I have an XM Rodie that I move from the Venture to the car and van. Love it. Especially since I have now run it through the Aux on the Venture. I am thinking about upgrading to the Pioneer unit that is an MP3 (direct record from XM) and an XM receiver. Also portable like a MP3, but provides live XM, about $250.

Mine along with every Metric bike I've owned has had a speedo that's been off. Reads faster than I'm travelling and subsequently shows going farther than I've travelled. My riding buddy has an HD and we compare miles/mileage all the time. I'm usually showing more miles in as little as 5 miles. No big deal once you understand/expect it.

Have you taken the bulb/lens off and tightened from the inside. As I remember you have to in order to get tight. If it is in fact stripped, since its a Yamaha accessory, I would try warranty also. I know my dealer would probably make it right for me. -
Velcroed my RoadyII antenna to the dash. Works great there with Freebirds cassette door mount system. Is the Zumo antenna different than the RoadyII?

Harley or ? Tour Pak Installation

I had a 2005 RSTD, which I totalled in my wreck in 05. I tried to install a trunk I purchased off ebay. I installed it on the luggage rack, (RoadStar type that attaches to fender) I really liked the way it looked, but it was not real substantial. Don't think it would fall off, but it gave a little when my wife leaned back against it. Subsequently, she did not feel secure and also felt it was not nearly as comfortable. I had heard of of someone purchasing a second quick attach/detach backrest hardware and mounting one that way. New those run approximatly $600+. I think I have a picture at work. I will try to post one later today. Have a great day.- 17 replies

Try using a bungee net after you attach with the velcro. Not only will it hold it in place, but you have somewhere to roll up and put your jacket. Also, we have used the net to bring home shopping purchases. Another idea, use the bungess with the balls that are used with Tarps. There are many configurations to use these, especiallly if there are some attachment points on the bag. I have a Kuryachan bag, though I can't find it on their web site anymore. It has shock cords with rubberized hooks coming from the bottom that attach over the luggage rack. First time I used it I thought it too would come off, however it doesn't even move. All in all I think the Velcro will hold alot more than you think.

I use the black one sold here. Really like it. http://www.ngatraders.com/

We purchased some pillow cases, flannel, at a garage sale and use those. nice and soft and if you ever need it you have extra rags! Put the helmets in the pillow case when not it use.

Dangerous I know:rotf: When you say locate the end and where the crack ends, in my case since it appears to have started under the bottom trim you are referring to the top of the crack. Right?

This company has a good selection that look good. I use the black plastic one from Barefoot Willys. http://www.ngatraders.com/

Thanks for all your research and information on this subject. Without your posts I probably would have not went with the Avon & smaller front. Now that I have I am realy glad I did. Again - Thank you,

When you say Belly bag is that the same as a Fanny Pack? That's what I'm picturing from your description. I may have to try that. Thanks for the idea.

Could you post a picture of what you used? Thanks,

Actually that came before from all the animals that seem to be out to get me. Just this weekend 2 birds, squirrel and chipmonk!

I have looked at some visor organizors, but not seen one that tickles my fancy yet. The helmet issue is not a problem for us as we never put our helmets in there.

I had the Dunlop 404, I think their called on my 2003 when I purchased it used. It was squirrly as all get out on grated bridges, grooved roads. tar snakes, since going with the Avon (smaller front stock rear), that has almost entirely disappeared. I have 5000 miles on mine and they don't even look worn yet.

They sell these on ebay, about $50 I think. Anyone made their own? I have been trying to keep my eye out for something that might work. Thought about a visor organizer made for car/truck and then use super velcro to lid. Even a net of some sort would be nice. Place for maps and such. Give some ideas. Thanks,

1/2 Helmet, Chaps, good boots, full finger gloves & long sleeve Tee. Broke every rib on the right side at least once, most twice, punctured lung (chest tubes s--k). If I hadn't just pushed my sleeves up, I wouldn't have had any roadrash. I wear full finger gloves almost all the time. Found the 1/2 fingers really not that much cooler. I use black deer skin work gloves, $7/pair at the Farm store. It took some getting used to how the seams were sewn, but now I don't even notice.
