SOB the Venture is...Speakers
Sideoftheroad replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I don't know if they are stock, but I have Pioneer's in the front. They were already in the bike when I bought it. They sound good to me, but then again I don't have a comparison. I am going to have to put new ones in the rear though because I think they are blown. -
This seems to be pretty close since members have said w/ the vmax swap it raises RPM by about 500. My driving lately has been around town so not sure when I will be able to get it up to 70 mph next. Knowing my luck a LEO would be lurking around the corner and catch me doing 70 in a 45. If anyone can look next time they are on the scoot, I would appreciate it.

No story here. Just wondering if anyone has heard of that table saw that will immediately stop when your finger touches the blade. Have no idea how it tells the difference between wood and flesh. Saw them demonstrating it with a hot dog. It had a tiny, tiny knick on it and that was it. http://videosift.com/video/New-Safety-Table-Saw-Stops-whenever-skin-touches-it http://www.sawstop.com/

It's been a while since I have had a tach on the bike so to me the #'s are a bit high, but could be wrong. 45 mph, 5 gear, 2k 50 mph, 5 gear, 21k (small gap between the 2k bar and the needle) Thanks

my stebil horn went south. Anyone have a stock horn or lead on another stebil? I like the stebil horn but they seem to be a bit more pricey than what they were a few years ago.

My brother just graduated with a masters in history. He is moving tonight or tomorrow to go to New Mexico. Him and his wife have done some searching and apparently there is a need for teaching jobs in New Mexico. Can anyone from New Mexico or surrounding states comment? Maybe for some sort of specialized field? I hope the best for my brother but considering the economy and schools around Indy are laying off instead of hiring I have my doubts

Found these. Seem much sturdier than the others [ame=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260800832048&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_4380wt_1139]http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260800832048&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_4380wt_1139[/ame]

Anyone know what the plastic thing is call at the end of a guy line? It is oval or rectangular w/ 2 holes in it that you feed the guy line through. Yes I know it is not necessary to create a loop to tie a stake to, but just wanting to know what it is called.

Found one for Fosters too. Apparently back in the mid 80's they had a trademark on the Big Can-Do BBQ name and a patent on the grill. Can't find anything about the company though.

Glad to hear

Just found another Ranier Beer grill on ebay. Item 280648944024 (which ended back in March. Went for $52. Did an internet search. Found reference to Budweiser, Mountain Dew, Pepsi & Coke. Might have to contact the company to see how many types of drink grills they made. Also found a floating cooler called the big bobber. shaped just like a fishing bobber.

Zak. The instruction sheet that is shown on the Coors grill is the same as mine. Hmmmm. Maybe I need to start a beer bbq grill collection.

Bob, Yes my grandmother lived in Seattle. Grandma swept ash from Mt. St. Helens off her porch and sent to us kids in peanut butter jars. Still have it. I remember using some of it in an elementary school presentation I did on the state. Aunt/Uncle/Cousins are from Renton I believe. I would have to ask if I have any other family members that live or lived in WA. My dad was an engineer (before retirement). He had a chance to work on the Space Needle (not sure in what capacity). He declined because once it was built, he would have been out of a job. Victor, I will take that as a compliment. :-)

Is this what you call cooking with beer?

I got this from my dad a long time ago. He's from the Washington State area. Had an opportunity yesterday to actually use it. Local park hosted a campout night. Kids had fun http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc121/lylejt/Camping%2006_25_2011/DSCN0017.jpg http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc121/lylejt/Camping%2006_25_2011/DSCN0037.jpg

I am not in the market. Wondered why it was so much cheaper. Just having the tent system might work. Used trailers can be bought pretty cheap. I think I bought my used harbour freight for like $125??? It is upside down but this appears to be what you are buying. From the pictures looks like you have a trailer, some sort of box for storage underneath, tent piano hinged to the box on one side and something to prop the tent up to access underneath storage. I am sure you can piece something together for a lot cheaper than what you could buy it whole. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqJ,!lIE3NS5LMegBN39ZCWVKw~~_3.JPG

As of a couple years ago when I did the swap they still had the am/fm antenna. Maybe an excess surplus? Might want to call ahead to verify they still have it in stock. 3' version http://www.westcoastmall.net/amfm3b-amfm-antenna-p-212.html http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24775
