Better check your bolts!
Riderduke replied to waterbug's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have lost a few over the years. now if I have to tighten one up and its not screwed into plastic I just use loc-tite. Cheep easy fix. -
Buddy check with Rick Butler (the butler seat mod) to see if he can do something with the back seat and leave the front seat alone. That way you both love the seat. Here is the link. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1023/cat/7 Also check this post as someone is selling some pillow top seats. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33274 hope this helps. and congrats to both you and Roadkill on you "new to you" bikes.

Pete, My mother had a stroke about 12yrs ago. she has no physical problems. she does everything that anyone can do. She currently is 70 yrs old. her only problem is she suffers from Aphasia she can,t read much or speak in full sentances. She has become the world best charades player. The doctors told us that she will have 95% of her recovery with-in the first year after that there will be very little differance to her progress. We noticed alot of progress the 2nd six months of that year. She worked hard to get better but it was mostly with speach therapyst. I guess what I'm trying to say is work as hard as you can with the PT and keep a positive attitude. Remember what Cowpuc said that scooters and trikes are always an option. If I were to get a 2nd bike it would easily be a Burgman, fun to ride, no shifting, and easily does interstate speeds. It Has become a bike of choice for alot of folks commuting into DC which is 50 miles up I-95 Our prayers are with you.

Donlop tire question
Riderduke replied to Quicksilver's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have to agree with Squidley! Avon tires are great in the rain & sleet. I had a dunlop 404 on the rear and slipped alll the time in the rain and almost lost the bike on a Georga tar snake. Haven't had any "PUCKER" moments on the avons -
And some of us have real jobs:stirthepot::stirthepot: see you that saturday

There is a M&E just about every month in the Mid atlantic states, the crew from NC,SC,& VA get together as often as possible. Just ask Cecdoo he started making alot of them before the winter came. Him and Kim actually came to the january M&E in NC by way of their Cage I try and do one M&E or Rally every month 12 months a year as its the only time that I am able to ride. I have a job that I can't ride in to work. So keep your eyes open for the threads and Come On Down they can be addictive:whistling:

Did I make a BAD mistake?
Riderduke replied to big mike's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
[quote=boominup;310779 Just remember that many of those 1st Genners are awefully jealous of us because they hardly have any plastic left on their bikes to be worth painting. The sides of our highways are littered with 1st Gen bits and peices. Obama should impose a useage tax on them to help clean up our roads. No wonder those bikes are so fast! Their's nothing left to them!:rasberry: Brian Now thats Funny:rotfl: -
Sounds good. We will see who all is going from VA and put together a nice ride up there. Glad to see that the bike is almost put back together.

Hey Randy, I'm only three hours away. Gettysburg isn't as far as the last M&E I went to in PA. Noon usually works better for most. So that would mean that I have to leave no later then 9am. That way I can be back home at a decent hour. The crew that usually comes from VA should feel the same way.

April 18th is a go for me. Kim we will have to put together a VA ride list together for this M&E and the Skid-in.

Congrats to you both. now that we know, Cecdoo & Saddlebum can get a good night sleep:rotf:

Here is a List that I'll be printing up and start to work-on. http://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/guys-idiners-drive-ins-and-divesi/index.html If anyone hasn't seen Diners Drive-ins and Dives on the food network you should. I think this show is great. Guy Fieri is off the hook and the restaurants that he features look good.

Gambit, Be extra careful of that MINI- MUFFIN. She lives close to you. And she has guns. The meet and Eats are fun you should try and make one, then you will be hooked.
-
You got it in yet? If not just bring it to the SC meet and eat next saturday and we can pop it in. See here http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=302098#post302098

We are just sitting back listening. Its like listening to someone talk about the airplane they flew in WWII and trying to make it seem modern. Back In WWII it was top of the line. I love listening to old war stories. Yeah 1st gens are great bikes but it just so much scotch tape, glue & time to keep them running.

Hey Chris, If you need any help with anything let me know I'm right down the road. We hope you heal up quickly.
