  1. I have a 1st gen and it has a mute button, not sure what your setup is, but do you have a mute button on your radio controls? Also check the intercom button? Jim
  2. I would gladly pay 4 times or more for the privilege of belonging to this Forum because it is not a forum it is a FAMILY. Just my . Jim
  3. The brunch and cruise is scheduled for Wednesday and we need to have everyone sign up on the calendar ASAP because the deadline for the sign up is July 1st. As of today we only have five people signed up and we need to know how many people are attending, so the caterers know how much food to prepare. We need a minimum of 25 people for the brunch and if we do not have a minimum of 25, we will not have the brunch but will continue to have the cruise. I need to know by the 1st of July, if you are planning on attending the Erie Canal Cruise and Brunch. It will be a nice bike ride and a relaxing afternoon boat ride. After the cruise we will return to Arcade for the Annual Dinner at the Hearth Restaurant, where we will pull the winning ticket for the Aluma Trailer. You have bought your trailer raffle ticket, right!!??? We still have plenty of tickets available, so Paypal me your spare change and I will send you a ticket!! Sign up on the calendar ASAP!!!! http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=317&day=2012-7-25&c=1 Thanks Jim
  4. Thanks to Gunboat.........we are over the breakeven point. Thank you, Don! And to everyone else who has bought tickets for the trailer raffle. Now, we need to build the SAF fund. Just as Steamer said, this money is used for the good of everyone on this forum. We need everyone to buy 3 tickets and make the fund grow. We still have plenty of tickets available. Thanks for everyone's generosity. See you at the International! Jim Crane
  5. Yes, that's the thread. Thanks for finding it. I am going to order a set and put them on my bike. Jim
  6. I will be spending the day on two different PGR functions. One is to welcome home the WW II veterans from the Honor Flight at our local airport. This will be the best part of my day, to see these heroes return from Washington, DC, where they viewed the WW II Memorial. The second half of the day will be standing in honor of an Army Vietnam Veteran at his funeral service. They all deserve our gratitude and respect. Jim
  7. There was a thread on here about a month ago about someone putting a set of aftermarket mirrors on their 1st Gen. I don't know how to search for it because I don't remember which thread it was. They were black mirrors, not chrome. Jim
  8. so I can call you when we pull your winning ticket out of the jar. The drawing will be the night of the dinner (Wednesday, the 25th) and as soon as we pull the winning ticket, I will be making a phone call to notify the winner. I also need an address for the winner, so send the address form to me by e-mail, as an attachment, if it is easier than snail mail. I still have plenty of tickets available, so send me your nickels and dimes by Paypal or mail me a check. See the address form in the "Stickey" section at the beginning of this forum for directions to pay by Paypal or by check. DO NOT ADD ANY COMMENTS IN THE PAYPAL SECTION OTHER THAN YOUR SCREEN NAME!!!! Paypal does not allow games of chance and will freeze our account if you mention raffles, games of chance, etc. Good luck to all! Jim
  9. Tourmaster mesh jacket with 2 liners (rain and winter). Won't ride without it. It is never warmer than the outside temps, great air flow thru the mesh. Diamond Gusset jeans with Kevlar in them and armour gloves to protect the fingers and knuckles. Over the ankle leather boots. Better safe than sorry. Jim
  10. Bob: It must have been all that rain you rode thru to Americade! Hope you are feeling better today and you get out of the hospital soon. All our best to you and Becky. Jim & Sheila
  11. Go to the Technical Area and click on First Gen and Then Suspension and tire, etc. There is an excellent article on how to remove your wheel.
  12. Carl; There is a rest area on I-90 at Angola (the only one between Buffalo and PA line). Between exits 57A and 58. (445 milemarker). I can meet you there about 11:00 AM on Friday, assuming you are crossing about 10:30 AM at Ft Erie. It's about 30 miles down I-90 from the border crossing. My cell phone is 585-747-7998, if you have a problem or are delayed. Jim
  13. Carl: What is your route in NY? Are you taking I-90 thru NY to PA or going Rt 5 or 20? I am leaving Friday morning from Rochester and can meet your group on the way. Jim
  14. 15. I haven't bought it yet because I noticed it was a contact type unit and couldn't figure out how you were going to use it to sync the carbs. I just got on the Forum to check and saw the conversation, so I won't buy it. I am on my way to HF get a few hand tools, but will not purchase it. If there is anything else you need from HF just PM me and I can bring it to MD Day on June 1 & 2. Jim
  16. Don: I have a Harbor Freight about 3 miles from me here in Rochester. If you give me details of what you want, I can buy it here and give it to you at Don's MD in Ohio, if you are going to be there. Jim
  17. I would like a pair of the shorter ones with the bullet end. I am planning on only one mount on each side, so the shorter ones will work. Thanks Jim
  18. Hey Rick: That is similar to the trailer that we are giving away in the WNY Rally Trailer Raffle this summer. Send me the money you are going to spend on that trailer and I will send you a trailer full of tickets!!! LOL!! Jim

  23. I have been to Cartwright's many times over the last 15 years. Our family has gone there to eat the food every maple season. Great food and great people. It is in an out of the way place, but well worth the trip. Jim
  24. OK it's been two weeks since I posted this appeal to have everyone send me their tax refund checks and I have only gotten a couple of responses. Mama needs a new Mercedes....err ,,new shoes! Just a slip of the tongue!!! Actually, I will send you trailer raffle tickets if you send me your tax refund check. A great deal on the tickets at $10 each or 3 for $25. Support the SAF (Special Activities Fund) by sending me your refund checks. Also, it keeps the USPS in business! And to all of you that have already purchased their tickets, your tickets will be mailed out this week. Thanks to all of you for supporting the WNY VentureRider Rally and supporting the SAF. Jim
