  1. I have assisted my cousin Many, Many times with butchering a hog and hog roasts. It really isn't that difficult once you get it started. I could get all the instructions from him and then help you. Let me know. Jay
  2. Doesn't seem to auto off after lane change, only turns.
  3. Cheesecake?? :confused24:What's cheesecake? I think you should boycott this year!
  4. Well Just got a call from the Dr and said it the 2hr test was only slightly over the top end. I was 5.9 and top end is 5.8. Said it was some sort of Hypoglycemia. That I should change my diet to include more protein and smaller more frequent meals. They are mailing a couple diets to look over and try. So...We'll see. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers.
  5. Hey buddy, I hear you. You might be surprised to know that I smoke less than 1 Pack a day now, down from 3 It appears I'm sure Like I do more, because when we stop while riding I have 2 or 3. When I'm at home I only smoke when I get up and when I go to bed. So it has improved. Can't say I have any desire to smoke any less than that. I enjoy it:rasberry: See you at Maintenence day!
  6. Before I left for the Natchez ride I had a 6 month Dr. Appointment. At that time when they did blood work my Glucose came back higher than normal and that is the 2nd time it has done that. I told the Dr I had a Granola bar right before I got there, but she thought it was still high even taking that into account. Therefore this morning I'm going Coffeeless:crying: and have to go in for a 2hour test. I've been praying all night that what is God's will to help me accept it and deal with it. So keep me in your thoughts & prayers Thanks
  7. Did any of you get the vent? If so, did you try and what did you think? I am about ready to order an XXL, tinted, with no vent. but before I make the final decision I wanted some input.
  8. This is what I have also. I tried the speaker grills they don't work. Too flimsy and the grills are to thick. The XM shook all over the place.
  9. Not naming any names...........but he lives in Clarksville.
  10. I have Avon's and will never have a different brand tire. I'm currently running the smaller front and believe I will stick with that, since I feel in improved slow speed handling (I need all the help I can get, right Double D? ) If you have installed leveling links then you do not need to go to the smaller front for the handling improvement as the leveling links will provide the same effect, Per V7Goose's info. Jay
  11. Yeah. That napping while turning into a pulloff can be a little awakening to say the least Oh well. No Harm, No Foul. It was pretty hard to Nap though with someone GOBBLING over the CB all the time:rasberry:
  12. Very well said Steve. For those of you like me, who are in no way into History it is still an EXTREMEMLY relaxing ride full of beautiful scenery. Don't let the history keep you from giving it a ride.
  13. you decide.
  14. I got home at 1:30 CST. Never did warm up enought for me to take any layers off. Seemed like the farther north I got the cooler it kept getting. Nice now though. Thanks also Eck. It was a great time
  15. He called me this morning says he has it and the coffee pot, in case we hit one of them there places with no coffee:cool10: I am leaving here around 7:30 or 8 since its just now up to 33. Don't want to hit any frosty patches on the bridges. Should roll in around 6 or so. See you friday.
  16. Avon tires are the only ones I will use. Not only do they stand behind their product, they also build the best tire I have found and I have used them all Metzler, Dunlop, etc. The Avon is ABSOLUTELY the best rain tire I have ever seen. Sticks like glue. I don't know who thought they don't shed water, but I would say it was more rider than tire . These tires handle the grated bridges and road tar snakes like no other. Hardly know they are there. I run the smaller front and stock back. Got 16K on the back and so far have 19k on the front and it looks as good as it did the day I had it put on.
  17. Thanks to all for the congrats. Yeah I'm really a big softy. As you can see below. Just like having a baby again with midnight feedings and changings, my wife has been very busy:whistling:.

    Intro

Welcome. You won't be disappointed with the RSV or this sight. We are glad to have you. Jay
  19. My father in law has a circulatory ailment and had to have toes removed. He was moving slow while it healed, but If I remember correctly it was only about a month till he was wearing regular shoe again. Of course now he can't count as high as he used to be able to
  20. Well, He finally arrived. :cool10:We are the proud parents of a 3.6 lb, male, Bichon Frise! :rotf:Cutest little thing you ever saw. We have two other "children" too. Female Lab/Golden Retriever and a Brittany Spaniel. All seem to be be getting along fine. The new addition is for our REAL son, Jared. He was too young to be involved when we got the other two, so he has never been that close to them. He wanted a small dog of his own to sleep with him and really be his. I think this little guy is just the ticket. He loves to be held and cuddled. He only woke up once from sleeping in the bed I made him beside Jared's. Its getting to be a fully house around here
  21. Congrats. Had an 2005 that got totalled before my 03 RSV. I loved mine, though It nor I handle 50' jumps very well:confused24: So.......moral is........keep the tires on the road.
  22. Does that make you a turncoat since you don't ride a Venture, RSV or RSTD??
  23. Yeah, I would say Choke it to start then halfway to take off. By the time I get 1 mile away I turn it off and she runs fine. I'm sure that's your problem. Regarding the 600 mi checkup, I'm sure others will disagree, but I pretty much follow the manual on service. I figure there is a reason they call for those service intervals. Some might say its to make $$ from Service and that might be true. My Dealer's very experienced mechanic feels the 1st one is one of the MOST important. They usually adjust valvles, synch carbs, change oil, etc. I know the 3 new bikes I have had have always come back from that service running much better. Again these are just my opinions.
  24. YEP!! I'LL BE THERE!
  25. It was sort of a last minute deal based on weather being nice. I will try to set something up for some Saturday, though OK might be a little far for a one day up and back lunch
