After bein away for a while it felt so good to bask in the warmth of all that friendship. At least that's whee I think that warmth was comin from??? Hey Dave, i have to agree with Earl. I have a v65 Sabre and the v4 from Honda and they are solid engines. BUT you don't ever want your son doing wheelies on one. The oil line are noted to be a little too thin and the engine can get oil starved and thus Earls comment about top end noise. The 750 would be a great all round mid size touring bike but over 5000rpm there hides the heart of a tiger. My suggestion is that the Virago may be a better bike. It depends on if he rides more with you or his friends. Phil.

When I was in high school I was 6ft.1in.240 lbs and i had a 44 in. waist. I loast 60lbs. and then started to work out with weights. i;ve been doing it for 30 years. I'm presently 6ft.1in. and still 245 lbs but with a 36 in waist. My body fat index is a little over 10% which means that if I was to not have anybody fat what so ever I'd still weight around 215lbs. Those BMI measurement are so out dated they should no longer be used.

Jim, Your words are wonderful and true. yes we've had some here try to do that ( stir the pot). But they learn quickly its not good for anyone here. I too thank Don and all the moderators here for all that they've done to make and keep this a friendly site that is fun to be on and be a part of. I've made good friends here and hope to make many more in the coming years. They have proven to to be good loving people. Thanks for starting this thread Jim, I'll bet plenty more will echo your thoughts. Phil.L. PB&J.

Kitty Pregnant, OutKast needs to find sidecar
PBJ replied to OutKast's topic in Trike & Sidecar Talk
Yes it Is "Basic" but it has a flip up window and a lockable storage area behind the seat. I run a car battery behind the seat to act as ballist and to power all the lights on the bike , fairings. bags and the chair. As far as setting up the chair on the bike that would take some time. There are four mounting arms and each is dependent on proper placements of the others They mount as follows: 1.)Bottom rear - this determines the distance between the bike and the chair. 2.)Top rear- this determines the level of the chair. Not too nose high or low. 3.)Bottom front. this determines the toe on angle or the angle that the chair toes in toward the the bike. This angle insures that the chair wheel pushes slightly toward the bike but as close to neutral as you can. It should be set at about a 5 degree angle toward the bike other wise the chair will be constantly pulling away from the bike. This must be also set based on the weight to be carried in the chair. A compromise at best 4.) Top Front- this arm sets the lean out angle of the bike. The bike must be set at a lean out angle that matches the MAJORITY of road crowns that you right. I.e. country back road, highway or expressway. Some modern chairs have a lean out adjuster for different road surface crowning. This will also have to be adjusted for weight as well. Any questions just ask. Might be better to just buy the whole thing ride it home and sell the XS1100.Just a thought. -
