  2. So sorry to hear about your dads passing. Yes it can be a terrible loss. I lost my father 24 years ago. But he wasn't into carpentry, or baseball or sports in general. he had been a single child with no brothers or sisters. And so he wasn't demonstrative in Love as he might have been. He worked hard and was there when we needed him. After he developed cancer and the doctors did their work there was nothing left to do. I decided to make sure he always knew he was Loved. With a big hug I'd say good by whenever he visited. I never knew if I'd see him again each time we separated. It made the final good bye much easier. I hop your final good bye was an easy one.
  3. Glad to hear it Joe and remember, when they take the bandage off to tell her that it makes her look ten years younger!

  15. My mom uses a French Press pot for her Turish coffee. My mom is from Marseilles France but her parents were Greek. I usually make big jugs of Sun tea during the summer Letting it steep in the sun for a couple of hours on the back step. Mmmmmmm!
  16. Hey Annie I'm not sure if this needs to be said(or has already been mentioned in some other thread) but it might be wise to also buy a little medical insurance before you head here like many of our Canadian brethren do. No socialized medicine in the U.S. and ( God forbid) anything was to happen to you or Quickstep it could get mighty pricey.
  17. I thought you were going to end the story telling them that you git attacked by hungry dogs on the way home. But your answer was better. You"re right though we retired people d have waaaaaay too much time on our hands.

  23. As all of us guys are discussing this I realize no women are getting in on this ( or are they)? One thing I forget is the woman's confidence level. . A friends wife learned to ride and he bought her a new Sporty. The size wasn't too bad but her confidence in handling it wasn't there and it intimidated her. A riders level of confidence should also be included . But i restate that The Size, weight and power wise the Virago110 the shadow 11 , The Suzuki C50 or 90 and the Yamaha 650 amd 11-- stars are all excellent bikes for new women riders in my opinion. The triumphs are great too.
  24. Jeff take care and thanks for your service over there. We all appreciate it and pray for your safe return. If you're still intersted in the Chair we'll talk when you get back. NO HURRY.
  25. Ditto!
