Did the carb sync today....WOW
V-4 Vendetta replied to Bloodbought1's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Great! Now find a shop with an EGA (Exhaust Gas Analyzer) and have them balance your mixture. I synched my carbs using the Morgan but was amazed and the added low end power I got after getting the mixture set correctly. Our bikes usually come from the factory set too lean. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean.- 5 replies

2009 RSV Top Heavy Question
V-4 Vendetta replied to DonWood's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Before you do anything you need to make sure you are really in tune with the bike. 1. How long have you had one? 2. Have you taken the beginning and experienced Motorcycle Safety courses? 3. If yes to #2 then have you practiced the techniques for more than a couple of months? I am only 5'8" and ride a Tour Deluxe. I have taken several training courses and practice the riding techniques at every opportunity. I now find the RSTD very nimble and easy to manage in most all circumstances (backing in parking lots is the only place I feel the weight of the bike). I also ride friends Ventures and don't find much difference in my ablility to handle either bike. If I were you I would invest my time and dollars in training and practice before I would go modifying the suspension. Just my two cents. Bill Safety Officer Tulsa Star 141 -

RSTD windshield
V-4 Vendetta replied to keithert's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The OEM windshield and lowers are pretty good, but I'm 5'8" and found the OEM too tall for me. I went with a shorter Clearview windshield. The Clearview is wider than the OEM and the lowers are also wider. I like it much better. Excellent wind protection. 80mph all day long is not a problem.- 10 replies

New Hidden Trailer Hitch
V-4 Vendetta replied to Tom's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hi, I am considering buying the Diamond R hitch but am concerned about the safety chain mounts. In the event the trailer pops off the hitch won't the chains damage your rear fender given the attachment up inside the fender? Thanks... -
Very cool...

I tried two different sets. After awhile they start to leak. I don't trust them.

That's what another guy told me also. I know what they sound like with the plug knocked out so I guess I'll get that done this weekend. Thanks...

Upon further inspection the hole is in the center plug of the left side muffler. The center plug of the right side has an indent for a hole but no hole. I will call a Harley dealer on Tuesday if nobody answers this note.
