  1. Normal for me!

  3. One more bit of advice... Be sure and mount your relay with the terminals pointed down. Most will do this naturally but the person that installed the horn for the previous owner of my bike must not have been natural. The relay isn't sealed so if you mount it terminals up then you will eventually have a relay full of mud. I wondered why my Stebel was quieter than most before it finally quit working. One more bit of advice... don't test it when holding it in front of you with the bell pointed toward your face. It's painful!
  4. I normally clip the strap and hook my helmet over the right mirror then put my shades and gloves in. And sometimes I lock it up. It just depends. It's time for a new one so I wouldn't be TOO upset if it went missing other than the fact someone stole from me. In that case it would be a very good thing if I never caught anyone with it.
  5. Here is a diesel bike I first saw a few years ago. I've considered a trike myself using the same setup he is using. Diesel Hydraulic drive bike http://www.hydraulicinnovations.com/Diesel%20bike%203%20012.JPG
  6. Little Sturgis? Which one? Seems like every other state has one! We have one here in Mississippi and I know Kentucky does too.
  7. Here's a Morgan and Isetta from the same museum. http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/DSC00828.jpg http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/DSC00827.jpg http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/DSC00826.jpg http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/DSC00825.jpg
  8. Seen them online and I think I have a diecast in my collection. The only real one that I saw was at the Tupelo, MS auto museum. http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/DSC00753.jpg http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/DSC00755.jpg http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/ww202/BigBoyinMS/DSC00754.jpg
  9. From being on diesel p/u forums (I drive an '04 Cummins powered Ram 3500) I tend to agree with you on that. A lot of diesel owners that have changed to a K&N filter start to notice dirt trails and grit in their intake tubes and I've seen one pic of a turbo impeller where the fins were chewed up from dirt particles that went through it. But then again there is a HUGE volume and velocity of air being pulled into a diesel. The K&N MAY do an acceptable job on the lower volume going through our bikes. I don't know. I resisted going to a K&N on my Road Star but the factory filter is made so cheaply that it's known to come apart. I figured in that case the K&N was acceptable. And again, it may be just fine on our bikes.
  10. Here's another where they do the same with a Taxi cab. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnkIFmyrM1s]YouTube- The Skeleton taxi driver[/ame]
  11. MMMM! German Chocolate...
  12. Should we start a new post for the toilet seat/lid opinions?
  13. here is a good article on coolants... Coolants And one on a good reason WHY you want to change it... Electrolysis Just remember, as long as you flush ALL of the old coolant out it doesn't matter much which type goes back in. And for an extra buck or two it's always better to use distilled water over tap water especially if you have hard water. I learned my lesson on all these things a few years ago when I had to replace 3 heater cores in the same truck within 3 months.
  14. The best that I remember, '89 was the second year of fuel injection on the Chevy p/u's so you'll need to reuse the intake from the engine that you have in it. Other than that almost any smallblock will fit up to when they changed to the new style engines. And it's best to get the same size engine that comes out since the fuel injection is sized for the engine but the computer will compensate (up to a point) for the difference if you go with a smaller 305. (I'm guessing from the way you worded the post that you have a 350 in it.) I just remembered that the intake bolts are at a different angle on the '87 and newer engines so you'll need to stay in that range. Wouldn't hurt to check online or a large GM dealer for a new one. Just a quick look online and I saw that they are just under $2k. And check out http://car-part.com/. Hope some of this helps. Good Luck!
  15. And congrats on the new ride! I think you'll be as happy with it as I think you think you will! Ya think?
  16. ...nor anyone else! (Pretty Much!)
  17. I think you hit it right on the head... Actually, I thought it was just the extra chrome! Pretty much the only differences from '99-current is color. The S has extra chrome. The seat was changed in '02 or '03. They are trying to get rid of all the 6-disc CD players by putting them in all the new Ventures as standard.
  18. The only time I started mine with the mufflers off I had to wipe the blood outta my ears!
  19. Just an FYI.. You can get Moly60 or at least have it ordered in 1-2 days at any Honda CAR or Acura dealer. Part# 08734-0001 and you should pay no more than about $10. And some CAR dealers will have BG 44K for those that like it better than SeaFoam. Should be no more than $20 at a dealer.
  20. As long as they make it known on the menu and advertising so the patrons can make their own decision about eating there or not... I don't see a problem. But personally... I would go on down the road to the next burger joint. I don't drink beer mainly because I can't imagine something that smells like that going in my mouth.
  21. It MAY have a clear title but I'm guessing it was laid down and he just removed the broken bits. or pieced it back together to look good but couldn't find a trunk. It's almost the exact look I want for a second "solo" Venture (except his antenna placement ) but when I do it will be a lower mileage '99-'03 or a non-salvage wreck at a LOWWWW price.
  22. I ran across this and thought y'all may like a little history and additional uses for SeaFoam. It's a pretty good writeup! SeaFoam Article
  23. I like it all BUT I could be happy with nothing but the cornbread dressing. I love that stuff! And I like it best the way I make it. A lot of people use too much poultry seasoning and that just ruins it for me. http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto/Articles/2284416/cornbreaddressing-main_Full.jpg
  24. It was cold this morning but I rode to work. I noticed that the wind was cutting at my face and neck and I didn't wear my leather face and neck cover. I checked the local temp online when I got to work and realized that I should have checked before leaving... 29F! I usually gripe that I live so close to work since I like a longer ride in the morning but this time I was happy about it!
  25. I think you're on the right track with a bed liner coating. I've always figured to buy a rough looking bike and have all the tins done that way. No "dings" to worry about and no polishing! LoL
