Count me as one I have a 1980 XS1100 in touring mode pulling a 85 Velorex 700
-
And be Careful. No heat stroke! Of course if you start losing weight we may have to change Margarets handle to Not-so-mini-muffin.
-
Nice job Rooster. Did you do that or send it out to be done! Are you running a Velorex 562 on that thing? Alot of people think its too light for our bikes. I run a velorex 700 on a full dress Yamaha XS1100 and have had no trouble.

You've got alot of good suggestions here. Gigawhiskeys is a good little trick a lot of women use. A good pair of thick soled boots will really make a difference. Another trick might be to look for a lower profile radial bike tire. The Shorter sidewall will lower the bike a bit. Just remember to change the front too. You need to run radials front and back. Welcome to Venture riders you'll have fun here. PS. If you look into the Shadows there's a great forum for them too several of us are on there also. Its called Shadow ACE tourer.

Hey Jeff I've been a bit slow in keeping up with news on the site. But know that we up north have you in our prayers as well . You take care and be safe. I know Margaret will keep us all as informed as she can. Be safe my friend I want to meet you face to face in Hertford sometime.

Ive used Chrome for about a month now and agree it and firefox are about the same here too. But its always good to have another door to the internet in case one gets infected. Have it, use it, like it alot. Besides how can you not like some with the word chrome in it.

Squid great Bike the shame of it is that Big Tom told me you were in the area AFTER YOU LEFT!!!! I would have love to have met you. Heck it was only two hours down the thruway. Oh well maybe next time. Congrats on the great find. Your a man after my own heart a little clean makes a heck of an improvement. I don't know why people don't maintain their bikes better.Say hi to Lonna for me . Tell her I'm still waiting for that PB&J cheesecake. Phil.

Well let me just add here That Big Tom did an exceptional job of showing all of us a great time at his M&E. Weather wise we lucked out as the rain always seemed to be ahead or behind us. Except for a little after rain road spray we all stayed completely dry. It was great meeting so many members that i have spoken to here but never met. Had a long conversation with SkyDoc while at Bongobobs to pick up some spare parts and had a great time. Skydoc rides a missle disguised as a 1st Gen. and blew past me with my son close behind like I was standing still. WOW! The hospiatlity was first rate and I realize now that I have some big shoes to fill with my M&E next month . Details to be posted soon. To all the others that showed it it was a ball laughing and joking with you all, meeting you all and riding with you. I hope we can do it again soon. Oh and i promise the topic of National Health care will NOT be discussed at next months M&E or any other topic that does not include good fun, riding or the friendship that we all share.LOL! That ones on me! Again Tom, Vicky, Bongo Bob and all the others that helped make this a great meet Thanks again it was wonderful. PB&J P.S. My son Henri says he had agreat time too and hopes to meet more of the gang next month. P.S.S. Oh and Rawhide is really sorry now that she missed it.

And don't worry we'll be here waiting up for you no matter when you're on to post. You've had one hell of a year, we all know that. This site won't fade away and all of us scatter to the winds. And no apologize! Sheesh what?! you want to give us all swelled heads? Phil.

Brad and Lonna so sorry to hear about the job situation. Yet ,you have been talking about moving and who knows ,maybe this is meant to be for a very good reason. As the rust belt has been shedding jobs and good workers the south has risen again and is seems job a plenty exist there. Besides with those losey roads in Michigan look at the money you'll save in shocks and springs.LOL! Good luck to you both and keep us all in formed. My bet is that a great job may be waiting for you. Besides how could i not care about the couple that gacve me my handle. PB&J.

The Blast is a good beginner bike. Okay plenty of people here have told you that. but for your girl friend there are alot of other great old bikes out there.Like the Honda Shadows. Over on the Honda Shadow tour riders there are plenty of people finding shadows for sale. A good bike with a low seat. The Virago 750 is another fine machine as pointed out. Also the V Star 650. Good luck to her in her search.

If someone ordered something and it came to you then wouldn't it be the wifey you should asking about that??? Or someone else in the household?

Annie fine looking bike . I also admire the incredible determination to stay on a bike no matter what. I love the leading link fork. I read about the company in England that makes them there when I was setting up my sidecar rig. My old XS1100 has a leading axle which is not quite as nice as your leading link but sure does help make the steering easier. Also i just want to thank you for the prayers and good wishes sent to my Partner Rawhide. Its greatly appreciated. I've been off site a lot recently and if you're new here let me send along my warmest welcomes to Venture Riders. As I'm sure you know well by now there are a lot of great people on site here. makes you glad to be a member Oh , heres a suggestion for your crutches. They make rifle holders for ATV and that attach to saddles . I know Australia still has plenty of ranchers and herders that use horses. Tack shops or sporting catalogs may carry leather of plastic rifle holders that you might be able to adapt to carry your crutches. Hope its an idea that might work. Phil.
