The reason for the question on the 07 Venture
RoadKill replied to Rattlesnake's topic in Watering Hole
Good for you. I haven't heard of any "new" problems with the 07. Just the same old little quirks. Enjoy! Don't let those 1st Gen folks get to you. They only make all that noise because they really wish they had 2nd -
I think most find the pillow top more comfortable. However , some don't like it and prefer the studded better. Personally I have never rode the studded. I could ride a long time on my pillow top. However, I thought it was a little hot. I have since changed to the Corbin:dancefool:and I LOVE IT! I have never rode a seat as comfortable as this one. If it wasn't for Bathroom breaks (teacup bladder) and gas I could ride all day and not near as hot. Seat preference is kind of like women: everyone likes something different and you really don't know its true characteristics till you have made it your own and kept it awhile

Definetely NOT a 2003. It is a 2004. Many vehicles are Manufactured in the prior year to the actual Model year. For example 2008 models are all ready in production. Your 5 year warranty will expire in May of 2008, 5 yrs from the PURCHASE date. Your insurance company should know this. It kind of a double edge sword in that if they think its older premiums should be lower. However, if they need to remimburse they will be trying to pay you for an older MODEL than you have. Unless things are drastically different on the bottom side:rasberry: you need to stick to your guns. They should also know from the VIN what MODEL yr it is. Hope this helps. Jay

Got PO'd at a cager onced and chased them:no-no-no: which I don't recommend and have never done again. After coming off the interstate hit the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd and 3rd , flew by them at around 95 mph to let them know my disapproval of them nearly running me over on the Interstate. Had to let up to make a turn so never got to use 4th and 5th I really felt bad that I had reacted in such a juvenile manner. (boy was it fun though)

Checked with my inlaws. They flew in to Anchorage and took the inland trip. But my mominlaw's sister, (is that an AuntinLaw??) Took Princess and realy enjoyed it. Good luck and take lots of pictures.

He is for sure and that's what makes it fun for us. Looks like we might get a little wet according to the weather right now.

My in-laws did it. I'll try to find out who they went with. I know they really enjoyed it. Jay

Well, Wednesday afternoon we will be heading out (via the SUV:crying:) to Florida. Taking my son down to Disney for vacation. He is 10 now and we took him 5 years ago. So I'm sure he will find more he enjoys this time. Planning on driving straight through. I will have a computer with me so you won't escape me Having some maintenance and warranty work done at the Dealer on the bike while I'm gone. If anyone else happens to be around the Orlando area give me a call. # is in my profile. Later.

Hope that rotator cuff heals up and you are back on the bike before you know it. Did Kenny tell you how lucky you were to not meet me in Eureka Springs??

You are a lucky man:thumbsup:

Nice of them to have a festival in my honor! I need to attend this one. Too bad its so far from me and we are going to Orlando, Disney next week. Do they have a web site for it? Might have to go next year:dancefool:

Mine did it! Started cracking at ever connnection point. When I finally found a new shield and took the old one off they almost disenegrated. For now I put a new take off OEM on. Probably at some point go to the Clearview. My dealer's Service Manager didn't seem to hip on the windshield replacement, but I really didn't push it cause I found the OEM real cheap. I think you have a good case with them just replacing stuff. Good Luck. Let us know how you make out.

Out on a limb........uh oh!!
RoadKill replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I'm one of the lucky ones too, I guess. Mine whines/chirps or whatever you want to call it, but not to the extent some have mentioned. I know some of us here have people turn their heads on the street because its so loud. I have my modified HD pipes and the music, with me singing along as I go (believe me it keeps the deer away:cool10:) so I don't let it bother me. However it it was as bad as some mention I would probably change my tune. I used to have the same opinion as you until I talked to some other folks. So........I guess we are just cursed to have to enjoy our bikes the way they are. -
Clutch slipping in 3rd
RoadKill replied to Monsta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The PCW kit will not have any effect on the chirp, but you will definetely like it after you are done. -
Glad she came through it well. Tell her I want to meet her next year:rasberry: Of course, after you tell her stories about Eureka Springs she may not want to meet me! Seriously, tell her to take it easy and let YOU wait on her.

Clutch slipping in 3rd
RoadKill replied to Monsta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I had slipping in 3rd, 4th & 5th. Replaced my plates and added a heavier spring from PCW believe. There is an article by Tartan Terror shown below in related posts. Made a HUGE difference. Seemed alot snappier all around! Jay -

Well, we had a good visit with my nephew and his buddies this weekend, but kind of hate to see them have to head back. They have already been once and seem ready, so that's good. Lot of new recruits heading over with them that didn't look so ready. Told them how much we all respected them and remembered them in our prayers and believe me they really appreciate it. Thanks again, Jay
