Hey Steve, I'm back also... I'm not on my 04 RSV though... How have you been..
-
The weekend of the 6th is the only weekend in October I can't do... I was really looking forward to see Don again... It's been a handful of years....
-
Hocking Hills state park is only 7hrs away for me. I'm definitely interested. The sooner we can get a date the better. I would take off work on Friday and make it a 3 day weekend.

Check out the Freedom Windshield. I put one on my Road Glide Ultra and it was fantastic. https://freedomshields.net/product/road-glide-rg3-windshield-2015-present/

That sucks, I left at 6:30 and rolled in at 3:30pm. I got very little traffic, however there were lots of cops out on I-40.. I bailed on the interstate and ran up Rt-29.. Much more pleasant of a ride....540miles I guess I didn't do too bad... Ron, After following you during the rides last weekend. I think we need to re-name you Sparky....LMAO

Thanks for the weekend to all. Also thanks for the great riding pictures Mrs. @WIZ... (Tina)

2009 RSV-Impressed (Taller Rider)
Riderduke replied to IMBatmon66's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It's been a while, I believe that the narrow front tire, that folks installed on their bike, was good during slow speeds but at higher speeds it was a little squirmy... Also if I remember correctly that the narrow tire and the leveling links made the problem worst. I would recommend that you check out the size of your tire to see what tire you have on before doing leveling links. I ran the stock size tire and leveling links and never had a slow speed problem in the 140K miles I put on my 2004. I'm sure others will chime in on to what the sizes of tires that @djh3 and I are talking about. I'm just going by memory as I haven't had a RSV since 2017 -
Yup got it! I just signed in with email also

I agree, Since I sold my Venture in 2017, I've gotten lazy and have had a shop do my maintenance on my Harley and now my Can Am.. I called the dealer to inquire about an oil change. $425... WTF... Not just NO, but Hell No. So guess what I'm doing this weekend... I just got the filter, O-rings and oil... I have a shop manual and the u-tube videos... I used to enjoy doing maintenance on the Venture we will see on this Can Am Spyder...... The plus side of the Can Am Spyder is the oil needs to be changed every 9300 miles or yearly... So I'ma gonna go for it...

Herman, I've really enjoyed watching you build your bike. I think it looks awesome.... Thanks for posting it here... especially for us guys who don't have the knowledge / talent to do such a thing. I really love how you combined the Harley and the Yamaha parts.. GREAT JOB

Same here when I sold my 04 venture...I really liked the look of the New Venture and all it's bells and whistles.. I got a Harley Road Glide (water cooled cylinder head) and enjoyed it but always missed the venture... That time has passed me unfortunately and For now I'm sticking with my 3 wheels for now. I'm thinking of maybe getting a small 2 wheeled Bike for local rides. (just like @Freebird old folks Facebook group.). I miss the ride / lean of a Bike but my shoulder would not be able to handle a full dresser anymore..

I agree My 2004 Venture was my favorite bike... 150K mile when I sold her... I wish I still owned that bike... My favorite looking bike was My 2017 Harley Road Glide...

I guess I'm just that guy... With the exception of my first bike (1982 Honda Night Hawk), I have taken the tank badges off every one of my bikes...lol
