Well, the new DQ, that is opening around the corner, is definitely not going to be ready to visit during the afternoon of our M & E. So, we have three choices available to us: 1. Go to the DQ on the south side of town (15 minutes), or: 2. Go to the newest frozen yogurt shop just around the other corner from my home (less than 10 minutes), or: 3. Take a short ride (15 minutes) to a frozen custard place up on the lakeshore and sit on the beach to eat the triple decker banana split. Decisions, decisions.....hmmmm. I guess you will have to show up at my home on the 14th and find out where we go for Big Tom's favorite elixir of life. Good food, good friends........It's going to be a great time! I hope to see you there! Jim PS: Please sign up on the calendar.

I spent six years driving a tractor trailer to NYC and Long Island and STILL cannot figure out why anyone would want to live and work in that city. You spend half your life stuck in rush day traffic trying to get to work and the other half of your day getting home at night. Every place to live is rent controlled because no one can afford to live there. There is nothing there that will get me to go back. And as Bob and Ground Hugger said, they should let the city wash out into the ocean and relieve the "up-staters" from having to pay all the taxes to support NYC. My . Jim

There is a helicopter show this weekend in the Rochester, NY area and it was organized by Ray Stacy, a VR member. His son placed fourth in the world helicopter championships this year. That is quite an achievement for a young man. Congratulations to him. He was featured on the local news channel tonight. http://www.13wham.com/news/features/featured/stories/macedon-hosts-model-helicopter-showcase-1090.shtml Nice job, Ray and I'm sure you are very proud of your son. Time is getting short for the M & E..........sign up on the calendar so I know how much food and drink to order. I'm not sure if the DQ around the corner is going to open on time, so we will have to go to the other DQ on the southside of town. About a ten minute ride from our home. I hope to see you there! Jim

Frank: You spoke to me about the LED lights on my bike. They are Rigid Industries lights. Model Number 20221. They have a 10 degree spot beam. Here is the web page: http://www.rigidindustries.com/Dually-LED-Light-Spot-p/dually-sp.htm Shop around for the best price. They have gone up in price since I bought them. I paid $165/ pair but are in the range of $189+ now. I am very happy with the way they light up the road. The 10 degree pattern works well on the dark country roads that I run on. They can be adjusted to light up the sides of the road and still get a lot of light down the middle of the road. During the day I run with them on so I can be seen. I get comments all the time about how bright they are, even in the daylight.

It's not a cross between paint thinner and embalming fluid.......IT IS paint thinner and embalming fluid mixed together!!!!! AND it's good!!!! That was the best part of the day, other than the music and all the friends that were there. (BTW, still haven't shaved the mustache, and the wife won't kiss me. ) What's up with that?????? Jim

It’s time for a Meet & Eat in Rochester for the WNY gang and friends! Save the date………for a Meet & Eat at our home on Sept 14th (Saturday). We will have a relaxing day sitting by the pool (bring your swimsuit) to catch up with all of the news of your friends, followed by a picnic style meal about 5:00 PM, followed by a ride to the new DQ just down the street for Big Tom’s favorite flavor of ice cream. For those who want to come early on Friday night, we will have a campfire in the backyard to socialize and roast marshmallows. We have plenty of room in the house, if you want to crash on the family room floor or living room couch, and a large rear yard for tents and campers. Hotels are about 10 minutes away. PM me for hotels in the area. We are very easy to find, about 30 seconds off the I-390 expressway (if you make the light!) on the west side Rochester, NY. Your hosts....Jim and Sheila Crane 192 Summit Hill Drive Rochester, NY 14612 GPS coordinates: 43.256851,-77.653351 We hope to see you there!

Well, since both holidays coincide, he will have to pack TWO lunches!

I wouldn't be anywhere near a border crossing in NY on Labor Day weekend. But that is not a holiday in Ontario, so you might get lucky. In any case pack a lunch before you start out. Jim

Wayne: Sorry to hear about the passing of your father. Our condolences to you and your family. A death of a family member is always a difficult time for the remaining family. Remember the good times and know that you will be reunited in the future with your loved ones. This we have been promised by our Creator. Jim

Steve: Would it be cheaper to ship to me and then pick it up when you are down here? I have a M & E coming up in Sept. Jim

Just a heads up. The Motion Pro must be calibrated each time you use it and it must be stored in an upright position or the fluid may run out. Can't lay it down in your toolbox.

Yup....The boss has a Hardley and he even has a trailer to pull behind it to pick up all the pieces that fall off and someplace to store his rainsuit (besides on his muffler) when he is not wearing it.

mirror help
Jayceesfolly replied to Patch's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The mirrors can be heated in an oven and the glass will come out. Not sure of the details, they are on this Forum. Search for them using the Search function at top of the page. Jim -

Cruise Control
Jayceesfolly replied to Donvito's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Take the headlight out and control module is on the left behind headlight. Check for corrosion in the plug. Don't have a photo of the module but I think the part number starts with 1NL..... Can't remember the rest of the number. Getting old and forgetful! Jim -
Due to a conflict in our schedule, I am going to change the Rochester M & E to Sept 14th. Please join us for a day of good food and good friends. Bring a swim suit and take a refreshing dip in the pool. Please go to the calendar to sign up and to the Meet & Eat thread for directions to our home. We hope to see you there! Rain date will be Sept 15th. Jim & Sheila Crane

OK, thanks, Mike. I will see you there. His daughter is 11 years old and has been riding mini bikes for a couple of years now. She hasn't been on a public highway yet (at speed) but she has no problem handling the minibike on their farm. Jim

Thanks, everyone for the information. I will pass along all these sites to my BIL. I have been on eBay and have found a few parts but he will need more as he gets farther into the project. I am now getting ready to head to Galena for the IR and will get into this restoration project when I return. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. Jim
