  1. I want to cover the drive shaft, looked @ maybe using a chrome exhaust plate with clamps behind it but haven't committed to that yet ,thought about having it all chromed, but my latest experience with chromers hasn't been so good (whole other story) but I was wondering has anyone tried anything or saw something that might work that one spot has been bothering me for a while so I gotta chrome it
  2. well I guess I'll try it in the motorcycles first since nobody can say anything bad about it wish it was all the same formula could save money buying the 5 gallon, thanks for helping me decide
  3. I have had, and still have friends that ride bikes with abs brakes and have seen the rear tire skid when stopping hard at lower speeds, and only time I've lost a bike in a skid has been at lower speeds(but sure my time is coming) seems like at higher speeds a sliding rear tire is more controllable but haven't seen a abs front tire skid yet (and I use front only unless emergency, then its lock down both) I read or dreamed that abs doesn't work at lower speeds think it was like 12 mph. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has conducted several studies trying to determine if cars equipped with ABS are involved in more or fewer fatal accidents. It turns out that in a 1996 study, vehicles equipped with ABS were overall no less likely to be involved in fatal accidents than vehicles without. The study actually stated that although cars with ABS were less likely to be involved in accidents fatal to the occupants of other cars, they are more likely to be involved in accidents fatal to the occupants of the ABS car, especially single-vehicle accidents.this may not hold true to motorcycles but then again it may
  4. Been reading about it and was wondering who has tried it on motorcycle or truck tires and if anyone knows if the formula is different for trucks and motorcycles I would rather buy a couple 5 gallons than a bunch of bottles. Everything I've read says it doesn't harm the wheel like the other stuff can someone verify ? or know of something better? Thanks, Scott
  5. measures the amount and temperature of the air coming into the engine so that the computer knows how much fuel is needed.
  6. The oem covers just stick to the caliper and the show chrome bolt on over the caliper with a longer bolt and a spacer on a venture I have the oem tried the showchrome didn't care so much for having a spacer and longer bolt holding on what was stopping me (just my paranoia , have saw quite a few with them) as far as installing just unbolt and put in spacer and rebolt
  7. I experienced the same thing when I went from the dunlop to the venoms about a month ago,on the front, either it got better or I got use to the feel, don't know if it has anything to do with the feeling but I did notice the venom is smaller than the dunlop in the same size by 3/4"or maybe a little more.
  8. That's the very reason I bought my venture got tired of seeing my harley every time I rode , until I met some of the great folks on here I think I only saw maybe 3 ventures in 2 years.
  9. Which dealer done that for ya so I don't use them
  10. Been 3 years but seems like I put the filters on and replaced the plastic with the chrome

  13. friend that owns a gas station called this morning going to order fuel the lady told him that IF she could get any gas for him that HIS COST was going to be 4.15 per gallon but she wasn’t sure she would even be able to get any for him. And she said the price was going to sky rocket. he run out before lunch ,said he sold as much this morning as he usually sells in 3 days
  14. gas stations base the price on futures ( what it cost to replace what they have) but what better way to increase fuel prices than by telling everyone its going to $5 a gallon for reg ,so they go and fill up , in return causes a shortage because everyone purchased gas today instead of spreading it thru the week
  15. I'd take a set myself either smoke or maybe chrome
  16. I need to remove the dampers from a rear wheel wondering if anyone knows of a good way tried a bearing remover didn't work so well the rubber gives and it wont come out, used torch last time don't want to do that again smoked up the shop and stunk any ideas?

  19. now comes with cd changer installed in side bag, now is mp3 compatible and intercom ready 2009 says Single-point audio control system for AM/FM radio, cassette, CD changer and intercom is MP3-compatible and headset-ready. versus 08 Single-point audio control system for AM/FM radio, cassette and intercom is CD changer-compatible and headset-ready.
  20. I have these on my venture and the fact that they adjust the angle and my wife having a fused ankle helped her and the fact that she is short legged. so they work for me ,but you were mislead by them putting that with the venture and tour deluxe, most of the other bikes in the list that they fit come factory with pegs for the passenger. In the past barons has been good about returns for me hope they are the same for you
  21. Jim, I said not again after doing 3, but if you are going up to madison and only doing half and don't mind me tagging along post up what time you'll be leaving so I can meet up
  22. the oil filter is on the right side down low where the front exhaust pipe crosses the crankcase,if somebody don't answer this before I go by the storage building I"ll look on one of mine but of the 3, I have never had a leak anywhere except the oil filter o-ring. Is it on the cylinder head or the crankcase down below the exhaust , all the covers have little o-rings.
  23. It sounds like the cover for the oil filter there is a little o-ring in there that gets worn or pinched sometimes, have to drop the header pipe to change the oil filter and replace that o-ring they sale a filter relocate kit .
  24. No more sewing machine, sounds good , see ya got a drink holder up there now. Do you still want to try that utopia backrest?
