Yeah I know, I was justa hoping for something a little better on my tombstone!

I realized my girlfriend is 5 ft something and I would rather eat a bowlful of angry fire ants, demented African bees, and broken shards of glass then tangle with her. With that in mind I would like to retract any and all statements regarding any and all fine upstanding women on this website. In fact lets just remove me completely from this thread!! You all have a fine day!

Isn't there some rule on this website regarding pictures?! Even she-devil pictures?! She doesn't sound that scary, MUCH!! Of course she is a women!

I also own a 05 RSTD and installed these:http://www.gooddeals18.com/category/motorcycle_audio/ They have been on my bike for almost 2 yrs, sound good and have done well in the elements. Looked at "The Wave" http://www.saddleshades.us/products.php but thought $650 was insane. Still would love to hear about them! I know this doesn't give you fairing info but thought you'd want all options! Have this picture of a Batwing on our bike but not sure where it came from? Just liked the look!

So is this Mini Muffin character real?! What's the story? Why does she need adult supervision? Is there anyone on this website qualified? Inquiring minds, and the rest of us ignorant folk, want to know! And how come someone gets off so easy for welching on a bet? Can you tell its Saturday morning and I don't want to go work in the cold garage?!

LOL, what you trying to start WWIII again?! http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=44709&highlight=dyna+beads

I looked at that the other day and I am considering the Sena SMH-10 intercom system based on what I have read. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/2010-motorcycle-intercom-comparison.htm Anyone had any experience with em? My daughter and I will be traveling to Texas in the near future and think these would add to our trip!?

I'm sure if you send them some of those pictures you sent me you'll get positive responses!! -
Uhm?! I think some of you are missing the concept of bragging rights! Bragging usually involves something to be proud of while making others a little envious! Just trying to help out here. I know being snowbound can play nasty tricks with the mind! But there is hope, summer, I mean July will come!!

Here in Chattanooga they are comparing this to the Blizzard of 93 when it dumped 18 1/2 inches. I remember that blizzard cause my ex got caught in it while visiting her parents in the Alabama Country. She was stuck with 3 babies who only knew how to poop! Before that episode we had considered having another child. After that I found out I had an appointment with Dr. Snip Snip! Then there was the ice storm of 80 in Randy's neck of the woods, Dahlonega, GA. I was in Ranger School there and we were out in it the entire time, even though the Gov. of Georgia had declared a state of emergency. We suffered 23 frostbite injuries during that training. Fortunately I had spent the previous 3 years training in Kansas and knew a thing or two about winter survival! Today's snow is only 7 inches or so and I don't plan on losing anything to frostbite or letting anyone else cut on me! Now if I can just figure out how to get the ski's on the bike!! Thank God I have the day off!!

Second winter living in Chattanooga, TN. Last winter my fingers caught it bad! After the ten minute ride to or from work I would have to endure a painful thawing out process. This year I installed these: http://shop.nationalcycle.com/perl/cycle/large_photo?mv_session_id=q2DHhhtD&mv_arg=N5502&search_model=ym-075 No longer have to do the thaw out process even in 20 degree weather. I wear insulated gortex gloves with silk liners. The wind deflectors have done the trick!!

Interstate 10 due to weather is your best route! Also if you have company switch off every 100 miles. That way everyone stays fresh and while it is your turn to drive you know you only have 100 miles or less to go before it is someone else turn. Easy goal and your no longer looking at that monotony of a long drive! Also rent a book on tape from Cracker Barrel http://www.crackerbarrel.com/trip-booksaudio.cfm?doc_id=48, they can be return at any Cracker Barrel along the way and you pay only $3 something a week, or get one from the library. Listening to a good story while on a long drive really captures the imagination and again cuts down on the monotony!! I have gotten so engrossed listening to a BOT that I have sat in my vechicle for long periods even though I was at my destination! I once drove, with another, 32 hours from the Pocono's, in Pennsylvania, to San Anotonio, TX using these procedures (1769 miles). Also did a run from LA to San Antonio (1353 miles). Both trips were without stop except for switching drivers! That being said I no longer tend to find myself in a hurry to get somewhere. I'd rather put along at about 300 miles a day and get myself easily distracted by the sites or people. It's nice to have that kinda time!

New Idea for Air Filters
1joeranger replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Yep I agree 45 look takes away from the bike. And the forward facing 45, yep I think I would rather chrome a turd! I do like the 22.5 look and the tight look but I think I go with the 22.5 look for the next 20,000 plus miles! Not concerned with the rain. The oil on these filters has done its job over the last year or so and I have been in some serious downpours! Truly am sorry about the filthy bike! Please don't have me thrown off the website!! -

Good idea, I'll go try that! OK here here are the pictures Great protection hate the look, though! Oh, sorry everyone for my messy looking bike. I usually take better care of her. -
New Idea for Air Filters

OK here are some pictures with the filter at a 45 degree angle. I think it is to much! Also considered that the filter at the angle is more susceptible to rain and not as well protected by the cowling! Of the 3 looks I'm leaning toward the 22 1/2 degree on the right side! Love to hear others opinion! -
Probably John Wayne paper!

My mom informed me shortly before Christmas of 5 cancerous brain tumors, the kind that will not go away. I have been trying to cope with that ever since. For over a year now I have been joking with her about visiting. She lives in the Hill Country of Texas west of Austin. I feel for you brother! Don't really want to walk in your shoes but thinking I might here in the near future. We all must, sooner or later. I would have preferred it to have been later! Been talking to God a lot lately. It would really be a kick for my mom to be one of his new miracles! I would like her to see great, great, grand children. Not being selfish, well maybe I am, I just know my God loves me tremendously! Doesn't mean he will cure her just means he Loves me. Anyhow, you and your mom are know in my prayers to!

New Idea for Air Filters
1joeranger replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I made this modification over a year and 20,000 +- miles ago! Love the look and consider it a vast improvement over the stock, coffin looking, air boxes. I used aluminum vinyl soffit material for my brackets and 1 1/2" pvc sewer drain line since the bell shaped end fit perfectly in the air intake tube. Unfortunately over time my bracket has worn off some of the black paint I sprayed on the white pvc. So while working yesterday in Lowe's I realized the ABS black pipe might be the ticket since it is black through the plastic pipe. I experimented with two different type fittings. The first was a 1 1/2" abs male adapter (item# 22793 at Lowe's) This abs fitting is snug, like a tight glove, in the air intake tube and in the pancake filter ( http://www.davesmotors.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.732/.f ). Actually did not bother putting the band clamp back on. I installed this fitting on the left side of the bike. Trying for creativity I then installed a 1 1/2" abs 22 1/2 degree street elbow (item# 74078 at Lowe's) onto the right side. Again, like a glove! Of the two I like the angled look best (right side). I'm gonna experiment with a full 45 degree street elbow just for grins and giggles tonight!
