I for the most part over the years have been happy with them. I am not crying over the recent lost of some Fox programming. One side says this and the other says that. Who knows what is really going on. The truth is somewhere in the middle I suspect. I do (well did) watch SOA. I won't be any longer if or until they reach an agreement. If not, oh well. I am not leaving sleep over it. Kids and I did like National Geographic channel though. Just means more Nick Jr. for them. Anyway starting my story now. I am window shopping to either go back to cable or another satellite provider as hoping to find something a bit cheaper for the same channels I like. I wanted to compare the channel lineups from the others vs. Dish. I do this by printing the lineups for each provider. So I am on the Dish Site and do not log in. I click on the learn more button under the current programming (America's top 250 btw). There is a field labeled Region. I enter in my zip code and press the thing that looks like a sideways triangle. To the far right of that in small letters there is a button that says print. I clicked on it which takes me to another page and a print dialog. I click cancel on the print dialog. I scroll all the way to the bottom and in the local channel section I don't get my local channels. I have tried this several times. I have gotten San Fran, Houston, Evansville (at least closer), and tonight DC. Obviously not Indy. So I e-mailed the web-master saying your site ain't working right and here is the steps I took. I get a response saying local programming is not offered in my area. Uh, yeah it is. Part of response to them was did you actually try and do the same thing as me before you responded? So here is the experiment for everyone here. Follow the steps as I did and see if you get the same type of results.

Being in customer service, I was chatting it up w/ a guy that called in. He asked about hobbies so I mentioned motorcycles. He said he has been riding for 40 yrs, he asked what I rode and he started saying how the '95 Venture Aspencade has stator problems from what he heard. After questioning him on it he said, oh I mean '85 Venture Aspencade. Tried to correct him on it, but to no avail didn't work so I just let him think what he wanted to. Didn't get a chance to ask what he rode.

For the classified section could the post be pre-approved before it gets posted? I am sure the other forum admin's could help in the approval process if you get alot of requests. This way for those trying to sell their wares w/out permission, it gets squashed in the approval process and never gets posted.

I think it would be wait and see for me. If a company out of China made them and they held up to weather and such, I probably would consider it for my HF in the future. Just have reservations about buying from China for something like this. I would worry about quality or lead poisoning (j/k).

Were is the best to buy a new tire?

Glad it worked out for you Kevin. -
We had been there for several hours. Kids were getting tired, time to go home and get some dinner. We didn't get to go through it all. If we did, probably would have a couple hundred more pics. password is hotrod enjoy http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc121/lylejt/Places/James%20Dean%202010/

Congrats. Seemed to take forever for our 1st to be delivered. Wife kept pushing and nada, so they did a c-section. Every child after that took less time to deliver. Last one took like 30 minutes from the time we got to the hospital to delivery. He was ready and came out like a kid going down a waterslide. (hope the wife doesn't see my analogy LOL.)

Kevin, I was gonna say what Mel did. They sell Dunlops 50% off all the time. Yes they do get you on install. Have you talked to Mike Smith? He can mount tires now. You can get them from Westfield and have Mike install if you are worried about cost. How bad is it? Can it be put off until the next riding season starts. Just saying could save you some $$$ now by waiting. -
Years back father in law spilt gas on his Nova Deuce which ate the paint. He had maaco paint it and because of the poor quality, he had them redo it. Came out a little better the 2nd time. At least enough for him to live with it. Maybe Waterbug will chime in on a good way to take care of that peeling paint.

I think you were there at the right place, right time by design. God puts people in places on purpose. As you said, lot of people just driving by. Had it not been you, the driver might have gotten up and seen his child. Who knows what would have happened after that. Maybe he would have killed himself. I agree that you should talk to him as well and heal together. You are a great man for stopping and helping him. God will not give you more than you can handle.

Got this e-mail today. My question is what was the price before. $90 for lifetime updates sounds pretty cheap to me, but want to compare to what it was before. Wouldn't sound like such a great deal is say it was $100 before. Now if it was like $250 that's a good savings. We've lowered the price for map updates. Now it costs less to keep your maps updated. This is great news, because streets, highways, and points of interest are constantly changing. So now when you take advantage of our quarterly map updates it costs less to make sure you have access to the most current map data. It’s very easy to do, and you have two great update options from which to choose nüMaps Lifetime™ This one-time purchase, now as low as $89.99, lets you download the most up-to-date map information available...for the lifetime of your Garmin device. No monthly fees, no maintenance costs. You can update every time a quarterly map update is released and not pay again.

Did this mod to my VTX http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc121/lylejt/Bike%20Pics/MC%20Garage%20Door%20Opener%20mod/ password is welcome One thought is a small chrome button mounted the chrome piece on top of the gas tank. Wiring can still go to the fairing and mount the transmittor inside the fairing. Personal choice to use the bike's juice or its' own battery.

This might be the same idea that LilBeav is describing but with mine it basically has 2 pieces of flat metal and in the middle if a rivit holding the 2 pieces together. When you open it, the metal pieces are straight holding the lid open. It is the same idea when you open and close a ladder.

Wonder if ones for the back of cars would be more sturdy. I would check junk yards too. e-bay item 320583929232 says its' good for 60 lbs lift. e-bay item 350387730767 (if I am reading it right) says up to 250 lbs. They have a chart for less or more as well. I actually just bought 2 lights for the back of my scoot from them. Fast delivery. I only need the one for under the trunk for the price (2 for $30 w/ free shipping), I went ahead bought it. Only difference that I can tell between theirs and custom dynamics is the entire row lights up as a running light vs. the 3 lights from C.D. Just went back and looked. They have one like C.D. e-bay 350388393866. I don't know if you can also do turn w/ the one from C.D. but this one you can. It is a bit cheaper especially after shipping cost.

Thanks To Troy Savoie, I learned how to sew!!!
Sideoftheroad replied to ajlyoung1221's topic in Watering Hole
Wonder if the chrome trim for the bottom of the lid comes w/ it? I learned how to sew patches this past year on my vest this year. Most of them come out pretty good, except I have one that is below my neck that is a little cockeyed. AJ those look great. I know you said you thought it didn't fit completely on the lid but anything else? To us, those look perfect as is. I know sometimes we are our worse critic. I would consider a tank bib w/ a pocket. Once you get comfortable then you work on getting fancy like braids on the sides, etc... -
That's really weird. They are working just fine for me. Anyone else having issues?

sorry. reposting the pic. LOL Trader, Maybe I should rename the thread.

At least to my recent conversation w/ Autometer, their non-cycle tachs won't work on our scoot. Now I am electronically & mechanically challenged but I gotta believe there is a way to make it work. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52293 Here are the gauges I am looking at http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=2925&sid=14 http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=2927&sid=14 I like their cruiser series to as it reminds me of our dash but they don't have a tach that small. http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=4194&sid=83 http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=4196&sid=83 And finally like their American Muscle series too, but again no 2/16" tach. I think it would look really sharp in a Midnight. http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=3895&sid=74 http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=3899&sid=74 Not sure why they make some tach 2/16" in some series and not others. If you make one the rest of it should just be a matter of a different face plate. If anyone can chime in that is currently using an Autometer tach on their scoots and can tell me it works, then I will probably buy it on next payday. Then I can also reply back to the Autometer guy telling him it does work and here is how it was done.

Really liked my Barons 2" mini tach before it crapped out on me. It was on the bike for guessing 8 yrs. This particular model is when Baron's was just starting in the tach market and they don't sell this particular one anymore. I think I am keeping it for nostalgia, but bike looks naked w/out it. Not hard to wire at all. http://www.baroncustom.com/catalog/display/245/index.html Almost had a good deal off e-bay for a new one over 50% off on a 3" version. But alas someone wanted it more than me. :-( There was an even cheaper one on e-bay after that but something just told me not to buy so I didn't. Even though I prefer to buy from people who have 100% positive feedback. The feedback was pretty good, like 99.4 or something like that. Not sure what it was, but something said don't go for it.
