I don't think anyone is blaming the auto worker. I think (or at least I am) most are blaming the upper management. They make the rules and, when it suits them, break the rules for themselves and for the 'good ole boys' club. Unless upper management changes it's style, which will never happen, the problem will continue until they go under. Unfortunately, it is the workers that are going to pay for managements mistakes, which seems to be the norm!

Just my . I normally don't agree with (sorry) Dr. Phil, but on this issue I have to. You don't throw money at a money problem, you fix the problem that created the money problem in the first place. I didn't agree with the bailout because if you or I were to go belly up, who is going to bail us out? No one! If these companies cannot figure out their problems and fix them themselves, why should they stay in business? I guess what I'm saying is, if they fall, let them fall and then figure out how to stand back up. Otherwise, the next time it happens, good ole Uncle Sam will be EXPECTED to help them out again and again and . . . They no longer have any risk. Maybe management should look at taking a paycut. If they don't, they will not have any pay at all. Again, just my .

Best of luck to you in and out of court. Not sure I'd be open to plea bargaining, unless it was on how deep to bury this guy to allow sunlight to get to him. As for the sister also, sounds like a 'great' family.

What he said! ! ! I had an independent go through the house I'm buying last month and this included a termite inspection and all passed with flying colors. The cost was $320 and well worth it! Your realtor should have a list of folks that perform this job. I checked with mine and crossed with a few other folks that recently bought a home and chose the one that did my assesement. As of today (11-10-08), I have 2 weeks to closing and 3 weeks to the beginning of moving in.

Like Freebird, I too have one that you can borrow. I live in southern Dayton and it is at a friends house just north of me.

Join the club on ditching rental properties. I just locked in my interest rate yesterday (5 7/8) and am now waiting for the closing date (Nov 25th) and when I start moving in (Dec 1). It is a split level, 2200 sq ft, 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, 2 car, and almost 1/2 acre of land; and best of all, no HOA. My son is getting excited about it also. If you have kids, you might also want to check the pedofile (spelling?) sites for any registered folks around where you are moving to. One house I looked at had one next door. I couldn't get away from there fast enough. Good luck in your search and purchase! And before folks start asking, as soon as I get moved in, ya-all are welcome to visit any time you want. Hope to get a pool put in sometime in the spring. Bring your own bathing suit! No skinny dipping allowed.

I wish they would do something like that here in Ohio. Grandma & grandpa Slowpoke in the left lane for a Sunday afternoon drive down the interstate is just plain rediculous. I had a couple here while back even speed up to keep me from passing them. Oh well, guess it takes all kinds.

If this is the case, and we are all cowboys while on our respective 'steeds', are we then supposed to 'herd' the cages? And if so, where do we herd them to?

Does anyone have the db spec on the OEM horn used on the 1st gens? The Stebel seem to spec out around 136 or so. Was wondering for comparison.

Some strange lookin critters stipped down like that. Doesn't look natural! -
Isn't the Chevy in kilometers and the Venture in miles? If so, Chevy is still in the break in (or is it break down) phase of its life?

I've had this happen a couple of times now, so I know it is not a fluke. When I lock the handlebars in the turned position, all lights come on, except the headlight. I've read the manual and can not find anything concerning this. Is this an indication that the ignition switch is developing a problem or what?

There was a piece on the evening news a few years ago about a family that intentionally signed up for junk mail for just that reason. The family said that they reduced their wood requirement 5 to 6 cords to almost nothing. They use a hand made device that rolls news papers, inserted with all kinds of junk mail into logs that they burn. The postal service had complained about the amount of junk mail that they had to deliver to the house. I thought it was very ingenious of them.

I found this a couple of weeks ago, but didn't get the chance to post it. Thought a few might get a kick out of it.

During the maintenance day at Don's, a few folks were telling me about some material that could be used to repair the plastic on the Ventures. I did not take any notes and memory being what it is (or in my case - isn't), I do not remember what the stuff was called or where you could get it. Anyone out there remember this conversation or the material mentioned? Thanks ahead of time.

Sit down a little each day and write out your impact statement. It will allow you to gather your thoughts. You'll find out that it is easier this way than to try and write everything down that's going through your mind, which I can only imagine at this moment. Above all, remember we are all here to help and act as your sounding board when ever you need. Good luck and as everyone else has said, you and your family are in our prayers! -
I had already planned on visiting the pound in looking for a pup. My son wants a German Shephard and I'm partial to Shelties. May come home with one of each if we're lucky. The high winds in the Dayton area has played total havoc with power, roofs, and trees. People are lining up outside of gas stations and anyplace that can provide a warm meal. The apartment I currently live at lost almost all of it's shingles (the installers didn't remove the little plastic strip covering the strip of tar on the bottom) and was out yesterday morning helping maintenance clean up since work was closed. Outside of stupidity, most have had nothing more than the inconvenience of no power or cable.

Finally some good news to report. After living in an apartment for almost 2 years, this kid is getting back into the home ownership business. I recently found a 2189 sq ft split-level with 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living room, dining room, kitchen, and family room for a resonable price for my youngest boy and myself. It has 0.4 acres of land (plenty for adding a pool in the spring) and a 2 car garage that seems to be big enough to put the car, truck, & bike inside during the winter. Financing in going to be through the VA and the rates are finally looking a bit competitive against conventional loans. Closing will be Nov 25 and possesion will be the first of December. My son was very excited, until he seen the yard that has to be cut. His first order of business is getting a puppy come spring time.

I've just finished a round with Geico myself concerning my son's 94 Mustang. They started out saying they were only going to reimberse 75%. I hung up on them and after a few weeks they came back with 90%. I then filed charges in Georgia (where they are), Indiana (where the accident took place), and in Ohio (where I live). Not quite a week later they called back saying they would reimberse 100%. It took 6 weeks from accident to them taking full responsibility. Don't let them lo-ball your son and tell him to stand firm with them. I have no idea why, but they try this with just about everyone I've talked to that has had dealings with them. Good luck to you and your son.

think i could beat Skid with this? You could beat him all the way to the gas station. After that, he's got ya down the road!
