1. I know what food kills sex!?? WEDDING CAKE!!
2. I, like you, thought I had order the wrong spring! Rechecked the invoice and their website and confirmed the right spring had been ordered! Mine came without spacers and I had to contact them and Rick to find out what a spacer was. You will find both very supportive and informative if you decide you need some additional help!!
3. I did not measure the new but, as you can see in the picture, there was a substantial difference!
4. Funny how perspective is! Never entered my mind that someone loading or unloading off a bike would be an issue!! My girlfriend is 5' 2" maybe and, I'm guessing, 110?! No issue there!! My daughter is 5' 11 1/2" (always wanted to be taller then her dad - we call her midget!!) and I'm guessing she is 135?! Still no issue! I did give a fellow employee a ride once and I'll say he was about 210?! No issue there either. Please don't get me wrong just because its a no issue to me in no way discounts another who does have issues. It just never occurred to me that this could be a problem. Till I got the hang of it I could not raise my bike onto a center stand without using a 2x4. Now I can bike still has that monster weight, I am just better at applying leverage now. Or maybe the center stand finally found its grove!!!
5. Finished the valve job this week and a big THANKS!! to RandyR!!!! He visited me with his shim kit and helped me through this process. His assistance was invaluable and his shim kit kept me from having to wait on shims I might not have had. A few thoughts about this job: Read V7Goose's write up http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38545 then re-read it again. To turn the engine you will need 1 1/4 socket and I recommend a breaker bar ilo a wrachet that way you can keep track of how far you have turned! Next time I will set gaskets on the engine then put on covers. I think that will be easier then trying to keep them in place upside down, even with the Gasket goo. Of course V7Goose recommends it that way as well This is a time consuming job: 1st day noon till about 1:30pm cleaned bike 1:30 till 8pm Dissembly [*]2nd day: 5:30am till 10:30am finished dissembly 10:30am till 4pm RandyR valve shim measure and replacement 4pm till 10:30pm re-assembled and CarbTune Many can do it faster I am sure. Took my time cause it was my first. If I had had more time would have liked to have cleaned some of the parts taken off and re-checked the carb floats. As it was I was just glad to get the bike back together. Have 32,300 miles on bike and I am really glad I shouldn't have to do this again till 60,000 plus miles!!!!
6. God has a way of taking care of that! Once had a "friend" throw a kitten high into the air. I can remember him laughing at me as he rode off on his motorcycle. I was so mad I had tears in my eyes. Few minutes later he comes limping back up the rode his bike totaled and his face a bloody mess. Kitten, outside of gettin the wind knocked out of her and frightened, was otherwise ok. Kitten "1" No longer friend "0". God asked us to be good stewards of this earth. I believe that includes taking care of all animals!
7. So Showmebob, show me! Or actually show us! How much of each?? Sounds intriguing enough to try!!
8. Just removed my lowers on my way to finishing a valve job. Both are broken, 1 in the same place as yours. Thanks for the info! Let us know how it holds up!!!!
9. Changed mine a few months ago and like the new me so much better! How come no one else does?~?!!?~~!!!
10. I have pictures but nothing involving a detailed write up. I used Rick extensively while changing out mine. This was a first for me and went quite well. See: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55285 Hope this helps. I have more pictures if you want to see em.
11. Any members from the Houston, TX area who could stand in your place to look her over during your absence?!
12. Love it! Realize that a lot of effort, trial, error, mistakes, and pain went into the finished, polished, eye candy results! I admire anyone with the dedication and courage to live life to the fullest!!

14. I have the filter directly under the seat now for the past 6 months and it works fine! ENJOY and forget about the goof!!
15. I was gonna tell ya to come up here to Chattanooga and we could knock it out! But you got to it already. Left work tonight to find about an inch of that white stuff on my bike. Thankfully the roads were not iced, yet!

Moly 60.

Someone mentioned that you can get more of that for less from a Honda Car Dealership then you can from a Honda MC dealership! If you try that let us know!!!
17. Funny I was just thinking about you and your surgery!! Like getting answers to prayers! Now get tough, get outta bed, and go chase some nurses!!!
18. Women, to me, are like snakes! I love messing with em even though I know I am gonna get bite! That's the scary part, but oooooohhhhh the DANCE!!!!
19. Women always scare the hell outta me that's why I like em so much!!
20. I don't do guns, and I especially don't do women with guns! And who says she only has one gun, or one clip! You know how fast someone can change a clip? You know how fast an aggravated women can change a clip! Actually an aggravated women doesn't need no gun, they are dynamite all by themselves! Maybe that's why we like lighting their fuses!!
21. I stopped watching football and TV in general several years ago after I realized that I didn't really know the players anymore and that I had to much life going on. So after reading through all of this I decided to watch the game. I had recorded it thinking I might want to watch funny commercials. Loved the game, thought the commercials, for the most part sucked, although the dog running into the glass had me smiling, and hated to see The Black Eyed Peas have terrible audio. But the real treat for me was seeing Roger Staubach during the trophy cermony! There was my childhood hero! How did he get so small, and so old! It was a hote to see him and Terry Bradshaw together! My immediate family was from Washington DC and they thought I had turned traitor! But I'm a Cowboys fan, and during the Joe Montana years a 49ers fan! Anybody remember Billy Kilmer with the Redskins?
22. Since I can say what I want.... Nothing about this was cool, or neat. Better ways out there to prove one can ride a mc, if one needs to prove such a thing. Turned my stomach for the most part and made me say a prayer for the rider.
23. Go get em, Tiger! We all will be praying for you!!
24. When I first arrived in Chattanooga the only game in town was Comcast. Their customer service was pitiful and their prices outrageous. Fortunately EPB, the local electrical power company, had just installed fiber optics throughout the area and their service became available within a month or two. Free installation, different packages to meet everyone price point, excellent internet speeds, from 30mbs up to 1000mbs, and fantastic service! Don't know how Comcast is handling that here and don't really care just glad I had a choice!!
25. I use mine in addition to the tech write ups here, the advice, and the humor, and the Yamaha manual, which you can download! In fact V7Goose's write up on valve adjustments, in the tech library, refers readers to the "shop manual". Later in that same write up he responds to a question from a reader by answering "RTFM"! I find that the combination of them all makes things a little less confusing! Besides $15 on fleabay is not gonna hurt the pocketbook!
