out of a small curve in the road and the dog came out of a ravine from my right. I swerved to the left to the center line and the dog went right back to the ravine and I hit the ptt and said dog on right, about that time the dog came back left and I went left again and hit him anyway, the front tire went into the air but missed him with the back tire. The dog went howling into the ravine while my front end went into a bad wobble as well as the whole bike. Buzzman behind kept calling asking if we were ok, but I was trying to keep the bike upright. Lucky we didn't go down. After I got the bike straighted out and slowed down I told Buzzman we were fine and that I would stop to check the bike ASAP. About 3 miles down the road we found a place to pull over. Bike was fine. We did not go back but we all felt badly for the dog and lucky not to go down. In Ohio, if you hit a dog and do damage to your vehicle, the dog owner insurance has to pay for all the damages. Its just like hitting a horse or steer. I know this because I had an arguement with a dog owner after I hit his dog and I appoligized. He told me to go to h*** and said he wouldn't pay, said it was my fault with skid marks showing the swerve. Called the cops and explained and he paid 1500.00 for damages to our Sunbird GT. My insurance man said that in the swerve, if I would have hit a tree or gotten injured and went to the hospital, that the owner of the dog would have been held responsible for all expenses, period. I don't know for sure, but I would be very surprised if all states didn't do the same. Dogs, cats, horses, steers, etc., are the owners responsablity and the owner is held resonsible for any damages they cause if they get loose. Craig---glad your ok and don't feel bad.

I enjoyed the post also. Don't stop because of someone else. I'm like Squid---I have typed some things as a response and them reread them and delete them because I thought they might cause trouble. Now I just read and try to type possitive things. Keep posting-I hadn't even heard of this untill now. Thanks
