  1. Big Tom got hit hard according to local news channels. I would guess 3 feet or more and 2 more feet due in the next 24 hours. We are expecting 6-12 inches in the next 24 hours, in Rochester. Along with high winds which will cause blowing and drifting and poor visibility. I-90 is still closed from Rochester to PA border and will remain closed until sometime Thursday night or Friday morning. All stranded vehicles on I-90 have been removed as of 6:00 PM today. I am being optimistic and haven't put my bike away yet because it is supposed to be in the 50's this weekend and I am hoping the roads aren't awash in melting snow, so I can get one more ride in. Jim
  2. Leo....That is a photo of the I-90 (Thruway) in Buffalo. The weather people say that Buffalo is going to get another 2 FEET tonight.
  3. OK, Fool......you can turn off the machine. There is 70" of that white stuff near Buffalo in the last 24 hours and still coming down! All the highways are closed and Big Tom must be pulling his hair out in frustration. Now we have to be worried about warm temperatures over the weekend and local flooding. Jim
  4. 3" of snow and they close the schools?? Up here in Roc, the roads don't even close with 30" of snow, much less the schools. We are more apt to have schools closed due to windchill than snow. They generally are closed when the windchill gets below 10 below zero on a sustained basis. I should have gone to school in OH. I would have had half the winter off!
  5. The clutch lever has a switch mounted behind it that may be stuck. The switch has a small plunger that sticks and doesn't allow the cruise to work, Check the tech section for details to remove and clean the switch. There are small parts (springs) that may be easily lost. Use caution when disassembling the switch. Copy & Paste URL below. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42720 Jim
  6. Here! Hold my beer!! I need two hands on the handlebars for this trick. :rotf:
  7. If you look closely, in the third pic (above), you can see the launch platform in the middle of the bridge. It is 875 feet to the water surface. There is a catapult that will throw you out over the river, if you are a little more daring than the average jumper. A few more pics of jumpers. The trick is to land on the yellow triangle and not in the river.
  8. Skid: I have pics of Dave and Joe standing on the bridge and they are looking over the side of the bridge and saying to each other "Who goes first, you or me???"
  9. Hi Joe: I will be there on Thursday, about 5:00 PM. Looking forward to a nice warm campfire tomorrow night! Jim
  10. Joe: Leaving at 8:00 AM Thursday morning. Should be at your campground about 5:00 PM.
  11. Tom: Enjoy your trip. Will you buy me a ticket if I offer to carry your suitcases?? Jim
  12. Happy Birthday, Bob. I didn't have time to ride on this beautiful day in WNY. "The Boss" insisted that I finish installing a new hardwood floor in her kitchen. My honey do list is longer than ever. I hope you have many more b-days. Jim
  13. I took this photo when the "blue is fastest rider" was resting between rides.
  14. Bob, if you didn't leave all the Captain Morgan empties lying on the floor in your hotel room, you wouldn't be tripping. You have to remember to put them in the trash can. Much safer that way. Have a great time on your trip! CONGRATS ON THE 25 YEARS! Jim
  15. "When I get low on oil, generally I fill it to between 1/2 to full on the sight glass. I'll start keeping it close to the 1/2 and see what happens." Too much oil. I have always run only to the half way mark and the bottom mark and have never had any oil in the airbox. Jim
  16. What is S.O.A. ??? :confused24: Jim (not a TV watcher, would rather be riding)
  17. Bill: I was looking at the photo of the campground and it appears to be a new campground. There appears to be a total lack of mature trees and shaded areas. Also, have seen some comments, on the Internet, about flooding in the area during heavy rain storms. Is this campground in a flood plain? I don't want to wake up to a foot of water in my tent. Is there another campground available in the area that offers tree shaded sites? Jim
  18. Brian: Let me preface this with the comment that I don't know anything about Honda 350s, but here is what I would check (not necessarily in this order): 1. Plugged fuel filter. 2. Plugged vent line from fuel tank causing a vacuum. 3. Floats in carbs stuck. 4. Junk in fuel tank partially plugging pickup. 5. Kinked fuel line preventing fuel from filling bowls in carbs fast enough to keep up with demand. 6. Electrical fault due to heat after engine warms up. As I said, I don't know anything about this bike, these are just things to check of a general nature. Jim
  19. Hey, PUC: Your going to miss the annual experience of "Hot Sex" around the campfire! And it's not the campfire that makes it "Hot". Jim
  20. Happy Birthday, Bob. We wish you many more! The first round is on me on Monday night. Jim & Sheila
  21. Neil: I/we will be there on Monday night. Jim
  22. Joe: I assume the "Bridge weekend" is for the River Gorge jumping gala. If so, that is the weekend of the 18th of Oct, I think. I plan on traveling to your campground that weekend. Should be a nice traveling weekend to see the Fall colors. PS: It was good to see you again at the IR in AL. See you on the 18th! Jim
  23. I lost the chrome cover that mounts on the left side of the collector box, somewhere in WV, on the way to the IR in AL. I looked on a parts list for the part number, so I could order a new one from Yammie, but couldn't find the part or number. Can someone find the PN for me or have a left side cover that they want to part with? http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/OTYwWDEyODA=/z/kA0AAOSw7NNT2vNj/$_57.JPG Jim
  24. I will be there. Looking forward to the weekend. Jim
  25. Happy Birthday, Tom. Have a Blizzard on me! This months' special is Peanut Butter Cup...............YUMMMMMM! Jim
