Try this... Discount-tires-2go And Google "165/80R15". I found some others that way. -

My guess... Fuel and air have weight and on acceleration the fuel/air mixture will tend to want to go toward the rear cylinders making them slightly richer. The CO adjustment may be meant to lean the rear cylinders a bit to offset the extra f/a mixture that gets pushed in. In city riding this would make sense but on the highway you have way less acceleration forces. -
Oh yeah, I like it over pasta!

I'm always surprised at the number of people that have never heard of tomato gravy. I once tried a breakfast buffet at a local Golden Corral. They had everything on the buffet, including milk gravy, but no tomato gravy. They had a new manager who was obviously from a more northern part of the country. As I was leaving he asked how the meal was. I said it was great but it would have been better with tomato gravy for the biscuits. His reply, "Tomato gravy? Must be a southern thing!" My reply, " Well, where the 'hail' do you think you are... Boston?" The way I do it... Saute a medium onion and a bell pepper (both optional) and set aside. In just enough oil or bacon grease to cover the bottom of your skillet, brown about 1 tablespoon of flour. Don't burn it but you want it dark. Basically, make a roux. Add 1 can of diced tomatoes or 2-3 fresh ones diced and the cooked onion and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add water if needed to keep it from getting to thick. It should be gravy thick. And while it's simmering I season with garlic powder and/or Tony Chachere's. It's GREAT over biscuits but I like it on cornbread too!

Well, after all this it looks like it'll be cornbread with tomato gravy tonite!

Make it a solo seat with a backrest and you have exactly what I have been planning for months. That is a great look and you did a great job! If I just had room for 4 bikes... -
Along with my Blue on Black RSV I have a Road Star Midnight. I call the Midnight "Black" and the RSV "Big Blue".

There are only 4 screws holding each bag on... it's easier if you remove them. Then there is a clamp to loosen that holds the muffler to the front pipe and a bolt at the rear holding the muffler up.

Diet vs Load Capacaity
BigBoyinMS replied to distancerider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
(Following is my opinion and the opinion of others. Some have differing opinions... but we don't hold it against them. Do some research and form your own opinion.) Yes, a few of us here (and other bike brands and models, too) mount car tires on the rear. Higher load rating, they last an average of 2-3 times longer than cycle tires, better grip and handling and my Kumho cost me about $50. Then there are those that will tell you it is immoral, illegal, illogical and just plain ill to put a car tire on a motorcycle. They will also tell you it can't work, can't handle well, you will crash and burn and you're just a bad person for doing it. But we still do it, we are still safe, healthy and happy and we are called DARKSIDERS! (FYI, there is a Darksiders section here with more info.) http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/tire.jpg -
Do a search on here for Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3. Also do a search for "Road King". The "Stage" mods involve drilling or removing parts of the original mufflers. You can also replace the factory mufflers with Harley Tour mufflers for a little sound. A member here sells the adapter brackets.

Diet vs Load Capacaity
BigBoyinMS replied to distancerider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I'm 5-10 lbs heavier than you and the wife is 'normal' as you say but with 20-30 lbs of 'stuff' we are over the printed load limit but I don't have an issue with it. The bike handles great and will still outrun a new Mercedes 2-up. (I forgot she was back there for a second... but she "reminded" me!)) Part of the reason I'm confident of it is the Kumho car tire that has a 25% higher load limit than the reinforced Avons, etc. I like running the shock at 10% of the total extra weight. (Mine, hers and whatever is in the bags.) Usually around 45lbs. -
Just go to FleaBay and put 160362059027 in as a search. I am SOOOOO tempted. I want to turn a Venture into a solo "Street Venture" but I need more room! And the wife says the '07 is NOT going to be touched.

+1 on the Backrest Kumho car tire is a real close 2nd.

Bub Complete Exhaust Question

My opinion... You will probably only need to turn out the pilot screws some to richen things a 'tad'. (Not to be confused with a 'bit'. ) Edit: I see your a Trial Member. Send in a check and become a Supporting Member... it's the least money you will EVER spend on your bike! -
I'm guessing it's an '03 year model so it should be Beach Sand Tan/Raspberry Metallic.

That's the first good pic that I have seen of the Federal. The tread design looks good.

http://www.sierra-mc.com/prodimages/imc-ghs45_tn.jpg IMC makes a "helmetless" headset that I bought since I wear a shorty helmet too. So far it works great. Best price that I found was here... cyclemaxohio They sell Goldwing accy's. Our intercom system in a 5-pin just like the Wings.

I really haven't dug into the owner's manual to see exactly how it's supposed to work but when I set mine I get up to speed then first hit "Set" then "Accell" and it will instantly keep the speed that I'm at. It seems that if i only hit "Set" that it will drop some and then pick up.

I just put the Louisiana Renaissance Festival on my calendar for the 15th of Nov... and I may even be able to make it! Looks like a good time and darn good food, too!

Hey Tom, My bike has the Clearview and measuring their way it's 19.5". But the way I sit with the backrest I'm looking directly across or maybe .5" below the top. I need about 2" off of it as I like to look over the top. If you haven't done anything by the M&E next month, feel free to sit on my bike and check it out for height. From what I remember of your height it may be just right for you. Nothing like seeing what it's like on the bike.

It's been 30 years since I had a bike with pegs so all I know are floorboards and feet forward. My 2nd Gen is the most comfortable that I have ever had but after a few hours I do wish I had some pegs just behind and above the rear of the boards just as another position for my legs. I have adjustable pegs on the engine guards so I can stretch them out but I sometimes feel the need to tuck them under, also. Overall, my RSV fits me better and way more comfortably than any other bike that I've had. FYI, 32" inseam, just under 6' and a BigBoy!

I had a little over 1000 miles on the Rotella 15w40 when I added the Motorkote. And I have always had an "additives are a waste of money" attitude, too. But I also have an open mind. Others have said it worked for them so I tried it... and it does work (for me) for taking away a LOT of the noise, even though I think mine was one of the less noisy ones. And engineers can definitely screw-up just like everyone else. Remember the Yugo and the Chevy Vega? (Especially that Vega engine. ) And why would they build a motorcycle that screams at you and leaves you needing to find a solution to quiet it? Just my :2cents: :2cents:

Looking good! (Now where have I seen that color before?)

Looks like you balanced the same way I did other than I just used the rear axle. .25 oz and it was the easiest part of the tire job! By the way... what did you use to lube the beads and what pressure did the beads seat at? And man, those gauges look good!

Motorkote comments and tracking??

Rotella 15w40 dino. I tried the Rotella 5w40 synthetic for 100 miles but got more noise. I drained and saved it for one of the cars.
