If I could find a real one like the bald head helmet I would buy it in a second! http://media01.biertijd.com/galleries/biertijd1007/100729_helmets/05.jpg

That looks like it would be pretty easy to make. But no, not sure where you would find one.

Hey Sideoftheroad... If you are worried about sway there have been a lot of threads on here on pulling trailers with a lot of good info. The best way to prevent sway? Load correctly with 10% of the weight on the tongue. And a lot use a longer tongue also.

I'm wondering if you are using the instructions from the factory manual. They are wrong and will totally mess things up. Here's a link to the corrected ones, just in case you don't already have them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258

The link to the plans on my original post is working again... just in case anyone is looking.

I gotta git me one of these! http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2010/07/500x_motorcycle-helmet-funnies.jpg

This is a different story but I did read the Buzzard story somewhere, too. I think that was a 23 yr old (riding normally according to the story) that had a turkey vulture fly up and hit him in the chest. He lost control and ended up bouncing off a few trees.

Does anyone else see anything wrong with this story? Police: Man Likely Killed Self After Westmoreland County Deer Crash

The PO had already installed a modulator on my RSV when I bought it. I don't have it on all the time but when I do it definitely does the job of getting peoples attention which is definitely a positive. The only negative that I have seen is the very few people that aren't intelligent enough to realize that a flashing headlamp doesn't mean that I'm a motor cop. And like previously mentioned, it turns off automatically in low ambient light.

I know what ya mean... I saw your link and your right, someone would still have a problem with ANY negative story about them. But everyone needs to be accountable.

There ya go! Get yourself a Yamaha T-Max. I've actually heard of them outrunning H-D's!

. I wouldn't doubt at all that those points did play into it, but don't discount the Kumho traction. I can only speak about my bike but it's much harder to lock the rear with the Kumho and when you do, it isn't a smooth slide. You can tell it definitely doesn't want to slide with all the squealing and traction judder. Totally different scenario doing the same thing with the Venom on my Road Star. The transition from braking to sliding is not nearly as pronounced. Actually, I can hardly tell when it locks up until the rear starts sliding off center.

Wide clamps for the RK mufflers

I sent him email yesterday. Now that I know a price I'll just call and order from him. Thanks! -
That's pretty much what I did. I twisted the throttle till it felt about right and 2300 was it so I used that for each adjustment. Let me know and I'll bring my tach and bottles to work and you can come by and pick'em up and use'em.

Thanks, buddy! I did search ebay but I guess I was using the wrong words. -
Since I tested the braking traction on my Kumho I've always hoped I wouldn't have to do a panic stop in front of anyone. When I'm in a group I'm always keeping my eye on the guy behind me to make sure we are staggered.

I decided to sync my carbs today since I have noticed a little roughness and it's been about a year since my last sync. As I was hooking up I remembered a post from last year where someone asked a question about syncing at cruising rpm or a higher rpm than idle speed. (I haven't been able to find the thread.) Anyway I decided to sync at 2300 rpm, just because it felt about right. I've got to say, it seems smoother than it was the last time. Does anyone else do it this way or what do you think?

I tend to think the same. I did suggest that he take it in to be checked out. But it was noisy! LoL Maybe they are like the Ventures; some worse than others.

Uhhh, guys... the chirp and much of the whine comes from the clutch on our bikes, not the shaft drive. The rear drive does add a little to the noise but it's probably the least noisy part. I've had a chance to ride my BIL's V-Star 1300 which mechanically is close to the 950. Very noisy! It was actually louder than my RSV but my bike is not that noisy. Something else I noticed. I was trying to do a friction zone turn and it was impossible the way the clutch was intermittently grabbing. You couldn't even ride at any kind of slow speed with the clutch engaged. I hope it isn't a common 950/1300 issue.

MS Vista Question
BigBoyinMS replied to Aimhigh's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Do you have a wireless network setup? If so, and you don't have it secured then your neighbors could be connecting to your signal. I had that happen when I first set up my wireless. -
Is it my imagination?
BigBoyinMS replied to WAC1972's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
It may simply be the PMS needs adjusting. I also have a Road Star (single carb, V-twin) and I've found with it the mixture makes a huge difference in the sound. When the mixture isn't right it actually sounds and feels like each cylinder is firing hard; when the adjustment is right it's a smoother exhaust note and feel. -
Hey Mike, I just now saw this. Something you may want to check. Maybe you remember my bald headed Wing riding buddy, Bob. He has E3's on his '06 Wing and I noticed that his tires had a similar wear pattern a few months ago. They actually looked like they had a flat center and each side was beveled and scalloped. Anyway, I asked him what pressure he ran. We checked his pressure with my new digital gauge and then his gauge. His showed about 8lbs high so he was running 8lbs low the whole time. (FYI, I verified mine with a calibrated gauge at work.) Do you think you may have the same issue? Just a thought.

OOOOOO yeahhhhh! Almost exactly what I have planned if I ever sell my Roadie and buy another RSV. My plans are a fender rack instead of rear seat and the CB antenna mounted ala H-D StreetGlide. Again, that looks goooood!
