  1. I'm soooooo very sorry!
  2. Thanks Ponch i knew that . I was going for a little inspirational humor. I was really fat as a kid. I weight 245 lbs. and had a 44 in waist. I was all fat. I lost 60 lbs at the age of 22. Then I bought my first set of weights. I've been reading and experimenting for the last 30 years and have a pretty good system down now. I used to work out alone at home for years then I started working in a gym two years ago. Now I get to switch up my routines and keep my muscles guessing what I'll do next. After 30 years I'm back up to 245 lbs but I only have a 36 in waist. The last two years I have been concentrating on reducing my body fat percentages. Last measurement was about 18% body fat not great but not horrible for 55 years old. Congratulation to all out there losing weight keep up the good work remember its not a diet its a lifestyle, change one that you can all live with easily (even with all the Diary Queen stops). All except you Taters you're thin enough already lady. If you get any lighter Tom will have to put rocks in your leathers so you don't blow off the back of his bike. Take care all.
  3. HHHHheeeelllpppp Mmmee taters hheeellppppppp!!!!!!
  4. And i'm senden' them peanut butter samwiches.
  5. Hey guys these womens are all talk! They don't want to show no pictures because they know there are a lot of guys on here with bigger man boobs than the lady kind! Um wait a minute i didn't mean it to come out that way. I meant that they have littler ... Um ! hey i didn't want to get into this conversation the other guys made me say that. Please don't hurt meeee!
  6. well at least you have insurance and can get it fixed. iagine if you were retired and on a fixed income. See things can always be worse.
  7. I eat high protein diet, I went from working out three times a week to 5 times aweek , i've increased my cardio with 10 mintues on the stair climber ....... and i gained three ponds.!!!
  8. I was hoping we didn't have to do taxes this year??!!
  9. I was able to get the US map and a Canada Map but I seem to only be able to put on one or the other but not both . What can I do to get them both on there?
  10. If you guys owned a 1st Gen. 83-85 you wouldn't need them. LOL! Interestingly I have an XS11 set up for touring with KC removable saddle bags and they have the same type bolt /knob arrangemenet to attach and detach the bags from the frames. When I bought the bike it was a rusted mess and I actually had to break the knobs off to get a pair of vice grips on the bolt and with a can of WD-40 slowly work the bolts out to remove the bags. After a thorough cleaning I reattached the knobs and they're like new.

  12. Man now theres a mental image!
  13. Hey stop giving him hints with all the fishy smell stuff!!!
  14. hey Jerry Bubba said it best. remember too that the basic Intruder/c50 design has been around for at least 15 years. Also its a liquid cooled bike which is a big plus over the Virago. The 800 is a respectable size engine too. Suzuki has sold alot of them because they have power and style. I'd say go for it. It will be a bike that will last her a long time and she can add alot of accessories like a windshield, highway bars, wind gaters, seat, handle bars, you name it. It will get her to Lake George with you and your brother easy.

    Gsx-r1000

Pretty and fast but i don't understand why your butt has to be higher than your hands, I'd think a lower seat would be more aerodynamic.
  17. Don't worry good Buddy i got your back! I'd never get in on a practical joke against you! Nope not me! Nooooo sir, I'd never ever get involved in something like that ! Not in a million years!
  18. I remeber the Groove tube That was great . But My vote is for Princess Bride. I've seen it ten times ,still Love it.
  19. What a great picture of that XS Adventurer. It looks so much like mine. I have a Pacifico fairing and KC bags and trunk. But mines an XS Special just like yours. I'm also pulling a Velorex 700 sidecar with it.
  20. The poor guys that keep trying to bring the brand back keep shooting for a higher and higher end costumer. The problem is that there are fewer and fewer high end riders to keep a company like that alive. The high end of the market is flooded with customs and the like. they should have started with a low end bike and worked thier way back up or at the very least one high end and one low end machine. $40k for a bike? Thats what I paid for my house and that came with 8 acres of land!
  21. Okay Tom , Taters put this up as inspiration. She wanted you to see that alot of people have done it and won. Everyone is different and different things work for different people. But Taters stopped for one big reason and that is her health and her health is important because it means she going to be around a lot long for you. Thats what she wants too . She wantes to make sure that you're around alot longer you big lug! She Loves you that much and by staying off the cigarettes your showing her you Love her just as much. On top of that she needs your help, she's asking for it . Its very hard to start a new habit without someone else there to help them. It inspires them and the two of you can look to each other for the help you'll need. I know you're tryng to lose weight but if you use smoking as a crutch then what happens when you finally lose the weight then try to stop smoking??? I'm not trying to sound holier than Thou here. I've done it all lost weight, gave up smoking and drinking too. None of it was that easy but I took each one one day at a time. I lost 60lbs., I used to enjoy medicinal smoking on a daily basis, and I used to enjoy my Black Velvet quite a bit. As i watched my ex descend into trouble I realized i needed to be a partner and give up those thing because i realized the problems they were causeing us and might cause or kids. I know your kids are grown but you have grandchildren now and they will be influenced by you. Then theres us your friends here, In New York and on Venture Riders .We want you around a good long time. So if one thing didn't work try something else. Keep trying , don't giving up, you have a lot of people here rooting for you. Put down those cigarettes. As Red Green says: We're all in this together! Your Buddy Phil.
  22. Well when its just me , or my brother and son are out for a ride its definitely my 84 Honda V65 Sabre. Big, Fast , and comfortable for an hour or so of high speed ridin until a D.Q copmes along. Not twists sport bike but she loves long sweepers. More than ever now on long trips its the 85 Venture Royale. Last year i was still getting to know the old girl but she definitely likes to riden fast and loves riding two up. Long distances with Lots of gear. Its My 79 Yamaha XS11 Special with my Velorex700 sidecar. I allows my honey to snuggle in for an afternoon nap. Its also the bike of choice on those iffy rainy days.

    The lost generation?

That was incredible! It brought a tear to this old hippies eye..
  25. Nope mine is No. 110 for 85 so I'm waiting for it to happen. I only have 35k on the bike now,so we'll see. But i try not to ride the clutch or drop it hard. Try not to do alot of stop and go riding with the Venture. I was curious if flipping the bike opver would work.
