Anyone going to Thunder in the Valley in Johnstown Pa in June
Jayceesfolly replied to dingy's topic in Watering Hole
That's only about 45 miles from Skydoc's home, I wonder if he is going? Jim -
Send your seat to Rick Butler....best money I ever spent. I can ride my bike for days without a problem. He does great work. Go to "classifieds" at the top of the forum and then click on "Member Vendors" and then click on "Rick Butler". Rick has modified many, many of these seats and adds memory foam to them. Send him a PM and tell him what your seat problem is and he will tell you what should be done to modify your seat. He also has a short turnaround time also. It was the best money I have spent on my bike. Jim

Wrenchrob....see post above yours. Jim -
Jeff & Mike...no, you cannot send me your tax bills. I have my own tax bills to pay (I live in the state with the highest taxes in the US). And the county I live in has the highest taxes in New York State. Just send me your refund check. Hey, at least you are getting something for your money....I will send you the ticket stubs. That's more than your getting from Washington, where you're sending the rest of your tax money!!! Jim(always happy to take your money!) WNY International VentureRider Rally July 22 - 26, 2012

Now is the time to buy your Rally trailer tickets. Use your refund check and send it to me now! I will gladly take your whole refund check. Just mail it to the address in the sticky above in the Trailer Raffle thread. (Okay, I will settle for just part of it......) Remember...only 400 tickets will be sold. Get yours before they sell out!!! Jim (always happy to take your money!)

Well, Bob and Becky came back home to Western NY and brought the snow with him. I have 4" on the ground and more on the way. I am working on the WNY Trailer Raffle paperwork at the moment and, as I look out the window, it is coming down at the rate of 2" an hour. I live on the southern edge of Lake Ontario, which is a prime area for lake effect and we are getting it today as the wind is from the North, coming right across the lake and picking up all the moisture from the open water. But, as everyone knows, we are having a very mild winter here in Western NY. HEY, BOB......when are you going back South and taking this snowy weather with you???????? But, as Big Tom said, early next week the temps are supposed to rise into the high 40's and all this snow will disappear. Jim

Why do you need a tach???. Just run it up to the rev limiter and shift!!!!!!

Get your tickets while there hot!!! Best 10 bucks you will ever spend. You even have a choice of colors!

There is a Yama Venture Line backrest on eBay, if anyone is interested. Not sure of the condition, as the pics are not very good and description is lacking. Item number is 330665933646. Jim

Rick: Merry Christmas to you and Michelle. Enjoy the holidays. And Tom, the local powers that be will not let Rick off his leash until all the S*** is gone for the season. We may not see him until the Spring!! Jim

I just bought a Kindle Fire for my wife and she loves it. Has WiFi plus internet and e-mail, all in a smaller package than the Apple iPad. She has mobile hotspot on her iPhone so she can connect to the Internet anywhere to down load books, and all the other stuff on the Internet. Plus you can transfer files from a computer to the Kindle Fire and have all your information, right at your fingertips, in a very small package. I am going to buy one for myself to take with me when I travel. Plus, as noted above, Gutenberg has thousands of free books to download.

We don't have a need for a garbage disposal. We eat out almost every night of the week. Our disposal is hardly broken in after 16 years, so it should last another 16 years.

Don: I have a Motorola Atrix 4G (Android) and am now beginning to like it. It has a mobile hotspot to hook your laptop to without a cable (tether) and has a voice command to search for anything you may need. I use it to find the closest restaurant or gas station. I haven't been able to stump it yet. I like being able to use my laptop in the car without having to tether it. I don't know the range but I can walk all over my home with my laptop and not lose the wireless signal from the phone. I have only had it for a week or so, so I am still learning all it's features. I use AT&T for my carrier and have never been without a signal. Also, 4G service is only available in the larger cities on AT&T's network. It is not as extensive as Verizon's service area. But I imagine they will catch up pretty quickly. I also have a company cell phone and they allow us to use it for personal use and do not monitor or review the calls. I also do not want the company looking at my calls, so I have kept my personal cell and make all my calls from that. The company has never said anything to anyone about the minute usage on the company phones. And I know that some of our guys talk as much as 4 HOURS a day on their company phones with their personal calls. Jim

Steve: Here is a photo of the rectangular ones on my 89 VR. They are mounted on the horn brackets. I bought them from Wally World and are cheap. They are plastic housings. About $20 (USD). They are 55 watt each and do a good job of lighting up the road. Jim

Bob: Americade is June 5th to 9th, with a pre-reg party on the night of the 4th. Jim

where can I find driver floorboards?
Jayceesfolly replied to scuba54220's topic in General Tech Talk
Steve: I have a set of driver floorboards with shifting levers but one of the mounting spacers is missing. I used a series of washers to install it on my bike. I have an 89 VR. I am in the process of trying to find someone to make me one. I will then sell them for $225. I don't have pics yet, I will take some this weekend and send them to you. E-mail me if interested: jwcrane@frontiernet.net Jim- 2 replies

I have the Wiley X glasses also, with scrips in them and with transition lenses. They work great and I should have bought them years ago. I bought them thru my optician. They are a bit pricey but work great and will withstand an impact from stones, etc at high speeds. Jim
