  1. Ditto that here. i used lemon and orange and the orange seems to work better, less residue to wipe up with a dry clothe. The Pledge also works on the engine, seat windshield, helmet and visor, chrome and pretty much everything but the tires.
  2. we had rain coming home. no blackouts . but a 30 degree difference between going up on Friday and coming home on Sunday.
  3. Remember too that a gift given with out any expectations in return is the greatest gift of all, A random act of kindness will always come back to you one way or another.
  4. Smart move, enjoy the new bike.

  6. Man oh man . Sorry we missed that be we were up there friday at Faun lake and Java lake looking at cottages.Had a great day riding but would have loved to join you. We spent the day riding wayne county and sodus bay area today. It was beautiful . great riding days
  7. My prayers are sent as well. It is one of the many dangers of riding. lets hope that laws reflect the tragic loss this really is.
  8. We have two yamaha shops in central new Yorkthat are very similar in sizes and amenities. Filer's in Macedon NY. and Pioneers in Arcade NY. Pioneer can't do enough for you Filer can't do anything for you. I took my 85 in for fork seals. It took them two weeks cause they ordered the wrong papers then they brought the bike to me and as they unloaded it off the trailer the seals popped out and the bike dumped its fork oil in my driveway. they had to take it back and redo it 3 more days. Pioneer has sponsors several of our rallyes, contributes prizes, checks out our bike when we get there and will fit us in if we need help while we are there. Two dealers same size totally different attitudes.
  9. You'll also see that the venture also can become a beautiful trike that you'll ride long inot your senior, senior years LOL! But go ahead with a little practice any bike can be handled well. I've seen women no more than a 150 lbs handling Harley full dressers and anyone can pick up one of these bikes using the proper technique, Butt on the seat and pushing up with your legs. Any health woman or man can do it so don't let that be an issue.

    Virago's

Wow Clive thanks so much for all of that. Some of it, about the oil I knew. I also have a Xs1100 and the filters for that and the venture are the same. Should i assume the Virago is similar to the venture oil fILTER? Yes I know all too well the parking light setting on Japanese bikes,i have it on my honda and did that once years ago. Luckily it was at work and someone took down my license number and gave it to a guard in the plant where i work and they tracked me down. I'll remember to check all the fuses and electrical connectors and i had planned on greasing the rear end as it seems to be a Yamaha trait. My Honda has never had this problem and that's an 84. I'm printing this out alone with other suggestions in order to make sure carol has a great running bike. Thanks again guys I'll keep in touch.
  21. Okay this one I can answer all sidecars even single wheel leaners like yours have what is known as crab walk. As the bike accelerates the weight of the sidecar produces enough drag to cause the bike to slide or scrub the tires, this happens during acceleration because the bike is pulling a load off to the side of the rear tire. Once up to speed this action is greatly diiminshed but continues as the bike must accelerate on hills and such. Hard or soft it still affects the tires and causes the ware. The kendra kruz i put on my sidecar has proven exceptionally resistant to this ware because of its big meaty middle. Okay back to the trailer discussion.
  22. Ditto that ! that was my suggestion too. Also if your friend is going to come head to New York at the beginning of the summer hit Americade then head south and west.
  23. I love my Kruz now that i got the pressure right and it doesn't weave on the thread. But beware ordering tires fro catalogs because they send the oldest tires in stock and if you have an older size that they don't move often you're more likely to get a tire that is way past its shelf life and the catalogs don't always honor an old tire. It happened to me. the catalog co. stiffed me when i complained. Luckily the tire company made good with a new tire.
  24. I think this is a good idea , sure its already cheap but 60 days is a generous amount of time for people to decide, good move Boss. and Good suggestion
