  1. Jeff. Besides the bike are you bringing any toys?
  2. That would be really cool in a 30 scale drag or funny car. Maybe rig up a small co2 cartridge like from a BB gun and you can has NOS.
  3. I am not going to spend $40 for a report. It's a ripoff. Also was hoping to not ask the dealer to run it so I can make sure I get the whole report. It would take someone that pays for the unlimited report option who would be willing to run it for me. Thanks for the advice though.
  4. If you were closer I would let you borrow mine.
  5. I didn't think those r/c engines you had were that big. lol

  7. Karl, I guess what I am stating is the dealer can only pull up records at that dealer. Since I am in Indiana, say I travel to Ky, get in a minor fender bender and had some work done. An Indiana dealer isn't going to have record of what a KY dealer did. The used car dealer where I saw this car on the Internet stated there are 12 records. Carfax.com says 21. I actually drove by the lot today and saw the vehicle. It is in the bargain row. I don't know about you but the stigma I get when i see bargain row is mechanical issues. It is priced less than what kbb.org says but then again kbb only gave me the option for excellent condition when I go by what a dealer would ask. It is pretty much fully decked out 2005 Chevy Equinox LT with 78.6k miles for less than 10k. From the pics I saw on the Internet and in person it is really nice.
  8. Karl, How does that work? If someone say gets a dent repaired at a non dealer. The repair record is in that non dealer's computer. So how would a dealer find out about it? Just trying to understand how a dealer would have more info.
  9. And that is the part that I agree with. It is only as good as long as someone reports the info. That is the key. If the dealer doesn't report, then it doesn't show. But I don't think it is completely worthless.
  10. I can 1/2 way agree with you. It does have its' flaws. It shouldn't be taken as the bible but I think some people do. I just look at it 1 tool among many to use.
  11. Anyone have carfax that they would be willing to run a report for me?
  12. Jeff, Why can't you get satellite? All you need is a a dish and a space satellite to point it to.
  13. No issues with mine. Had it done at Don's. The whole bike was done. I have attached some pics.
  14. I was going to guess 1500. If it has spokes then it is the S model. I had a 2004 S Retro. Retro just meant the fender was longer. Like what was said before if it is in that rough shape and there aren't any aftermarket accessories then probably 1k. Could always try his luck at a dealer to see what they would give him but I wouldn't expect much more than 7-750. People were buying brand new 2006 models in 2008 and dealers we're heavily discounting them to get them out of the door.

  16. Better hurry up Bob (marinerfan). Might be your last chance to get them.
  17. Hasn't been even 3k yet. If I check my records I would be surprised If over 2k.
  18. I was able to nurse it back home and park it in the garage. Felt like I wasn't going to make it a couple times. I do know it ain't moving now because it is stuck in gear. I can't get it to neutral. I did get it to go down into 1st and also neutral once on the way home which helped at a stop light but before and after that I couldn't get it below 2nd. With me having to get it back home and pushing on the shifter a few times to get it to shift do you think it was tearing up the clutch plates? I had them replaced around 20k miles ago. Would hate to do it again it if it has to be done.
  19. Please correct me if I am wrong I don't think there is a clutch cable but I have a lot of play when pulling in the lever. One day after work my bike did lunge forward despite having the lever pulled all the way in or bike in "neutral". Don't remember which at this point, but I think it was lever pulled all the way in. This morning going to work I had a really hard time upshifting. Downshifting, no problem. Upshifting I have to push down on the pedal 2-3 times and then it will engage. I was at a stop light with lever all the way in and again bike was moving forward. I hope it isn't the clutch as I just had it down around 60k miles. I am around 78k now. Thoughts?
  20. I went out to eBay and found 3 other vettes as the same year. All 3 of them show 85.
  21. Yeah that. :-)
  22. No way the dealer can justify a 24k price tag on a 30 yr old vette unless it is 0 miles and well documented that it was owned by a dead celebrity or has some factory installed option that no other vette of the same make/model/year has. As it is they are looking for a P.T. Barnum or it will just sit there for months on end until they need the real estate space and send it to the auction block where they will get a realistic price for it. If you look at their site they also have a late 70's Lincoln Mark V for 6k. Again not in this economy. Not that great of a color either. At least the vette from the 2nd link is an anniversary edition.
  23. http://www.tomroush.com/inventory-details/title/indianapolis-in-westfield-in-used-1982-chevrolet-corvette/vehicleid/504376135-3004b2 Still a bit high IMO, but much better. If only I had the $$$ http://www.fritzinfishers.com/1978_Chevrolet_Corvette_Fishers_IN_150882095.veh
  24. H-bird. That is my only thing. I use Turtle Wax Ice liquid wash but I don't know if it has any wax additive. What I ended up doing is using Yamaha spray detailer. I sprayed it on the cloth to make sure I didn't get anything on the pinstripe.
  25. Jack. You could have gone to the Oberlin Inn too where most people seem to stay. Could've found someone to help you find your way.
