  1. and it isn't just new bikes that you lose shifter bolts on. How about after around 60k.
  2. bought mine used this past year. No issues w/ fit and finish.
  3. And your butt down. Ron, Thanks for opening up about your deployment. Thanks for serving and doing all the wonderful things you do. We will be thinking of you and your lady and praying for a safe return.
  4. Says in the specs that it does not include Where Am I which allows you to find closest hospitals, police stations, gas stations, etc.... Can't believe something that cost so much back in the day you wouldn't be able to find a gas station if you needed to. It might not be part of Where Am I, but I would think you could find a gas station. Anyone with these models confirm the information? Thanks
  5. Glad I could give you a laugh. The whole gang (except for 1) was on Jimmy Kimmel not long ago. Oldest brother got me into M.P. They are hilarious. And Eric Idle did sing that song at the end of Jimmy's show. We have Life of Brian in VHS. Well the whole ordeal is over and I am w/out a GPS (guess worse things could happen LOL). Had it 3 days and worked for about an hour. I did connect it to the Tom Tom software, but didn't do any updates to it. I did change the car icon and turned off the reminder to not leave it in the car. Lo and behold, it stopped working. Tried 4 recommended fixes and nothing worked. Just got back from Wal-Mart and the lady was like, here is your refund. I asked her if I could exchange it. All she said was they have been getting alot of returns on that model. For something that went on sale for less than a week and for someone who works nights to say that, says alot to me. You would think the majority of returns would happen during the day, but apparently there is enough at night too for her to notice it. She also said I could go back to the electronics section and buy another one. Hmmmmm. I don't think so. Now the price is higher. She actually refunded everything but $1.37. Well there was $.97 shipping so not sure why they kept $.40 (I need to start a facebook page to bring back the cent symbol. lol). I ain't gonna complain though. So in this case, user reviews wins and Consumer Reports is out. Guess they didn't connect it to a computer. :-) so I am gonna start another thread about some older garmin models I am interested in.
  6. Monty Python's song about looking on bright side of life comes to mind. You have a good point. Out a little or out alot. Just don't understand why they wouldn't refund the taxes just because I bought it online. I paid taxes. If I bought it at the store I would have to pay taxes and would expect a full refund. It also said they won't refund shipping. Well it was only $.97, so not gonna complain about that.
  7. From talking to a sears employee, craftsman isn't really craftsman per se. They take another companies design, tweek it a bit and put their stamp on it. Who knows it might be a Larin design anyway. I have a Larin and it works ok. No hydraulic failures but there are 2 legs (one on each side) that as you lift it up, they drop down into the holes to hold it at that position. I have a difficult time when getting the bike back down on the ground. When I push on the pedal, one leg will stay down and the other one will go up so I have to pull the one leg up and do it again. I don't like this because you are in essence circumventing a safety feature. There is a bar that runs across from one side to the other. This bar connects the pedal to those legs. That is bent, I have tried bending it back but doesn't seem to help. Also I think the pedal itself is bent as well.
  8. Still riding to work mostly. They are talking about snow later this week, so not sure how much longer before I put it up for the winter. Don't mind rain, but cold and rain, not my thing.
  9. Bought this as part of Black Friday from Walmart.com for the wife's car. Consumer reports gave good remarks for the 330S. User reviews were just the opposite and the tomtom forum there are some folks that bought the same model from walmart. Seems as long as you don't update it, you are fine but as soon as you update the maps or add anything like voices the unit goes south. Freezes on the splash screen and what not. Also rechecked the walmart.com return policy. Returnable in 15 days, but they will not refund the taxes I paid. Grrrrrr. Gees I haven't gotten this in my hands yet and I am already having buyers remorse.
  10. Brake Pad, I couldn't find any of the aqua boxes on the link you posted. Thanks Jerry.
  11. Anyone have one or heard of it? Basically you have a non-waterproof electronic device and you put it in this waterproof box. Click on the word Aqua below and it will take you to a web-site I found. Says it will work with any Ram mount. Also says the screen is flexible so you can use the touchscreen. Aqua Box
  12. Saw the '87 today too. Gold is not my color let alone 2 tone gold. But wasn't too bad. Much better than what I thought. They got some work to do on it 1st before they put it up for sale.
  13. Rusty, I know you and Jeff are on your way home. It was sure good to meet you guys and have some lunch before you headed back. Let us know how the ride went going home. Smooth as Silk I am sure Dano. Nice to meet you too. Hoping to get together more at M&E's next year. Here are some pics I took 1st pic: Rusty (Beau-Kat), Jim (Westfield Yamaha sales guy), Bob (Mariner Fan), Jeff (Rusty's friend) 2nd Pic: Rusty and Jim talking about the bike 3rd: kewl emblem 4th: Rusty hopping on for the 1st time and ready to roll 5th: Impromtu M&E at Red Robin in Carmel. Bob (Mariner Fan), Dan (Dano), Rusty (Beau-Kat), Jeff (Rusty's friend), Jerry (Sideoftheroad). I will say what a great friend Jeff is in travelling all that way and back.
  14. They said they had some people calling on the '88 from TX and California as well but saw the add online cycle trader. Well got another tidbit on what they have coming up. Not much, but it is an '87. He said the '88 was so popular they are going to get yet another one besides the '87 they have coming up.
  15. Just bought my '99 last June, replaced shock after 60k miles. So definetly way out of warranty. Got lucky, before it had failed, found a newer (still used) one for $125 on e-bay. It has been working great (so far). I think it was from a '06 or '07 if I remember right.
  16. Replied to your pm. Carmel (the town you go through before Westfield) has gone roundabout crazy so there is some construction in the Carmel area on 431 (Keystone Ave) around 116th St. It isn't too bad last time I was on it. About another mile or 2 after 116th st, Keystone merges with US31 (Meridian). Just head straight up US31. Dealership is a block North from the US31/SR32 intersection. It will be on your left. Called Westfield Yamaha when I got home and they said they are getting another Venture. Almost sounded like they were getting it today. Don't have any details on it yet (year, mileage, etc....) Will see what we can do to all get together for lunch or something. I do have to pick my daughter up from school around that time and my wife has a work related meeting she has to attend. So gotta play things by ear but hope to meet you. BTW did you mention you got the information from this forum? Just curious. Jerry.
  17. Rusty, Let us know when you come pick up. Hopefully I can can meet you. I am off work on Monday
  18. kbb shows retail for $3260. I do know that dealers will add their cost into what they do to get it prepped for sale. If anything needs fixed, mechanic costs, etc... Not sure if anything what they put into it. Wouldn't think they put in over 1k in it. anyway, can use kbb as a purchase point. This is where I lucked out when I bought my '99. Dealer hadn't touched it before I bought it.
  19. Bob, Easy to figure out isn't it. There were 3 Ventures, you and I both have ours correct. Easy fix but I don't live close enough to him to fix it for him, but I will let him know. Thanks ya'll.
  20. Not sure who the manufacturer is, but JC Penney's has a 1gb for $20 and 2gb for $40 on sale now. The 2gb might not be too bad. Plays music and vidoes. Comes with 35 free downloads from emusic.com
  21. If anyone interested you better hurry. Just talked to the dealer again. Apparently someone from Georgia is flying up and someone else (sounded more local) is talking about trading his 650. He was also asking about E1 diagnostics, but thinks they have it figured out. Heck if I had the $$$ would have considered a 2nd scoot myself. Maybe connect them both, put a seat in the middle so I could ride them at the same time. :-)
  22. I know that some dealers will mount them incorrectly. I was on a ride on Saturday and noticed one of the guys had his switched. If the radio antenna is connected to the cb cable and the cb antenna connected to the radio cable, will that cause reception issues with the cb? Here is what we experienced. We would be stopped at a stoplight and we could talk to each other just fine. We hit the highway and there was so much static couldn't make out what we were saying. It wasn't anything like passing over power lines or anything like that. We were next to each other for about 2 hours and it was like that the whole way.
  23. So what is Anti-Dive and what does it do? What is MKII and MKI? Is the Anti-Dive adjustable and how? Thanks
  24. I will have to double check, not sure if that mileage is correct. I could have sworn I heard 50k, but could be wrong. Super clean bike though. I know the dealer has a couple questions since they aren't as familiar w/ the 1st gens. I will see if I can get them and post them for him. I know 1 of them has to do w/ the box that is on the front right side down by the brake caliper. It was something along the lines of if there is a way to make an adjustment. I can't completely tell you what the question is since I don't know what that box is for. Looks like they have the displacement wrong too. 1st Gen
  25. Cuz I looked at my odometer and it ready 66666:scared:
