Dave: I'm in, just give me a date. Had a great time earlier this summer and looking forward to the next campout. And great roads to ride. But don't let Iron Mike bring his mountain goat GPS unit!!! Jim

Jeff: How about a Oilite bushing (McMaster-Carr #2938T27 for example). Or a flanged sleeve bushing or a drill bushing with a head. Just thinking out loud, not sure if any of them would work in place of the bearings. Jim

Puc: Sheridan was bought out by Crosman Airguns a few years ago. The Blue Streak is still available today. Just Google "Sheridan Blue Streak airgun" and find a multitude of information, on the Internet. Jim

shindengen question

I mounted my unit behind the bullnose so it was in the airstream (for cooling). On the left side ( as you sit on the bike). Then ran the red and black wires directly to the battery terminals with the 10 GA wire. This way the unit will monitor the voltage directly at the battery and not thru all the old wire harness. The wire harness is old and may have built in resistance due to it's age and distance from the power source. I think that the closer to the power source, it will result in better reliability. Mine has been wired this way for a year now with no problems. I can take a pic of the unit if you want to see how it is mounted. I mounted it to a metal plate which acts as a heat sink. Jim -
Wayne: I bought this one from Randpcarriages on eBay. It works great on my 89VR. [ame=http://www.ebay.com/itm/290660635436?]Trailer Light Isolated Power Supply Converter 5 to 4 Wire PM32 | eBay[/ame] Jim

Tinfoil is easier to shape to your head then the colander that I use. You have to be very careful whenever you are outdoors. The NSA monitors everything now even your thoughts! Better to be safe than sorry!!!!!

Frames are available from EBay, usually at a reasonable cost. Also Pinwall may carry the frame parts. They are also found on Ebay. I bought a set for my 89 VR on Ebay and worked well. Everything lined up well. Jim -

Be very careful how you bypass this connector. Doing it wrong or with the wrong voltage will short out your CMU (computer)!!! Skydoc_17 on this forum makes a bypass kit to resolve the problem. Go to "classifieds" at the top of the forum page and then click on Member Vendors and then Skydoc_17. Or click here: http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3766&title=first-genbattery-icon-bypass-lead-kit-21&cat=22 Jim -
Hey Carl: Congratulations on your purchase of new scoot. I really like that color. You should call it "The Copper Penny" or "Koper Stuiver in Dutch.[/url] Jim

Not sure about the RSTC but look on the bag locks, there may be a number code there. Also check under the chrome ring for the gas cap or under the cap itself. The 1st Gens are stamped on the outside of the ignition housing, if I remember right. Need a small mirror to read it instead of trying to take switch apart. Jim

Where's the wet bar and pool room? And I don't see a grill for the burgers. And no hot tub and no theater setup............???? Or is that Phase II of your home away from home?

Measure the depth of the battery, and add the length of the battery to this dimension and then add a small amount to this and drill a hole in the side of the case just aft of the battery. Stick a small screwdriver or rod in the hole and try to pry it out or at least move it. Once you get it started then you can reseal the hole with RTV. Insert a screw in the end of the battery and have someone pull on the screw while you pry thru the hole. Pushing and pulling at the same time. I did this with a Maglite one time and it worked OK. Jim

Hey, Count: Every day in WNY ends in "y" also. As in "lazy" day! Especially when you are retired! If it wasn't for the time and date on my cellphone, I wouldn't know one day from the next. Jim

I just made a reservation at the Oberlin Inn for MD and was told there are 3 rooms available for Friday night and 6 rooms for Saturday night. That was at 2:30 PM EST. If you are planning on going now is the time to make your reservation. And a big thank you to Big Tom and Jonesy for alerting me to the room availability. The people on this Forum are awesome!! PS: No explanation was given as to why I was told that there were no rooms available when I called earlier on 2/3/14. I did not speak to the same person, today, as when I tried to make a reservation on 2/3.

Congrats, Tom. Why wait until Spring? There must be a resort in FL or maybe Mexico. I would pack my bags and be gone tomorrow!! Jim -
I just tried to make a reservation for Friday and Saturday night at the Oberlin Inn and was told that the Inn is sold out. If anyone cancels their room, please PM me. Thanks Jim

Puc: I worked as a senior design engineer for Crosman for about 15 years and designed a few of the guns in your pics. I had a collection that was about twice what your pics show. But, I collected only the old guns that were hard to find even back in the 80's. The Model 600 (the semi auto one) was a very hard to find model and to this day, is almost impossible to find one with the cams in good shape. I sold my collection when I moved a few years ago but I did hang on to all my gold plated models I managed to acquire. They are all one of a kind. I also have two or three guns that were presented to me with my name engraved on them. I also have a gold plated Model 760. It's been many years since I have fired one of those guns. Jim

I have 4 pair of Diamond Gusset and 4 pair of Draggin Jeans. I prefer the Diamond Gusset because they have the velcro cuff on them to keep the pants from riding up in the wind and, in my opinion, more comfortable than DJ jeans. The Draggin Jeans are not as comfortable a fit because the kevlar on the knees have a tendency to rub my skin just above the kneecap when I do any long walks in them. I don't wear them when I have to do a lot of walking in them. But, I ALWAYS wear them when I am on the bike. If you have ever had road rash on your legs or arms, you will spend the $100 for these jeans, just so you don't have to think about ever having road rash again. Jim
