  1. I seen in one of the motor bike cataloges a deer whistle you hard wire in so it makes the sound all the time when running, does anyone have one of these or know if they work?? Thanks:rudolf:
  2. I have a 08 RSV and I did notice that after the 600 mile check up and everything the bike does run alot better. They did sync the carbs and stuff and I get around 44 one up taking it easy and around 37 if I run it alittle harder. Good luck
  3. Nice ride! I have a new charcoal one and love it, had a few bugs but didnt take them long to fix them. Good luck and enjoy the new bike and ride safe.
  4. Sorry to hear you dropped the bike and you got hurt, I hate gravel also and my parents have it at the end of there drive before you get to the road. I dropped mine a few weeks back stopping for traffic lucky we didnt get hurt so I feel for you. Take care and heal fast.
  5. What is preasure is everyone running in there shocks? I was told by the sales guy at the dealer I shouldnt have to worry about adding any unless I haul a load and maybe put some in the rear. Mine is still what ever it was when I bought it and I am not sure if I should add any or not???
  6. If you are wanting to stay in the Lexington I have always heard that the horse park there or somewere around there has a great campground, never been but used to go threw there every weekend to lake cumberland. Just thought you might want to look it up, I am not sure how close it will be to were you are riding threw. Good luck and have a great trip.
  7. now that you say that I remember mine did that, I usually dont let it get real low and try to put gas in it after 140 mile or in that area before the light comes on. How far can you go when the milage start over again?
  8. I think when I bought mine they told me to keep it on reserve and the light would come on when she is low, I keep it on the on that way if I need it its there.
  9. Ok I have a new venture were is the tool kit at on it? I have yet to see one did they hide it? I was getting ready to make one up.
  10. Not to sound stupid but what is sea foam? I have never heard of it before.
  11. I bet your daughter had a great time! Mine keeps trying to get me to take her but I havent got a helment for her yet and I will not let her ride with out it. I do have a question, are those arm rests for the passenger on your bike or something else? and were did you get them? Oh and does the sheep skin I see you have help any? My butt gets so hot in the seat of mine I am moving around alot after I ride alittle bit. Thanks and enjoy the time with your kids they grow way to fast!!
  12. I got rear ended earlier this year on my honda at a light by a little old lady messing with her dog, she had already stopped so I wasnt watching behind me and her foot slipped off and bumped me. I do believe it scared her more than me but no damage.
  13. Glad to hear your ok and no body was hurt! I hope it wasnt anyone i know around there because they will want me to fix it. I have all of my family and alot of friends in your area.
  14. I looked at a new nomad before I bought the new RSV and by the time they put on a radio (cost of 1795) and there was another package I dont remember the bike was more money and it doesnt have the warenty or the pep. I didnt like the way the bike would shake and vibrate alot I could feel it in my hands on the short ride I took also. It is a nice looking bike and I was really leaning that way till I looked at the venture and compared options.
  15. I seen some that you have to wire in some were, might have been Dennis Kirk. I dont know if they work but would like to know also.
  16. I went and looked at the new HDs before I bought my 08 RSV and the prices are way out there thats why I went with the RSV. Harley does make some very nice looking bikes, I love the pearl white and charcoal Ultra they have here and I am thinking very seriously about painting mine like it this winter it does look classy.
  17. I have a question that might sound stupid but I am going to ask any way. Does switching the tires to the avons really make that much of a diffrence and if so what? I know on cars I have always liked michellens the best because they last for ever and are great tires, has anyone tried there bike tires and if so are they any good? Sorry seen the post and the question popped in my head.
  18. I am glad you got it taken care of, there is no easy way to do it when it comes to plastics. The strippers for plastics dont work very well if at all. With most cars today there is alot of plastic on them so its a daily thing to fix and paint them for me. The best thing is to do it how your paint manufactures want it and follow the steps and then you shouldnt have any problems. Good luck
  19. I paint cars for a living too and have to deal with plastic every day, why are you stripping it down? If the paint is fine on the bike as not peeling or cracked I would just sand them with 600 grit seal and paint them. If you strip them and you dont have the proper stuff to use on plastic it will most likly peel a t some point.
  20. Thanks for the info! I wasnt talking bad about harley riders in general but the ones I know that ride do ride the harleys and just want to go bar to bar and then ride around, I just want to have a good time and meet some new people to ride with with out baby sitting so to speak. Thanks for the info on the ride to brown county this sat, Mariner asked if we would like to go and we would but my girlfriend just had some surgery and cant ride for a few weeks so I cant do that at this point but would love to join up and ride with some of you. Just tryin to get my ducks in a row til we can ride again and meet some of the nice people out there.
  21. I am new to ridding as I havent had a bike in 15yrs and everyone I know who does ride are into the Harley seen and party. I dont drink and ride and dont want to be with them but was wondering if anyone is or knows much about the star clubs in Indy and westfield? I talked to my dealer and he couldnt help much. Thanks for any info
  22. My ex took a class threw HD at a cost of 200 bucks last yr and you go out on rides and use your own bike and when you pass you get your lic, thats in Ky and there laws are very close to ours. I dont know if they have anything like that here or not.
  23. I paint cars for a living, I use dupont paint and have been doing this for over 20yrs. I have tried some of the spray cans and they look ok for a while but they dont have the UV protection in them and they are not a catalized product meaning that they will not hold up as well as a paint and clear that has to be activated with a hardner. I have had to fix some paint jobs that someone used stuff like the spray cans and then you have to strip the part down because it can lift and wrinkle making a mess. It might cost alittle more to take it to a bodyshop to be fixed but it will pay for itself in the long run. Also if you tell them you want the left over paint when they are done you will have some touch up for it. Automotive paint is not cheap so with that part you are paying for matierials more than labor. Good luck in what ever you do.
  24. I took the class last month so I wouldnt have to take the riding test and I wanted to see what my bad habbits are and I havent rode in about 15yrs. It was alot diffrent ridding those little bikes but it teaches you the basics. I asked about the experianced class and they told me that you have to use your bike in it and they have at least two every class that drop theres and one poor guy totaled his because it wouldnt stop and hit a pole. She told me the class is very hard but if you pass its a great class. I dont think I am going to take it with my bike but maybe down the road who knows.
  25. Glad to hear nobody got hurt!! and its great to hear the police are watching this stuff!! I got hit from behind at a stop light and the car was already stopped but she had her little dog on her lap and was fussing with it when her foot came off the brake and hit me hard enough it rolled me forward alittle but it scared her to death being she was very old. To many people out there dont pay attention out there.
