Like what Rickardracing did, wonder if attaching to a 2nd coil would fix that issue?

Reminds me of the early pc days of like the 386's where you could trick the display to read all 9's. Kept hearing stories of people would take them in to have worked on and get them back w/ all 9's displayed thinking they have increased the processor speed of the chip.

Good reason to have a SPOT if you ride alone

What's a SPOT and how does it work? -
I am looking at one of their tachs right now and I know Baron's has a seperate controller for single fire ignition that will correct an error on RPM's displaying incorrectly. I believe we are a dual fire if I am not mistaken. Just wondering for those who may have installed an autometer tach if you had to use a controller to adjust rpm. Thanks

What is the handlebar diameter on a 2nd gen? Thanks

Yeah, apparently worth nothing and Sr. wants Jr's 20% back for nothing. So. Jr. fired back and said he will buy Sr.'s 80% for nothing. :-) Had to seen the 1st Sr. vs. Jr episode. I am sure that it is out on the web if you really want to see it.

Anyone have one laying around they aren't using and might like to sell cheap? I have a really old Baron's tach mounted to the brake reseviour appx. 9-10 yrs old (goes up to 12k rpm which they no longer sell). I have talked to V7Goose and Bummer (thanks guys for your help and suggestions) and seems it has kicked the bucket. I really can't afford a new Baron's tach and am planning on doing one of Ponch's kit in the future, but in the meantime I would like to replace the one I have since it doesn't work properly anymore w/ another one.

Neighbor is in the biz of selling different vehicles types includes bikes. From most of my talks with him alot of what he sells are bank repos. I can say he is (or was) handling a sell of a former colts player recently so not of it is repo's. He has a stock '04 Midnight w/ 17k and is asked if I thought 7k is a fair asking price. I haven't seen it and plan on it this week, but from what he says it is in good shape nothing major and any surface scratches can be buffed out. To me, I think it seems like a fair price. With this economy, not sure if it will move that quickly though. I just checked kbb and it shows retail $9210 & trade in $6440. Not sure what nada or black book lists it for.

Follow-up to motorcyclist killed in Indy in police crash
Sideoftheroad replied to Mel's topic in Watering Hole
I am at a complete loss of words on this one. I think they said they have removed the investigator in charge for his position. That being said, he should be in jail, awaiting trial for at least vehicular manslaughter. From what I remember hearing the other day, he is free to get behind the wheel again (for now). They waited like 2 hours before he even got the blood drawn then and was over the legal limit. How drunk was he when the accident occurred and what in the world was an on duty officer doing drinking before 11:30 am? I for one am disappointed in Brizzi. -
Honestly no need to make this into a wizzing match (my pipes are in better shape and more expensive than yours). I do agree unless previous attempts were made to work it out between each other, no need to air it out here. Overall if qdude paid for shipping of his pipes to rstd_mn and if rstd_mn paid for shipping of his pipes to qdude, then go back to square one and each pay for shipping of the pipes back to each other. I can understand why he is asking for it since what he got was not what was advertised. I had a similar issue when I had my VTX. I put a H-D fairing on it. Before I traded the bike for the Venture, I took it off to sell. After I took it off, I noticed a scratch that I hadn't seen before. I had posted pics of it and someone said he wanted it. After I noticed the scratch, I sent a pic of it to the perspective buyer to see if he was still ok with it before we completed the trade. Thankfully he was as he was going to have it repainted anyway.

Gotta agree with that. Recently took a 1500+ mile trip. Best $40 I have spent too. Especially when you have a friend take your seat with them to M.D. to have him do it so you don't have to pay shipping. Just guessing if you have to ship it to him cost will be around $80+ Doubt I will ever need the pad from Big Lots. Oh and it isn't a gel pad. It is basically a bunch of rubber squares.

Here are the pics.

I tried for about a year to find them in more than 1 local wal-mart. I never could. Others still had luck finding them on other boards. About a month or 2 ago, they just built a Big Lots in my town and they had them for $10 in their automotive section. If anyone is interested I will check them out to see if they have anymore and I will get them. You will just need to reimburse me for item + shipping. Might end up being around the same cost anyway. Send me an e-mail to lylejt@yahoo.com subject seat pad. If there is enough interest I will get as many as I can (if they have any left). When I was there they had 6 or 7 of them.

Follow-up to motorcyclist killed in Indy in police crash
Sideoftheroad replied to Mel's topic in Watering Hole
Beat me to it Mel. Without knowing the circumstancing causing the prior accidents, I can see a slide in Dec. (snow, etc...) I can even see suspects hitting his squad car, but to hit a concrete retaining wall and a fence??? Again w/out the circumstances but seems to be a pattern. Don't think he should have been behind a wheel w/ the prior accidents. Unfortunately someone(s) has to live w/out a loved one and Bisard just has to live with his conscious. How unjust is that? -
Clutch Fluid - replaced
Sideoftheroad replied to N3FOL's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Is a symptom of this, when starting the bike with the clutch pulled in, the bike moves forward just a tad? The stealer recently changed the front and back fluids and the window is completely filled on the front. Been thinking of taking a turkey baster and sucking some of that out. The bike moving forward just a little bit has only happened a couple times after sitting at work for the day, but makes me wonder. Clutch plates should be good as they were replaced about 1.5 yrs ago and guessing 6-10k miles. -
Well they certainly could be going that route. Like what others have done they could do gloveboxes. I would want one that is lockable. If they put some effort into redesigning the inner fairing a bit by moving the dummy lights from their present location and making them brighter in their new location, that opening would seem to be wide enough for a cd player.

Motorcyclist killed in accident with police officer
Sideoftheroad replied to Mel's topic in Watering Hole
The officer should be held liable in this case. They didn't move and he plowed through them. If he couldn't find an open lane, why not just stop until you get one? Needless death.
