I don't have old ones. I have a microphone off a headset that I'm trying to make work with my 1/2 helmet for use with my CB. -

Not that far maybe 120 miles. AllanH lives there maybe he could meet you and grab it for me. I know he is going to Eureka Springs. What do you want for it? -
Help-Looking for used headset cables

No unfortunately I can't make it to VIP. I am going to Eureka Springs in Sept. though if you are going to be there. Or we could work something out to mail it to me. -
Anyone have some extra headset cables they would be willing to part with? I need the lower cable that hooks into the bike and this upper one. http://www.twowheelsound.com/id55.html. Thanks, Jay

Got 1 member who wants one Just need 2 more to get 10% off, 5 more for 15% off. :whistling:Who's buying mine, if I ship them all out?? . Just kidding. The company I work for has a personal shipping desk, that allows us to get company rates, so I don't think its gonna break me. Jay

www.coveralls.biz These folks have offered a group discount with reduced shipping. I am offering to accumlate funds and order info, submit the order and then reship for free to those who have bought. I will let this thread run for a couple weeks. Those who would like to purchase can PM me what they want, their address and I'll provide you my address to mail me a check. Here is a link to the thread http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=11583 Here is a copy of some of the companies responses. David Rutledge from coveralls says: "If you have a "group", then we will gladly offer quantity discounts for the group. All that is necessary is to assemble the orders, with individual information, and then call me at (2140350-2690. You have to call because the shopping cart on the web page is set up to bill at one price only-full retail. To get the discount, we have to bypass that. We will give the following discounts to you and your group. 3-6 covers- 10% each, 6-9 covers-15% each, and more than 9-20% each. We will need to ship the covers in bulk if possible, but we can ship them individually and charge the normal shipping and handling charges on each one. You will save considerably on the bulk shipping, if someone will distribute them to the purchasers." Yes they do have an inner backing. We have been selling full covers for touring bikes for over three years now, and we have never-repeat-NEVER had even one complaint about a scratched windshield. And furthermore, never had a complaint related to paint being scratched either, and as you and I both know, that would be disastrous if it should occur. Hope this helps, and thanks for your interest in CoverAlls products! Hope to hear from you soon. For those that have questions, please PM them to me and I will submit them at once to the company. I'm thinking we might even want to approach them about a link to our site and theirs here, depending on how they treat us, but that would be up to Don. Thanks, Jay

Wanted to BUMP this up. I would be willing to redistribute if there are enough to go together. I am interested in the one that just covers the top half of the bike to keep the rain and dew off while on trips. I have a cover for in the garage, but I hardly ever put it on. If there is interest I'll start a new post to gather info.

I would like more info and pictures of what you did and also what ECK did if it was him. I wear a 1/2, but almost exclusively use the speakers. However, the wife and I have discussed that it would be nice to be able to converse every once in a while. Thanks, Jay

6th -10th works best for me, if I'm able to attend, which I would like to. It will just depend on what all is going on next year.

That's what I have and use. I have it attached to my cup holder, so If I can't pick it up I can lean forward slightly and speak into it. On mine the PTT button on the mic does not enable talking. You have to use the PTT bottom on the left handle bar. So unless you can take your right hand off the bars you can't hold it. I think one of my gallery pics should show how its mounted. I got it from someone on the Delphi forum. I think any matching 5 Pin mic might work. Jay

Passenger complaint
RoadKill replied to Bubbajbi's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mabe its the helmet she's wearing. My wife wears a modular full face and has never complained with the stock shield. Though I will say she's the time that her leg would be on fire and she wouldn't be complaining (about the ride that is ) :rotf:My wife is about 5'7". Just something else to consider. -

How Hard to Install
RoadKill replied to RoadKill's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Is there anthing that could be put inline with the AUX cable that would do basically the same thing? Also, could you just do the front speakers and leave the back alone. I find I put the Fade to the front and leave the backs down, as the wife doesn't like them on. Thanks, -
How Hard to Install
RoadKill replied to RoadKill's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks Don. I am basically trying to get just a little more volume for my MP3 through the speakers. Will an amp help that? -
How hard would it be to install this AMP in the fariing to give the speakers just a little more volume? I'm not sure I understand what would be hooked up to it. Any insight would be helpful, picutures would be better. Thanks, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=320145497919&rd=1

Brought my bike home last night after having the new rear shock installed, a new rear Avon Venom X and the regular 28k mile service, which included Carb Sync and steering bolt tightening. I didn't realize how bad my bike has been handling. :crying:The shock must have been going bad for awhile. Also, recently I had noticed a little shake of the bars and slow speed handling degradation, so I asked them after the service if the steering head bolt was loose and it was by almost a half turn. I feel like I'm riding a new bike again. Haven't checked to see what air is in the shock yet or the tire pressure, but plan to do that tonight. But just how it is right now is a HUGE improvement. I just can't believe it is such a difference:confused24: I can't wait to get out and ride Friday Morning. Its amazing how fabulous these bikes are! when everything is up to par.

I thought about the 500c, but it was so big and heavy. I would really be interested in pics of the mount. I have a RAM mount coming too, but am still interested.

Also, send it to the media. Newspaper, Radio and TV. The power of the media, while often not good, can be be put to good use somethimes.

I have purchased a Mio 310x GPS that should be arriving soon . I did quite a bit of research, but it really came down to price. I wanted the GPS, but also the MP3 capability. Chaos has one and he really likes it and it certainly got us where we were going. Does any one else out here have one or have opinions? Anything I need to know, or be aware of? Thanks, Jay

HD pipes and a loss of power
RoadKill replied to Moakster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I noticed no change in power after the switch either. Smooth and Quick, just like always, but sounds a whole lot better.
