Happy Birthday Vicky. I wish you a great day and excellent year.
-
Congratulations, I wish you all the best.
-
That is great, you must be excited and all smiles. I look forward to seeing you riding this year
-
We are getting similar weather here in Toronto, but no where close to your 86F. We had snow Saturday and I also wanted to cut my grass Sunday, but I went riding and took the winter tires off my wifes car instead.

My 07 Venture, (which really I got new in May 08) battery is still working. I thought it was a gonner this year, but cleaned the terminals and working great so far. From the advice on this site, I bought a battery tender and use it every winter. My SeaDoo I only ever got two years on a battery, but since buying the battery tender I will be going on my 5th summer with the same battery. I think I got my money's worth from being a member, just from that alone.

Keep the venture or move on??? Please give honest feedback...

I wish you success in finding the cure to what is causing the discomfort on the bike. I read that you do have a back rest. Before I got my back rest I would feel similar pain/discomfort in my neck and shoulder. A 3 hour ride was about my limit without stoping and resting. Installing the backrest immediately cured the pains. I can now do a 15 hour day on the bike without any pain or discomfort. We are all different and if you are a little shorter, is there any way to have the backrest push you a little forward so you are not stretching your arms out so much to the handler bars. Just a thought as I have heard from others that a back rest made a huge difference for them as well. Good luck and the joy of searching for the right thing is you get to ride. -
Steve, our thoughts are with you and your Dad. It is not easy seeing our loved ones suffer, but it does give us time to say all we want which we may feel we havn't if someone is taken suddenly. Be strong for you Dad and as others have said keep talking to him and holding his hand or holding him. God Bless

Just thinking of getting out for my first ride of the season, and doing a final charge to the battery. I have two battery tenders and 3 batteries, and changed them around every week all winter. All the cords look like an octopus. I disconnected my seadoo battery and went to plug the Venture battery in but dropped the cord. I quickly picked up the cord and matched up the ends and pushed them together. Sparks and a loud pop sound. I connected my seadoo battery to the Venture battery by mistake. The seadoo battery will still take a charge, but the Venture battery will no longer take a charge. All you technical/mechanical guys out there can laugh. Is there any saving the battery or is it toast?

Good for you, I hope to be taking my first ride soon.

The "Drive thru Window" At Skydoc_17's House Is Now Open!
dogman replied to skydoc_17's topic in Watering Hole
Earl, I'm very sorry to hear all the trouble you are going thru with this crash into your home. It is hard to believe that you would be responsible for any of the repairs. Insurance company's have no problem taking our money, but they hire and train employees to make the least amount of pay outs so the company can keep more of the money. Nothing new here as we all know this. Your being given some great advice from people here. It is a shame that you have to go thru this stress for something that you and your house are zero percent responsible. I wish you all the best for the outcome and repair. Easy for us to say, but with all the frustration and stress you are being forced to go thru, it can affect your quality of life. You need to manage this stress so it will not affect your living. Again easy to say, but harder to implement. I wish you well. -
The tent trailer I pull is 250lbs without my gear. You'll get alot of head turns towing your kayak and lots of fun when you get to your destination.

Did you install your own hitch or paid to have installed ?
dogman replied to AngryAmish's topic in Trailer Talk
I bought a hitch from Carbon One, and he delivered it to Freebirds so I could install it at MD, while others where around that could help me. I am not mechanically inclined. I was surprised at how easy it was to install. Only four bolts to take out the metal piece and put the hitch in the same place. Then put four bolts back in and your done. The wiring on the other hand was too complicated for me. Another member here (Thank you again Saddlebum) installed the wiring for me. I could say he helped me do it, but that would be a lie. He did it all. I really had no clue. I moved things and got him things. That is how I helped him. This will be my 5th summer with the hitch. It works great. I have been towing a large tent trailer and never had a problem. Best of luck in your decision. When people on this site say they will help you. They will. You just have to not be too shy to accept it. I had this problem and still do at times. We all must step out of our comfort zones and see the benefits. Life is good, riding is good, but the site is great! This Venture site will improve your life with friends, knowledge and of course your riding season. Take a chance, take charge and take control my friend. Dave aka Dogman -
Here's an idea. Bring your bike over here and try it out on your bike.
-
Evan, I bought one 4 years ago, and it works great on the 2nd Gen bike. 50% off 4 years ago also.

That's a nice looking gazebo Don. Is that the one your wife likes so much that she wants to make/keep you so happy......... oh sorry that was another thread....
-
Wow, your good..... haha

Like Eddie, said and thought, I too thought you where going to be getting a new bike. Does that mean I lose my bike at MD this year? Keep smiling Don, we all are.

I bought a Leesurelite camper 3 or 4 years ago. We love it. The bed size is only a double 54 inches wide, but my wife and I sleep on a double at home so nothing to get use to. The camper I believe is 255lbs, and sets up in like 6 seconds. Here is their web site if you want to compare it to the others. http://www.leesurelite.com I love towing the trailer and taking long trips. Best of luck and happy searching.

Happy Birthday Don, I wish you all the best. Speaking of the best, I think they may be at your place on June the 8th. Lets all have a celebration drink. Cheers to you Don.

Well done Andrea, people want the easy and quick fix. With your help, hopefully they will see the life improving benefits you can give them if they do listen to you.
