Hey congrats on the new job, but sorry to hear you'll be farther away. But a job is a job especially if it's a promotion. Hope we'll still see you and Lori on occasion. Stay in touch on face book! Congrats again!
  7. I've just been following this thread and you did great. I picked up my 87 last year and got look with only to have to work out the cobb webs and mouse nests. if had been sitting for the better part of 5 years( previous owner had died). Paid $2500 for mine. Needed the brakes bleed, and the engine run good to get the idle set. I think I'm going to transfer over the progressives from my 85. Great job on the bike hope to see you up this way this summer.
  8. Happy Birthday Buddy
  9. Ben got in touch with us and I let him him know we're glad to have him on board. Geez, that guys got so much energy makes me feel like a slacker. But the more the merrier and you PA. guys are welcome to join us as well. As I told Ben, we've had at least one ride a year here. Steamer and Robin did last years but maybe a spring and fall ride would be good even though i don't want to interfere with Bongo's fall ride. But I hope that this years we'll all be able to get back together again and get some good riding and fun times back in. So keep an eye to the calendar I was just telling Tom and Jerry (ha ha tom and jerry) That a ride the second week of May would be a possible first ride here. Depending on the weather of course. But Ben anything you want to plan let us know we'll be there.
  10. Well poor Bongo Out his way they're getting hit even worse from snow blowing off Lake Erie. closing schools down. brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

    No Mo Ammo

Its funny how easy it is to scare people into buying more than they'll ever need. Ahhh good old Capitalism, supply, demand and gouging! Oddly I bet the liberals and their gun laws do more to make the gun manufacturers, ammo produces, and gun show people rich than any other factor!
  13. Yes i have witnessed Big Tom eat a whole ice cream sundae then go back for an ice cream cone to wash it down with ( with ice cream in it.)

  17. Hey Tom think of us like the closest thing to an AA for smokers grou you'll ever find.we've always believed you can do it. Hell look at all the weight you lost a few years back. Sure its all back. But that not the point LOL! But that's what makes ending the smoking so much more important. Your heart and allof us here that Love that big heart of yours. Not to mention Vicky ! So keep up the good work. It is worth it.
  18. That's the way to start a child on the path of years of safe riding. Congrates!
  19. Hey who is that on the Millinem Palomino on page 23 of AMA magazine. The guy is on his tippy toes holding her and his better half up. The pic is for an Americade article indicating that the vendors areas will be opening 3 days earlier on June 1 instead of on Tuesday. So is it someone from here?????
  20. Just want to send a little something your way. Sorry it couldn't be more. Hope it helps one way or the other.
  21. Now suddenly coming back to a Venture sound pretty good Huh?! LOL! Considering the heat you all get down there I"m surprised you went to the Harley but you never question Love right? Sorry to hear about the issues . I hope its all covered and you're back up and rolling soon.
  22. Hope all is going well.
  23. I've had a Honda sabre V65 ( a grand daddy of a sport touring bike. It even came with the optional fairing originally fitted to the Honda CBX) I love it with just a small sport fairing . I use soft luggage on long trips with it. Its a nice alternative to the venture which weights 150 lbs more.
  24. My ex and I rode for years. She on a Honda 700 Nighthawk S and I on a Honda V65 Sabre. After the divorce I bought the Venture cause the new girlfriend ( now old girlfriend)had no interest in riding her own. New girlfriend wants to ride her own bike and we picked her up a Honda Rebel to start but I also recommend the Honda 750-800 Magna especially if shes short. My lady is 5ft. I love the Americade because you see so many women riders there.
  25. I feel your pain. I once bought a set of Continental Tires from Dennis Kirk at a great price , good tires. Put them on in September rode the bike two months then put it away. In the march took it for inspection and the wouldn't pass. I argued too, but they said tires had dry rot. Long story short the tires were 8 years old. ( normal shelf life should only be 4.) Dennis Kirk wouldn't help me but Continental replaced them free of charge. PS. The softer rubber compound of bike tires seem prone to this sort of quicker drying out either by cold or who knows what. maybe we need to address this as riders as a whole.
