  1. I wondered were all the leaves from Indiana go? now I know they go to Ohio to yamamamas:rotf:
  2. I have a 08 and I dont have the vibration but I do have a clicking in the rear when I shift like a u joint but was told that I need to shift faster and stop babying it basicly. I do have the whine but im hard of hearing from being in a bodyshop for to many years so it doesnt bother me that much i guess. The only thing I dont like is when I get on it it acts like its starving for air or something but they said thats the way these bikes are and the tech rode a few others and they all are that way, I havent rode any others so I dont know.Kevin
  3. they are changing here and also falling alot. I agree there doesnt seem to be very many fair weather riders out. I think I only seen two out friday on my way to work and maybe four on way home and it wasnt cold yet or at least not to me. Kevin

    What to do?

Not sure how your insurance works there but alot of times they will total it out and you have the option of buying it back then you can fix it back and go on. Just a thought. Kevin
  5. I do like the looks of the dash on this it has a retro modern look to it with locking glove box that would be nice. I cant wait to see one.
  6. Hi Jerry, You better keep an eye on it as if you over tighten it you might mess the rubber gasket up and it might start leaking. If in dought about it change it out. I did that on a car many year ago and went back and lossend it and a few days later it started leaking and the gasket had a tear in it. Just thought I would throw that out there. Good luck. Kevin
  7. I have been looking at heated clothes and talked to one guy that told me year one or something like that sold some that were reasonable but I cant find them anyone hear of them?? I dont want to spend a ton of money just dont want to freeze to death on the bike. Thanks Kevin
  8. I have done the sea foam and the bike runs better but I still smell gas from time to time. As far as the tubes go I think it was the ones under the motor by the side stand area. I know the dealer told me that he has seen more of it this year and said he would take care of it for me.
  9. You dont need a air compressor if you have or can borrow an elec sander that will work also. Just becarful and dont get a very corse sand paper its better to take a little longer and have a nicer product when you are finished. When it comes to some of the stuff on the bikes I am not sure what is on it, it sounds like enamal but it could be a waterborne also. I dont think you have any choice but to strip it and go from there and at least that way you will know what you have all the way through and wont have to worry as much. On the silicon what the other guy is saying is true make sure you dont have that in the area it will cause fish eyes, if your part is not clean and degreased it will cause fish eyes but they wont make the paint lift or wrinkle. Just take your time and follow the directions on what you are using and you should be fine. If you have a problem let it dry over night and wet sand it down with 600 and finish with 1000 and repaint and clear. Good luck and I will keep an eye on this if you have questions. Kevin:thumbsup:
  10. I noticed the other day a wet spot under the bike and it was gas, it doesnt do it all the time and I smell gas alot on it since it was new. I stopped by dealer and talked to them and they said that they do that alot and uptil this year if they change the needle in the carb and something else it has been taking care of it, but he said since they have changed the formula on gas he is seeing more of it this year than before. Anyone have this problem? Thanks Kevin
  11. What if you change to a K&N filter and RK pipes do you have to change them or just with a header? Thanks
  12. Yes there is a sealer its called a waterborne sealer but byt the time you buy all this stuff you are better off to do it rite and strip it then you wont have to worry about it again. Another thought I dont know anything about dupli color but I do know that some paints if not catilised will lift if gas and things get on them. Maybe someone here can help with that question for you that has used it. Good luck
  13. I thought when I got mine it ran like it had a miss or was trying to breath and starving for air almost. I was told that that is normal on these bikes by service, they did sync the carbs and that did help alot but I still feel what you are saying all the time and I do notice that if I dont give it the revs and take it easy she does it more when you do hit it and go from a lower rev to a higher if that makes sence.
  14. So what is everyone running pound wise in there shocks? Mine is what ever it came with witch is fine when its just me but she does go down alot with two of us on her. I do need to get me a pump and bring the back up. Im about 6 2 and 198 and she probably around 135. Any ideas on a good preasure?
  15. I will have to admit that if I saw this bike defore I bought the venture this year I would have bought it I think, I do like the looks of it and I do like the upgrades it has over ours. But thats why there are many to choose from I guess.
  16. I agree with sadlebum, I do body and paint work for a living and you have to get it down to bare plastic, now when you take it to bare plastic make sure you finish with a fine grit as alot of time the plastic will swell sand scratches when painted or primed. You should be able to go to the paint store or better yet one that well automotive paint and they can get you everything you need. Good luck. Kevin
  17. When you can please post some pictures as I would love to see what they look like with out the trunk. Thanks Kevin
  18. What happend to global warming? I thought we would get more ride time?? As good as it is for my work I am not looking forward to snow this year since I have the bike now. Oh well I cant stop it just hope it doesnt last long. Good luck on your trip back becareful.
  19. I think there is a bike out there or what ever for everyone thats why there are so many diffrent ones to choose from. You have a choice and so get what makes you happy not what everyone around you have or try to make you happy. Harley makes some great looking bikes and have great shirts and so on but just wasnt what we wanted we wanted more room and most bang for our buck so we wnet with the RSV.
  20. On the shoes I think wally world carries some of the harley brand boots, and places like tractor supply or rural king around here have boots like that also. The only bad thing on the boots is they are very heavy I have a pair and alway carry my comfortable shoes shen we go somewere. Good luck with the new bike!! Once you get used to it you will wonder why you didnt have it along time ago. Keivn
  21. I like the looks of the wally world lights, can you mount them on the driving light mounts for the bike or does anyone know? I am going to put some on this winter once I decide what I want.
  22. You need to come to the big city or Indy and get away from Alex this is were the action is Bob, if they drive a BMW or Benz or cars of that nature then you are supposed to part and let them threw or they will run you over or off the road. You need to drive Atlanta the last time I was there you did 80 down town and every road is a peach tree something and then try to find you hotel now thats fun. ANyway glad you are ok and have a great weekend. I have noticed also since they are picking corn and beans now there are alot of piles at corners and in the roads around me so watch out for those and dont get hurt.
  23. I RSV and they have made noise since I took it, I just keep forgetting to say something at service to see if they will take care of it under wrty.
  24. Ok stupid question but what does the carb heater do and does it matter if you do un hook it? I know mine is very cold natured and shes like a big block chevy once she has some heat in her shes great but she doesnt like the cold. I dont have the driving lights yet but plan on adding that this winter when I tear her down.
  25. My CU the bike loans are higher even on a new bike, I went with yamaha on it. Yamaha rates were cheaper than I could find for me and I think it was 6.99. Thats a great price on the bike and I looked at most of the diffrent ones out there and dollar for dollar the rsv couldnt be beat. I like the looks and sounds of the harleys but the price is just to high and you have less room. Good luck with what ever you get!! s
