Leo's mourning their loss everywhere
Sideoftheroad replied to Sideoftheroad's topic in Watering Hole
yup. local duncan doughnuts burned down. -
Since I am not electrically minded wouldn't it be easier to hook them up to a 9 volt battery. If they light up should be good to go on a 12 volt system?

As others pointed out, saw the dealer tag. I would keep it on a personal key chain until I sell it and then maybe put it on something like a dealer tag if I still had it. Not sure on the DOD tag (if it is what I think you are referring to) as on the 1st pic I see a rectangular sticker on the lower driver side of the windshield.

Those that pee, don't wash their hands and grab the handle to open the door with their hands. Those that pee, do wash their hands and use the paper towel to grab the handle to open the door. Can't win either way. Need to develop an automatic opening door. On duty Police Officers that kill a motorcyclist and are walking the streets today. The board states no wrong doing even though he was over 2x the legal BAC limit (and that was after over an hour after the accident). Also several veteran officers that very much knew better didn't follow proper procedure in getting the breathalyzer administered which led to said officer getting off due to a "technicality". Also latest news just before the accident, said officer was messaging about the state fair to another officer on his patrol car laptop while driving (talking about getting ketchup and mustard on his shirt).

Bought FT a couple years ago and had the same thing happen to me with the jacket. I just figured it was my loss. I might try and find a local rep and see if they will replace it. I just don't see shipping at my cost. Glad it worked out for you.

We have Dish. Pretty satisifed. Due to a recent issue the phone company (Verizon, now Frontier communication - don't get me started) refuses to fix so we can't get the phone lines that were once hooked up to the satellites. So I called Dish to see what could be done. They sent me for free these wireless boxes. One box hooks up to a working phone line. The other boxes hook up only to the receivers. A wireless signal goes from one box to the others to provide the satellites a phone connection. W/out the receivers hooked up to a working phone line there is a charge. Don't remember how much. Also like what someone said if you have multiple receivers, the 1st fee ($5) for that receiver is waived. Also 1 receiver will control 2 tv's. Not sure if they changed the equipment since we signed up with Dish to be able to do other things or not. Dish recently fought with Fox over rate hikes. As a result we lost National Geographic and FX (no SOA :-() I guess the others reached an agreement or didn't fight as hard as Dish and it seems Dish and Fox reached an agreement because we have both channels back. My brother told me a long time ago Dish will fight against rate hikes and usually the competitors will go up while Dish Network's doesn't or at least doesn't go up as high. I recently looked into Direct TV and cable (Insight - now Comcast) and for what we have it is still cheaper than the others. U-verse isn't available in our area yet. As far as weather, yes we do lose signals in storms. Like someone mentioned it might just be signal alignment. I should call and see if I can get the dish pointed to another satellite to see if that works any better.

Cassette Deck, why do you have a problem with MORE options?
Sideoftheroad replied to LilBeaver's topic in Watering Hole
No matter what vehicle you buy (talking mostly about cars), there are packages that you purchase. Some parts of the package you like and will use and some you don't like and won't use. Like Bruce Hornsby used to say, that's The Way It Is. I don't know how true it is, but I can understand it. I was talking to a guy I know, he mentioned that Yamaha bought alot (like a bazillion) cassette deck units. Seems they are determined to use every last one. I'll stick to what I got. I love it, even if I don't use all the features. I think Bummer has it right. Change costs $$$. In this economy changes cost jobs. Wasn't it almost 2 years ago we kept hearing it's time for a change and look what's happened. I used to complain about the roundabouts built in the city I work in. When you have 4-5 roundabouts in a 2 mile section. That is a bit excessive. I pretty much changed my viewpoint though. With all these "improvements" being built, it is keeping people employed, food on their tables and roofs over their heads. City or whomever is not gonna pay someone to just sit there all day. I have an issue w/ my Buick, that I have neglected for a couple years. It doesn't compromise anything and I can do the work myself so it isn't any big deal, but might have the dealer do it anyway so their mechs have something to do. -
Didn't think about that. My keyboard has those buttons.

Found my old posting. I think the Marshall site has had some updates since then? If you can still get am/fm antenna then no worries about dual cb antenna's. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24775&highlight=antenna&page=2

Gotta agree with that. Don't know about you but I don't listed to the 50 (or however many) music channels. Just wish they could make things ala carte. FX has the same thing like Hula in regards to episodes. They only have episode 1 of this season so far. Like I said no biggie. I was going to check into Comcast, but a co-worker just called and the fees they want for this, that and the other are just absurd. Something like a $120 hookup fee and they worked it down to $70. How about $20 at the most. For what I have now in Dish, I already looked and I would be paying more for Direct TV so don't think I am going that route either. I haven't been unhappy with Dish. I have a phone line issue that Verizon refuses to fix (don't get me started and I won't go off on my Verizon-now Frontier rant) so my satellites weren't hooked up to a working phone line for a few months. Called Dish and they sent me 3 boxes free. 1 to plug into the working phone line and 2 that just plug into a wall socket and you plug the phone line from this box to each receiver. The 1st box sends a signal to the other 2 boxes wirelessly to make the receiver think it is hooked up to a phone line. That alone saves on the bill.

I have been noticing almost w/out fail every time that when I go under a power line that crosses the street, I get noise. Once I pass, it goes away. Can get annoying when you are on a street w/ alot of them. Also there was a post w/ in a month or 2 ago about solar flares (don't remember the term they used in the post), were pretty active at that time. Not sure if they still are.

A keyboard has audio wires?

Did you watch Undercover Boss last night? They did a profile on Direct TV. The employees they showed seemed pretty genuine but with the supply issue, not sure if I would want to switch to them at this time. At one point they ran out of flux capacitor's (or something ) and one of the tech's said how am I supposed to work now. Not keeping your techs working isn't good. Wondering if they get paid by the job. Also having one tech calling many other techs to see if they have a certain receiver isn't good either. Hopefully they have fixed this now since they filmed vs. air time. I am sure other providers have similar issues too.

It's like when I a Yamaha shop manager told me both carbs on my Venture needed cleaning. To which I politely said no thanks.
