Enjoy it its a beautiful city. Enjoy the waterfront, walk down to little Italy then check out the memorial to the polish army officer murdered by the Russians during world war near the new Sheraton hotel. ( I think).

A few years ago I meet a couple that had two Yorkies. They travelled in a carpet lined open top box attached to the rear seat of her Goldwing The dog also had very short leashs attached to body harnesses in case they were ever to accidently fallout. The short leashes were meant to stop that. It seemed to be a pretty good arrangement. There are other ideas out there. Like a different type of top for your trunk so they can ride in there with air access and a view. Or if the wife rides with you theres a large bag between the two of you on her lap remember the body harness' attached to the inside of the bag to prevent that accidentally attack on the great dane passing in the suv next to you. you know how territorial those yorkies can get.

Hey Jerry we were planning on catching up with you or waiting one way or the other. It was great having you Deb and Tania riding with us. Like you said Tania may get a swelled head but her dad taught her well. Tell Tania Joanna is impressed with her first bike.Looked great and she rides it well. Hope we can do the October ride together too. This time we go to them. Phil, Joanna and Henri.( I guess i have to get him to join too,)

would you have a set of rear passenger floor boards for an 85. the missus really would like some? -
Hey Don we all appreciate you keeping us all updated on you personal condition. We know you don't have to but you do anyway. It goes to show the type of person you are and why you've garnered so many friends here. Joanna's and my prayers join all the others here for a either a cancer free recovery and or a limited diminishing of your vision. There will be adjustment but with them will come new insights into you life. Thats the way life works, but I'm sure you know that . Good luck Don.

How do you guys do it????

How hard you excellerate will make a big difference in your mileage and also your average cruising speed. My 85 averages 35-37 mpg. But Skydoc17 has told me the 1st gens are set rich from the factory and with a few simple mods he can get 45 to 50 mpg. -
The first few days with my '85 VR

First off welcome to venture riders. glad to have you. I also have a 85 but I can't tell you what that fuse is for. Normally when the key is in the off and not acc position there should be no power. In ACC you should have power to you air pump or CLASS system that inflates the front and rear shocks, also the radio and Cb ( if you have one, i don't). One recommended modification to make is to had larger battery cables for better starting. The originals are too small. You notice a big difference in starting. I can't help with the override on the battery sensor. I haven't had need to make that mod yet. good luck For the plastic try some furntiure polish like Pledge Orange to see if it will bring back the shine. I use it religiously on everything it works great. -
I wasn't sure if this was a question about when each of us decides to ride or not. I used to ride an open Honda Sabre with just a small windshield. 27 miles one way. Even with lined jeans, chaps, sweater etc. My limit was 45 degrees. anything lower and my hands would go completely numb. Not fun when you can't feel the throttle. I learned the hard way when I thought its was in the 40's one morning and it was only 33 degrees. i took me 20 minutes to get the feeling back in my fingers after I got to work.

17th confirmed bird strike of the year
PBJ replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Its got to be a VENTURE thing. I've been riding for thirty years, riding my big Honda V65 Sabre for 25 of them but its not been until this last year owning my 85 Venture Royale that I've been hit 3 times by birds. The first time I felt bad, the second time I thought "What an odd coincidence" the third time I started wondering whats going on here?! -
I also had an 850G set up for touring. It was my first sidecar mule and was a great bike. always started never gave me a lick of trouble. I gave it to my brother-in-law when i bought the xs11 as the new sidecar bike. The 850 was a little small. I'd say go ahead and restore the bike. you can have yourself a cheap version of a Triumph Speed Triple. They also have a very unique exhaust tone.

Hey Tom , Thats pB&j not PP&J you're going to make people think i have a blatter problem! LOL! It was a great time can't wait for the october ride.

My 84 Honda V65 Sabre is called "Trollsabre'. It's big powerful and ugly. My 79 Yamaha XS1100 is "Wretched XS' because its so friggin torquey, the sidecar attached to "Wretched XS" is "XS Baggage". Finally my 85 venture I presently call "Weeble" because of a weaveing it does when Rawhides nort riding with me. Apparently "Weeble" doesn't like me riding her with out my Lady . "Weeble" woobles but she don't fall down.

Handling problem
PBJ replied to VENTUREMAX's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have an 85 and recently had the exact same problem. I though it was head bearing wheel bearings, you name it. I had just put a brand new Kendra Kruz tire on the rear and had an almost new Dunlop on the front. No problems before the Kruz was onor even the first few rides. It didn't show until i rode the bike solo for the first time over 70 mph. then it was just like you described and the fast the morse it got. i was riding with friends and almost turned back We were on amd M&E and it was at a dealers place and the looked over the bike front to back. Their answer was it was the tire. The Kendra has a very thick hard center section. Its a long distance touring tire made for Wings and big Harleys ( probably with heavy riders in mind). With out the signifigant other and empty saddle bags the bike weaves just over 70-75 mph. Load up the girl friend and no weave right up to 85 and over.Go figure. Don't over look the other suggestions here but Marcarl and I both found it in the tires that could be the same fore you.- 26 replies

Dan the answer really depends on your age. Even if your retired medicaid doesn't start until the age of 62 or 65. If you have company coverage its should still be in place. But I assume that the question means you don't . You should ask your medical health provider what their policy is. Or ask a medicaid provider.( Okay people stick to answering the question no poli sci comments) the moderators are Watching!
