  1. Well said Skydoc, I hope that will give some new people the incentive to come take a look. Two years ago at Maintenance Day, I was in need of a new clutch gears as mine where slipping. I bought some off Skydoc at MD who patiently guided me through the process of installing them. I am not mechanically inclined, he was very kind, patient as everything I would attempt to do the first time was wrong (i have just learned to laugh at myself as I know this to be true), he guided me thru the entire install and my bike runs like a dream still. Thank you Earl, you don't know how nervous I was to take on a task like that.
  2. That's great, I got one two years ago and someone I was riding with did not have a plate so I gave them that one. I hope to get another one off you to replace the one I gave away.
  3. Thanks I'm really looking forward to it, but I will have to get use to working every other weekend, but I will truly get to retire in 2 to 5 years when I feel the timing is right. But for now a week off every other week will easily take me to retirement
  4. You are one smart guy. Sorry to get you all going. It is my dog that just retired. I start my new job same company on Thursday. I must say though, it really does feel like I have retired. The new job I work 8 days in a row and get 6 days off. A week off every other week. It should make for a good riding season.

  6. Too bad Carl beat me to it. You could sleep with me in the tent:thumbsup2:
  7. The part has been ordered
  8. Will there be a dealer on site like a couple years ago with brake pads or other common items?
  9. ChrisM, there will be a group of us leaving Friday morning to go to Maintenance day and meeting at the QEW and Casablanca I believe at 9am, so we can make dinner. A few of those people will be staying at hotels and a few of us will also be camping. Take a look for the post. Any trouble finding it pm me and I will make sure I get you all the details.
  10. Wayne, I'm sorry to hear about your bike. That is some fast work you did to get it back in riding shape. I hope the winter painting goes well and no more things crop up that you notice while riding it.
  11. Thank you very much
  12. Yes makes perfect sense. I will see you at Casablanca but hopefully the week before too.
  13. Hello, I am having fuel pump intermittent problems and when I tap on it, the fuel pump works again. I have read some threads about buying a Universal fuel pump switch kit 18-4615 on eBay. I have looked into this but the seller has a form that says it is not compatible with my 2007 Midnight Venture. Does anyone know if I have the numbers wrong, or that it does work, but just not meant for the bike? Any help or advice would be appreciated Thanks
  14. Hello Dave, yes a very long time. I isolated myself while I was going thru some big changes (not a sex change) but still big changes.
  15. Carl, I'm in. If Ben wants to bring his coffee one more exit to Christie he can drink it here. Better yet, I can figure out how to make coffee for those that want to meet here. If not then I will meet you all at Casablanca. Now that I have really confused myself, you can tell me if it all makes sense.
  16. Congratulations John, I'm very happy for you and can't wait to see the big smile on your face when you are riding.
  17. 38806 miles. It is still up on the lift. It was hard to get started today, I think the fuel pump has just about had it.
  18. Great thread. Mine was red by default. I didn't know we could change it, until I read thru this. I changed it to blue. Grey was also good as was the green. I did find the red a little harsh on the eyes.
  19. No coffee, but love some chocolate milk Carl
  20. Yes my Safari book mark did not work, I had to type in a new search I will see how I change a bookmark. Another new thing to do. Life is great

    Jet Skis

Great purchase, I don't know anything about your Kawasakis, but I have had a Sea Doo 3 person since new in 2001. We water ski behind it still and tubing. We get lots of use with ours and I have never done a thing to it other then winterizing it. Boating I would describe as pleasurable, jet skiing is thrilling. It is so much fun. If you are close to the water it is great to just go out and jump waves for half and hour to an hour. much more then that if you are jumping waves takes its toll on your knees. Your going to have a lot of fun. Now you just need the time to get out there, oh ya and the good warm weather too.
  22. Don, I wish you all the best with your decision. Amazing that I should log on today and read this thread, I have not been on all winter. Money is more of a priority when the family is young as we want to provide the best we can, but as many have already said, at a point we realize that time becomes more important then money. I too am struggling with a similar decision. Only I wasn't smart to reach out. I sunk inwards to myself all winter freiting about it. 23 years doing what I love and feeling blessed and highly favoured to do. I have now made the decision to try something new and have just interviewed for it. I will have much more time off and a little less money, but I really want the time off, which I feel now is much more important. God Bless and be happy with your decision
  23. Ben, a Happy Thanksgiving back to you. I hope you had a wonderful weekend with your family.
  24. Gary, that is great news. Keep pushing yourself, but at the same time listening to what your body is telling you. Have a great trip on the bus and see all of the beauty. Especially don't forget the one sitting beside you.
  25. Good to hear that the two of you where able to break away. Sounds like you had a great time and nice that you where able to go on your Harley.
