  1. Hardware store's selll a little 4 cycle pump that you can hook a hose to and pump the water out. You would be suprised at how munch it pumps. With all the water it may be better at this point not to try elec.
  2. It was on the news here the other day about all the hotels and the bedbug problems they are having. And its not just the cheaper hotels--big chain and expensive ones also. Friend now has bedbug problem after his vacation. We may all be looking for campers to pull behind our bikes soon. You will have great fun camping with it. They are a well made camper.
  3. Waterville which is about 5 miles from me had a funnel cloud but no touch down. North of me Mich had funnel clouds also. Everything went north to east and then southeast all around me.
  4. Boy Dano--my side is hurting from laughing so hard. Wait till Fish read this. And Squid did change my bike's out under my name but I changed it back. Someone else has the name U-turn on here and is active member. when do you go to get your new toy?
  5. Went north of me and then turned alittle south. I could really use some rain though
  6. You have just said what alot of us have been feeling.
  7. So far I see no need for it. Plenty of low end torque. I love the stock hd exhaust tone, don't like load pipes. When I get ready to get things around to pull a trailer, I'll see then. Reread my preveous post. Give it awhile and get used to it,then decide on any engine mods. When you get it home give me a call. We will get together.
  8. :sign funny post:Yea....some people quit living at a young age.
  9. Christo---Give the HD a chance. I've put around 4000 miles on mine and the more I ride it the better I like it. I had some serious doubts the first 1000 miles but once I got more used to it the better. Yesterday was the first time on the expressway and running at 75 mph was awesome. Its a different ride than I'm used to but the low end torque is great. Its not the touring crotch rocket the 86 is but definetly a well thought out tourer.
  10. Just have to go for another ride to forget about it ----Don't matter, laughing is suppose to help you live longer. At this rate,I'll live for a long time.
  11. All I'm going to say is that I bought my Ultra because of personnel taste. I bought my VR new in 86, How many 1st gen owners can say that on this site. It will be passed on to my son when I'm gone from this world. I don't bash the RSV and will defend it for the great tourer that it is,but for my taste Yam needs to step up alittle to the plate. When they do, I'll look at the RSV again. Look at the price of a Wing, and alot of members here are switching to it also. (Look under my name to see what I ride.) Because I still own the 86, I'm a member on this site. Its not what you ride its that you ride. People's taste change over the years, but we make friends on this site and at meet and eats and rally's. I believe this site will always be dedicated to the Yam. in the forseeable future, but who knows beyond that.
  12. I think you guy's taught him well at the IR.
  13. Boy--I take my wife on a 200 mile ride tonight, come home and log in and I find that I'm getting blamed for something. I wasn't even home. And I'm sticking to my story.
  14. Glad you made it home safe and you survived 6 flags. Nice to see you two and the kids again.
  15. I remember when Jap. bike first started having the headlights on all the time. I also remember when car came out with daytime running lights. At first both were very visable--now how many people are use to it and don't notice. Now you see car's without daytime running lights. I do notice a difference when on the Ultra with the front running lights on in the daytime with cars stopped at intersections. They seem to notice me more than when on the VR. People get used to seeing things and don't notice them after awhile. How many riders are now wearing construction vests so the are more visable? Ohio was thinking of trying to pass a bill that made it a law that MC riders had to wear one. Don't like that idea.( I don't look good in floresent orange or green.) If it helps you get seen and is legal then by all means use it if you want.
  16. Don't even try 6th gear unless you are doing at least 65. If you rode in 4th gear doing 35mph on the yam you will need to be in 3rd with the harley. (just an example) It handles great at low speed, parking lots. Throttle response is slower when you twist but you get used to it and learn to give it gas alittle sooner. Saddle bags are alittle small, wish they were bigger. Two leather jackets just about fill one. Compared to my 86VR it won't lean as far over in the corners, but you get used to it. AS far as accessories---Trunk rack and bag( looking for bag now for mine) Kuryakyn highway pegs---4526-for average hieght riders. Made to clear lowers. I'm also looking at locking doors for the lower glove boxes. The one great thing about the harley is that you can find accessories galore to make it you own. Make sure the gas tank mod has been done-recall-no charge Front tire--not a recall but if you have a 404 on it will start to cup around 3-5 thousand miles. Tell them you have a vibration in the front and if 4/32 left they will replace it for free with a 408. Factory warrenty is two years and goes by VIN #, no need to have in your name. Your local harley dealer can look everything up for you by VIN#. I have the Sundowner seat on mine and like it better. Sits you a little lower and is not as wide. Wife likes it better also--backrest hits her lower back better. Windshield bag is a must for sunglasses and miss. items. Looks like you have the 404 on the front by the pictures. Tread pattern almost the same, but center bar will run up on the 408.
  17. Randy, didn't hear of your tire toubles at the IR. Glad you found someone near that was so considerate while you were on the road.
  18. Thanks Dick--He is a character, and loves to have fun and joke around.
  19. No problem Cupcake---I enjoy a good laugh:rotfl:
  20. Actually tried to lead a parade in the campground, but they wouldn't follow me.
  21. Was never lost--just always going in circles and missing roads.
  22. Kevin--My wife and I really enjoyed the rally. Great time and got to meet and get to know some of this terriffic family.
  23. Ok guys---I seen it. Can't use the nickname you gave me Dano--someone else has it.
