  6. hi jean, my wife had spinal fusion about 6 years ago and was in the hospital for 3-4 days.the doctor removed the disc between L4 and L5 and then fused it all together. she was able to move around a few days later,but it was a month before she could move around on her own. she say's he will be very frustrated and cranky. above all she say's DON'T PUSH IT!! will keep you both in our thoughts. bill&heidi

  8. fond out we are going to have 2 grandkids this year. one in june and one in oct.
  9. i taught all four of our kid's on my old kz550. son was way to shaky and his wife say's NO. oldest daughter said she will ride, but hasn't bought one yet.middle daughter and son in law ride after i taught them.have gone on a few rides with them but thier sport bikes are not as comfy for the long rides. youngest daughter loves to go for rides, but don't think she will ever ride on her own.

  12. hey,earl.the carb's from my 86, but the float is shot so i thought while i'm in there i should replace the neddle and seat. but if this isn't a normally worn part, it would save me some time on this!! thanks alot for the info. bill:thumbsup2:
  13. can anyone tell me if the needle valves from an 85 will work on my 86? i found a good deal on 2 but not sure if they will work. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank's bill:puzzled:
  14. hey eddie, i was out of work for about a month.went back to work with a 10# limit and one hand work only.it was about 3-4 months before i was comfortable doing everything,but still would have days were i just couldn't get comfy.i did mine in oct. and was riding the following spring.one of the things i learned was not to push to hard until you know how your arm will react. it is now three years later and my arm is stronger than ever.good luck,bill
  15. hey eddie, i feel your pain! tore mine off in 06,also from the forearm.had the repair and am happy to say that it is now better than ever.do your therapy and you will be riding before you know it.good luck,bill
  16. i tore mine off the bone back in 06, had the surgery one week later and haven't had a problem since. listen to your doc, and DO YOUR THERAPY . you will get thru it but there will be days when you just can't get comfy. have fun tying your shoe's:rotf: bill.
  17. i know how you feel, my bike's been down for about two weeks with carb problems and i haven't had time to look at it.spent the last week and a half working on my jeep!!

  19. jeff,thank's for being a great host. this was our first event and are looking forward to many more! scooterbob, thanks for the carb tune, bike runs great,it even starts better. wish we could have stayed for the ride but some things can't be helped.look forward to doing this again soon.

  22. got my seat back from rick this week.put it back on today and wife and i went for about a 1/2 hour ride.WOW what a change. best idea i ever had!
  23. last year my wife and i took our daughter and son in law out to get their rustic roads patch. was a nice day for us, but rough for them because they both had just started to ride.nice ride thruout southeast part of state.i am working on doing this again this summer with some of the guys from work.if anyone wants to tag along, i will let you know when we are going.
  24. we are planning a trip to door county wi at the end of may. hope to spent about 3-4 days there. after that we have know idea!
  25. don't let the size of your bike scare you, i'm 6'3" and 230# and i thought i bought to big of a bike. i went to this from a kz550 so i understand your concerns, but don't let that stop you from enjoying that great bike. if you practice alot you will get very comfortable with it. enjoy the ride!
