Try a search for St. Charles. Snarly hasn't put any real info in the rallies link other than the date. Found it http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29657&highlight=St.+Charles

That wind was rather ferocious wasn't it. I wore the edges of my tires coming and going on that day! :biker:That's the day my battery crapped out too. It was rather handy to be at a Dealership.

Cool. I imagine I will go Saturday if possible. My son said he wants to go, but by then I'm sure something better will come along than spending the day with Dad.

I want to lose 35#. I'm willing to participate. However, just to warn you. I weigh in the NUDE, so if I weigh in at MD, better be prepared

Niehause Cycle- Open House is scheduled for May 15 - 17th. Hey Snarly Bill - Maybe it will be a little warmer this year. This is weekend after your St Charles gathering. Looks like I'll have to see two times in one month:crying:

I had the same problem and eventually held it shut by wedging a nickel inbetween the door and the side. The only way to fix the door is to install a WHOLE new head unit. I had this done under warranty. I'm sure some of our more creative members could fix it without replacing the whole thing, but that is the fix according to yamaha. I probably wouldn't have done it but my dealer suggested I have it done since the warranty was about to run out. Jay

I have the Garmin Nuvi 650. I downloaded Garmin's free POI loader software http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/ and just today loaded the Yamaha and Harley dealers. Once I downloaded them from the site as a save to a folder on my computer, I then opened Garmin POI loader software and after answering a few prompts it placed them in Extras section of "Where do you want to Go" section. Call me if you want. # in my profile.

I love Avon's in Rain, however damp roads just about any tire, even brand new may feel squirrely. I consistently get over 15,000 miles on my rear Avon and almost 30k on the front. Of course, everyone's riding style is different, and that has alot to do with tire wear. I also run the smaller front, which I really like for improved slow speed handling, which is a whole other issue. Jay

Might I suggest the top also. That would prevent helmet scratechs from the mounting bolts that are there.

I'm sold on the Corbin seat. They make a backrest for it also, but for me its dished enough that it provides its own support. Corbin has allowed me to go much further in a day. Its firm at the start, but it breaks in to you personally and then becomes extremely comfortable.

yes, it is covered in leather and yes it has the removalbe neck curtain, which I took off and threw in a drawer. They have all colors and styles. Do a search for Bell Shorty Black Hide and that will get you to this one.

Well I got about 3 hours in yesterday since the temp got up and the salt was off the roads. Boy did it feel good! Stopped by my dealer and picked the new helmet I ordered. I really like it, but its a little heavier than what I had, so it will take a little getting used to. I was surprised that I could get it cheaper at my dealer than anywhere on the net. I get a 10% discount as a VIP customer. That combined with no shipping and I saved about $9 over any place I could find. Also even with the holidays it was in really quick. Switched over the J&M 1/2 helmet headset so, I am chomping at the bit form more warm weather. COME ON SPRING!!!!!

Problem with new XXL Clearview
RoadKill replied to phochief's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I do not believe that's normal. I ride to work in the dark alot and have never had that affect. I also have the XXL, but mine has the tint and vent. Clearview is a great company and I bet they will do something for you. Be patient. Jay- 22 replies

Done. Great idea Craig!

Thanks for the info. I have had an idea rolling around in my head that at the point I start looking for a new bike, I might convert my baby to a Trike for the wife:whistling: and get me something new. Though at the rate I'm deterioating I may be the one that needs a trike.
-
Welcome Back. Here's wishing you a great 2009! Jay
-
What does it cost to convert to a trike?
-
Supposed to get into the mid to high 40's today. The roads are dry and salt free after all the rain we had. I'm thinking I may have to leave work early:whistling:

Well at least Leather up has a no hassle return policy, so if we get the wrong size or don't like it no problem.

Anyone using or used one of these helmets from Leather up http://www.leatherup.com/p/Motorcycle-Modular-Helmets/Advanced-Hawk-Gloss-Black-Dual-Visor-Full-Face-Motorcycle-Helmet/54913.html My wife likes the idea of the dual visor, but wanted to see if anyone has any thing to say about them. Thanks, Jay
