An old trick I read about and tried years ago works for me. Surgical gloves inside regular gloves keeps your hands warmer and dry. Works every time. The gloves get wet but your hands don't:thumbsup2:

So glad to hear all were safe and the house not a total loss. My ex had a fire in the two year old house that we raised our children in. She and my son got out safe but the house was a total loss.

my two cents I was told to fill the tank added the stabilizer run it down into the carbs and then pull the battery ., keeps moisture out stops rust. Its kept all my 80 something bikes running just fine.

teach me to not be on here for a couple of weeks I miss all the fun. Took me this long to dig the computer out from under all the boxes Carol has emptied and thrown in the office. Just a few more and then maybe I'll be here a little more.

It is a shame that the wife had to not say it too loud as if the husbands ego couldn't take it or that she has probably mentioned in the past the desire to ride and the husband wants none of it. Even if thats the case its too bad that the Lady didn't feel comfortable enough to buy and ride her own bike. But then there are many women who simply enjoy riding with their partner.

So sorry to hear about your dad. My mom is 85 and things aren't working like they used to. My prayers to the Creator are sent out for you and your father. Indians believe that the spirits of our friends come to us in tough time to help us through our hard ships. maybe your father is with the spirits of his friend that have cone to help him in this tough time just they all shared during the war. Strong bonds are created in those times that, bonds that not even death can erase. Good luck to him in his fight. My prayers go to the father and his good son.

I'm always amazed that the thing has an engine the same size and horsepower as my turbo charged mustang.

Mike and Clive, My son and i have just finished getting Carols Virago all finished . We found one carb jet larger than the other. We bought a used set of carbs and replaced the jets. The bike starts and idles fine. Riding around at 30 mph the bikes fine but when you twist past half throttle nothing happens. The bikes still trying to excellerate but no matter how far you twist the throttle theres no extra power. In pulling the carbs off we noticed the vacuum mechanism under the left "air cleaner" pod. Theres an L shaped tube off of that without any hose on it. Is this part of a vacuum advance for the carbs? If so where does it go and what does it attach to? I changed the plugs, I checked for spark all is well there. I ran just the front cylinder alone and it held idle fine and even sounded okay. But when I disconnected the front cylinder and just ran the rear it ran rough and back fired loudly. Please can you give me any advice Guys Thanks Phil.

its so hard to be everywhere with everyone. We were on Keuka they had a seaplan gathering here to celebrate the Curtiss museum. Seaplanes flew in parade around the lake. Saturday was beautiful here. Today cloudy again. Teach me for not staying more in touch. How about a ride here the second week of october? i'll post it later today.
