Advice To All and Young Folk in Particular -NOT A JOKE
PBJ replied to SilvrT's topic in Watering Hole
Sorry too hear about your situation. i went through that from 2007 to 2009. I also started late in my retirement savings compared to others. Luckily I got to keep my pension in order to pay off the house and give it to her debt free. I also paided off three major credit cards and her car loan. And I'm on the last 18 months of 6 years of (alimony)Maintenance payments. I feel your pain. -
I've been going since 1990. Still love it. Best rally ever. can't do it all in one year. Go early iun the week before the crowds get crazy. lots of bargain on everything. Cater mostly to newer motorcycles but still plenty in jackets helmets seats etc. Stay out of the main village learn the roads and use the expressway to skirt around main street especially on air cooled bikes. google map the area and learn where the Fort willian henry hotel is along withtthe Forum center and Million dollar beach. You"ll want to park at the Forum and take the shuttle bus. Believe me its a lot easier than trying to ride in the crowd. If you"ve never been sign up for only one or two tours but not consecutively put a day between each if doing more than one. The crowds get thicker farther into the week. so prepare for it. plan a trip out side of the village area if staying all week. Lots of the little village outside Lake George now have their own "Bike week" celebrations. many venders set up tents there too. Hope to see you there . We stay in Boltons landing 19 miles north of lake George. RT 9n is a fun ride.

thats next saturday the 18th?

because a sidecar wears through tires faster. based on speed and distance a newer set of tires might be considered for this trip . just my 2 cents.

Need prayers for my wife and I ......
PBJ replied to FuzzyRSTD's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
James please count my prayers amongst those sent I hope all is well and she's home soon with you and your family. -
I remember when you fell on hard times too last year. When those things happen we never know why. But looking at this amazing thing you did for this father and daughter. even if their visit is only for a few hours and least she has an idea that her father is still alive, and they may be able to re unite even if its for only a little while. The indians say there are no coincidences all things happen for a reason.

I have a trailer hitch and full wiring for an 83 to 85 MKI . if any one is looking for one or know anyone who is this one is going cheap. Contact me with a PM at PB&J. Thanks.

I know you posted this last month but i was looking for someone that needed a trailer hitch and read this post. I have a 1970 Yamaha XS1100 set up for touring with a full fairing, lowers, removable saddle bags and trunk plus a backrest for the driver. I have installed on it a Velorex 700 sidecar. This is a high backed seat with a flip up windshield. I have modified it to run using a car battery to accommodate all the lights on the bags and the car itself. The previous sidecar owner had a white lab that he used to take every where with him including to trips to Lake Georges Americade. The bikes been sitting this last year. My kids are all grown and ride their own now. and I have no time to ride it amongst my other bikes. The XS1100 is torquey and strong and will keep up with all your friends and then some. It would allow you to keep the RSV free to ride as a bike and not endanger the dogs ability to smell any changes in you which the exhaust stream might have been a problem with. I' don't want a lot for it. Its taking up room in my garage and any cash i get for it with go toward the 86 i'm buying in the spring. If interested contact me here or call me at 315 521 3729. You cansee picture in the ads here of other bikes. PB&J Phil lepel.

My 85 had 30,000 miles on it when I bought it on 2008 and 47,000 when I decided to take her off the road this year with a failing 2nd gear and a serious oil leak. The 86 I'm picking up in the spring has 35,000 and I hope many more in her.

So glad to hear they found a problem before it became a serious problem. After just meeting you both this year it would be a shame to not be friends for a lonnnnggg time. Get better so you too can be on that trike and riding with us again. PB&J Phil Lepel.
